Where does the life-or-death obsession with speed come from, and why does it make the Ozzies so bloody determined? And why should you always claim to have seen a koala when you drive your car into a ditch? From Mat's interactions with Mick Doohan and Casey Stoner, to Peter's work with Broc Parkes and Chris Vermeulen, there's some wild stories to be told here. Also, the 2024 Australian Grand Prix marks the start of Inside Line Club's race screening events in India. Soumil and @f1statsguru will host an event in Mumbai (Khar) while other cities of India will have race screenings. Yes, breakfast tastes best  when served with Formula 1 action! (Tickets out soon on Paytm Insider; check out our social media handles) At this weekend's 2024 Australian Grand Prix, will the chaos from last year continue? We had three SCs and three Red Flag periods while eight drivers retired. As Soumil mentioned it, this is the only "park" Formula 1 goes racing at. Could Max Verstappen equal his race winning streak of 10 races? Is it really that easy for him and Red Bull Racing? Also, will this two week break have helped Red Bull Racing negotiate truce between all the warring factions? OR will Jos Verstappen's possible return to the Formula 1 paddock (he skipped Saudi Arabia, remember?) cause more news and controversy for the reigning World Champion team? In Bahrain, it was Christian Horner under attack. In Saudi Arabia, it was Helmut Marko. Who's turn might it be in Australia? On-track, Aston Martin, McLaren and Mercedes have to chase Ferrari first - before they set their sights on Red Bull Racing. Will Carlos Sainz return OR will Oliver Bearman get a second shot for Ferrari?  The narrative has expanded to - who will finish P3 in the race AND who will be the non-top-5 team driver to break into Q3? Lots of facts and stats packed into this preview episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast with Soumil Arora, @f1statsguru and Kunal Shah. Tune in! Welcome to Motos and Friends, Ultimate Motorcycling's weekly Podcast brought to you by the spectacular Yamaha R7 – a new generation of supersport machine.  MV Agusta is one of the truly storied names in motorcycling, and the heritage of the Italian brand is evident in every one of its spectacular machines. Recently I had the opportunity to ride the Brutale 1000RR in Italy, and I was able to chat with Teejay Adams about the machine. As it happens, she is the owner of an MV Agusta herself. Her ride is a 2019 Brutale 800 RC. That's the Limited Edition super-sporting version of the Brutale 800 that comes with an SC Project full titanium pipe and separate ECU. These incredible machines are billed by MV Agusta as ‘Motorcycle Art”. Teejay and I pass our thoughts on and whether we agree with that sentiment.    00h:17m:07s Associate Editor Neil Wyenn brings us our Snippet this week. Lately he's been trying out the Sena Impulse modular helmet with the built-in comms system, and he gives us his thoughts on that.   00h:27m:15s  In our second feature segment, Editor-at-Large Neale Bayly chats with legendary moto-journalist Mat Oxley. Mat's incredible MotoGP reporting resume is made even more credible by own seriously accomplished racing pedigree. He's won at the Club and Endurance levels, and he's competed and won at the Isle of Man TT as well. During his long journalism career, he's got to know the legends incredibly well. Guys like Mick Doohan, Kenny Roberts, Valentino Rossi, and even older riders like Gary Nixon, have all been written about by Mat. So if you're interested in what it's like to be a moto-journalist and a career MotoGP guy, the Mat will fill in the blanks. For those of you with a sensitive disposition, I should warn you that there's some salty language in this chat.     So from all of us here at Ultimate Motorcycling—we hope you enjoy this episode!   