Word to the wise friends--you're going to want to strap in tight for this week's program, because it is one bumpy ride! John and the W6 Ranch crew are experiencing, we'll say, a few "small town growing pains" in the fabric of the status quo in our little home town of Walnut Springs, which is to say: when you're the new kid in town, you get a little friction from the "old guard" while getting settled! But all indications are Big Things are beginning to happen, both for the Wolfe Pack AND our new neighbors. And my, how the car biz keeps a fellow busy: John's been landing some AWESOME classic, "hot rods" and exotic cars from all over the country (check our social media content at jcwshow.com to see the latest models, mods, instructional videos and wisdom from Squirrel, our Chief Mechanic)! And of course, the radio show is a genuine banger! Our old friend Joe Exotic, the Tiger King, is back from hiatus at a federal lockup in Florida with great stories about what he's been up to (and yes ladies, he's still single!), while JD has a ton of entertaining news and pop culture stories, a new You Just Lost a Listener, and some Florida News you won't want to miss...John and Bobbo share a small bit of what they love the most about great music and their favorite old TV shows, and Gigi has a lot to say about...well, a LOT of topics in human behavior and living the Cali lifestyle. And don't forget, Turley has more than a handful of scores, schedules, and other "hot sports takes" from across the spectrum! So come on in, grab a Natty Light, settle down and have yourself a hang with your favorite weekend crew. The Wolfe Pack has got what you need! Cheers.

EPISODE SUMMARY Tim Coffeen, the host of “Tim Coffeen Talks Indy car and Racing History,” will share stories and memories from his long career with top Indy car teams. As a winner of seven championship rings, Tim not only understands the history of open-wheel racing, he has lived it! https://sportshistorynetwork.com/podcasts/tim-coffeen-talks-indy-car-and-racing-history/ (EPISODE ON SHN WEBSITE) EPISODE CREDITS Tim Coffeen - the man with the stories Joe Ziemba - host and interviewer Ross Blilie - intro/trailer production TIM COFFEEN BIO Long ago, the racing bug bit him. Hard. Growing up in Indianapolis, it is not difficult to imagine how the lure of speed, excitement, and powerful engines snared Tim Coffeen at an early age. He was hooked by the sport of Indy Car racing and determined that there could be no better way to make a living than doing something that he truly loved. While still in grade school, Tim would hitchhike to the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) each spring and carefully watch the competing race teams prepare for the annual Indianapolis 500, the biggest event in all of auto racing. His initial break occurred while he was still in high school when he was hired to assist in the garage area at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the filming of the movie “Winning” starring Paul Newman. He interacted with car mechanics and other racing personnel, and no job was too intimidating, or too uncomfortable, for the young man. Little did he envision back then as a high school “rookie” that his career would span decades and his role as a team member with some of the biggest open-wheel organizations in the racing industry would result in winning seven, that's seven, Indy Car championship rings! But there is more to Tim Coffeen than his impressive racing credentials. He is an author, commentator, speaker, and historian with unsurpassed knowledge of Indy Car racing history. From his humble start as a lower-level assistant during the production of “Winning,” Coffeen quickly jumped into sprint car racing (both as a driver and as a mechanic) on old-fashioned dirt tracks throughout the country. He worked with his mentors and friends Bubby Jones and Jan Opperman for many years on the sprint car circuit, then eventually graduated to the big leagues at the IMS with drivers Opperman and Jones. During this time period, Coffeen also worked for the famed Bettenhausen brothers. In the 1980s, he joined the team headed by the respected George Bignotti as a mechanic for drivers Gordon Johncock and Mario Andretti. From 1983-1988, Coffeen worked with driver Josele Garza and the successful Machinists Union Racing. But in 1989 (and concluding in 2011), Coffeen began a long-time role with https://www.newman-haas.com/index.html (Newman-Haas Racing owned by businessman Carl Haas and actor Paul Newman.) With a stable of notable drivers, the team captured seven championships. As Lead and Chief Mechanic, Coffeen worked with such well-known drivers such as Mario and Michael Andretti, Nigel Mansell, Cristiano da Matta, Bruno Junqueira, Oriol Servia, Graham Rahal, Justin Wilson, James Hinchcliffe, and Sebastien Bourdais. With his podcast on the Sports History Network, Tim Coffeen will take you into the pits and into
We love this conversation with Zack Foley, chief mechanic for L39ION of Los Angeles. Zack is a veteran team wrench with 17 years of experience, but you can hear the enthusiasm in his voice for being on the road with L39ION. Zack explains what it takes to be a team mechanic, from prepping the bikes to being part of the broader team culture. He also details the changing nature of road cycling tech, including disc brakes and tubeless tires. Zack also tells us why wrapping bar tape just the right way is so important—especially with white bar tape! He calls L39ION a team full of imagination and creativity, and Zack's outlook on cycling reflects that.
Neil Trundle is a former Chief Mechanic for the McLaren F1 team. He is best known for being the chief mechanic for F1 drivers Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost but has a wealth of experience at the cutting edge of Formula 1 over many years. He also co‐founded Rondel racing with a certain Ron Dennis and would later rejoin him for an epic stint at McLaren after running his own Formula 3 team in the early 80s. His career at the pinnacle of F1 took him around the World with the greatest drivers and he has a resulting treasure trove of memories and motor racing stories to tell. Neil has been a long‐term member and friend of the Brooklands Members and this evening he will be in conversation with F1 fan and talks organiser, Steve Clarke.

This instalment in Evro's decade-by-decade series covering all Formula 1 cars and teams is devoted to a period when some normality seemed to return after the ground-effect and turbo excesses of the 1980s, except for one terrible weekend in the spring of 1994. The tragic deaths of Roland Ratzenberger and Ayrton Senna led to immense change with new emphasis on safety, including measures to slow down the cars and improve their structural strength, and numerous changes to circuits. In many ways Formula 1 became more as we recognise it today, especially as the decade's dominant teams, McLaren and Williams, remain familiar. Besides the winning cars, there is always much fascination for fans in unsuccessful and obscure efforts, such as Andrea Moda and Venturi, and this authoritative and comprehensively illustrated book covers them all.