We love your feedback! Mighty Mick is anything but retired at this point but and is one of the busiest people that I know. Regardless we were still able to snag an hour and a half of epic chat with one of the greatest to ever ride on two wheels! Mick is someone I have looked up to my whole life and I am lucky enough these days to call him a mate. We have never really gone deep on anything to do with racing though, and this podcast was a real treat to be given the freedom to ask Mick all the questions I wanted about one of the most amazing careers in motorsports.SPONSORS:NORDVPN: Go to http://www.nordvpn.com/gypsygang or use code gypsygang to get over 70% off your NordVPN Plan + a bonus gift" // This offer is for a "limited time only" and there's a "30 Day Money Back Guarantee" if NordVPN isn't for you.ANTIGRAVITY BATTERIES: http://www.antigravitybatteries.comKNOBBY UNDERWEAR: http://www.knobby.com.auBOOST MOBILE: https://boost.com.au/pages/win CLICK TO ENTER TO WIN A BOOST PRIZE PACKMANSCAPED: http://www.manscaped.comGet 20% Off + Free Shipping, with the code GYPSYGANGTRAINAIDE: https://www.trainade.com/ Promo Code: GYPSY15KRUSHOZ: http://www.krushoz.comDriTimes: http://www.dritimes.comRIVAL INK: http://www.rivalinkdesignco.com - CODE: GYPSYGANG 15%MXSTORE: http://www.mxstore.com.auFIST HANDWEAR: http://www.fisthandwear.com - CODE: GYPSYGANG 15%DIXXON: http://www.dixxonquality.com.au - CODE: GYPSYGANG 15%Wear Gypsy Tales Merch ► https://gypsy-tales.com/TICK TOCK NUTRITION: https://www.ticktocknutrition.com.au Code: GYPSYGANG for $20 off...SUBSCRIBE TO THE PODCAST ►https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsBGR5UR7UCyLvNbHSxisFQADD GYPSY TALES ON INSTAGRAM ►https://www.instagram.com/gypsytalespodcast/?hl=enLISTEN ON:ITUNES:https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/chapter-136-ft-luke-kidgell/id1335551721?i=1000508051454SPOTIFY: https://open.spotify.com/episode/3WaBKQaxua1BBiy3TDVdLm?si=GgZ3KFlcRk6e60AgSpELXAADD ME ON:INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/jasemacalpine/?hl=enTWITTER: https://twitter.com/jasemacalpine?lang=enSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Enjoy the video version on YouTube at Real Risk Podcast. At the top end of town in motor sports - Formula 1 and MotoGP, the budgets are eye watering. The technology is beyond comprehension and the competition to get a seat or a ride is extraordinary with countless young wannabes vying for a tiny number of opportunities. So when the red lights go out and the racing starts, the need for not only speed but also reliability is obvious. A tenth of a second here or there gained through tyre choice or suspension setup will win races. Much of this is in the hands of the crew chief, the person responsible for coordinating the different teams who look after all the different systems and who can also interpret the feedback from the racer. In motor cycle Formula 1 (the MotoGP), the best of these crew chiefs was Australian Jeremy Burgess.  "JB" looked after some massive names - Randy Mamola, Freddy Spencer, Wayne Gardner, Mick Doohan and Valentino Rossi. JB earn't the nickname "The Kingmaker" through his involvement with over 15 World Championships! It was a delight to chat with one of Adelaide's own who made it big on the world stage.

WTF is Dave? And why was he only called that once? All is revealed in episode 22 where we also learn Tugg is a racist (according to the Book of Faces) and Rossi has forgotten how to ride a motorbike. None of that really matters, though, because the lads need money. Your money. And to get it they've teamed up with a couple of sponsors who are doing their bit to make your life better.  Velocity Vehicle Care want Billy Van Eerde to be Australia's next Mick Doohan and they want to do it by making your bike shiny and clean. Buy some of their magic bike cleaning stuff by calling 1300 990 074 and tell them we sent you. Every dollar they raise goes to helping Billy chase his dream. If you can't afford a whole case of cleaner (the only way to get it at the moment) join our campaign to get it into as many shops as possible by heading to our Facebook Page and following the instructions there. Meanwhile, what's the point of a beautifully presented bike if the rider looks like shit? Don't be that person. Buy the best race suits and gloves going around from Held Australia and pay 30% less then the schmucks who don't listen to us. To get the special price you have to ring or email and mention MOTO PG. The phone number is 1300 916 916 or email info@mig.bike. To see the full range head to the Held Australia website. And while you're listening to Boris Tugg and Freido, visit the MOTO PG website where you can help make the team richer by buying something in the shop. Even better, make a regular contribution by signing up to the Patreon Pit Crew and getting access to bonus content and a bunch of other great stuff. What are you waiting for?
