Dan Tiernan is a 26-year-old, gay, Mancunian with dyspraxia. He's a high energy act with a gag heavy set all about his weird and chaotic life. He is the comedian of the year and also BBC new comedian of the year. Here he speaks to Graeme about being a standup comic, a dinner lady for a while, his new Edinburgh festival show this summer and ... being gay and dyspraxic. By Dan's admission he is gay but doesn't feel like he totally belongs in the gay community in the traditional sense and most of his mates are his life long friends who are all straight. Just before he set off to Edinburgh for the fringe season of his career he chats to OUTCAST UK. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/outcastuk/message
Episode 267: Go Back to College! He doesn't remember much about it because it happened in 1983, but Garie Lewis' first set featured props and stolen jokes from Steven Wright and Bill Cosby. When he walked off stage, the club owner told him to ‘go back to college.' Lucky for us, he didn't. Garie and Stand-Up Comic Dan Bublitz Jr revisit story after story from Garie's rich comedy past. They talk about taping your set, recovering when you lose your composure, and how you can't win them all. Garie tells us: You just can't make everyone laugh. This episode is “can't miss” - Garie has truly seen it all! Please rate and review.Garie LewisGarie's first open mic was in August 1983…between then and now a bunch of stuff happened and he joked about it all over the US.WebsiteArt of Bombing:"Nobody Had a Podcast Called The Art of Bombing" Theme by John HultBumpers provided by Joe Nicola MusicWebsite: https://www.artofbombingpod.com/Merch: https://art-of-bombing-pod.creator-spring.com/Buy us a coffee: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/aobpodFB: https://www.facebook.com/artobpodcast/Twitter: @artofbombingpodInstagram: @artofbombingpodTwitch: @artofbombingpodYouTube: Art of Bombing PodcastDan Bublitz Jr: http://www.danbublitz.com/Josh Shirley: http://www.joshshirleycomedy.com

Episode 258: You CAN still die of secondhand smoke! Dewayne White is a DC-based comedian who draws on his experience in the united states Army for 23 years to fuel his journey through comedy. Give this episode a listen, and don't miss the end of his bombing story! Stand-up comic and podcast host Dan Bublitz Jr jives with Dewayne on the comic's writing process, a comedian's view of a person trying comedy for the first time, how writing jokes can be like putting pieces of a puzzle together (and what happens when you don't!), and leaving room for spontaneity in your sets to cultivate new punchlines. And stay tuned for our shady yet-to-be-greenlit movie premise about a comic who drugs other comics so he can take their stage time! Please rate and review Dewayne White Dewayne is a DC-based standup comedian and a combat-wounded Army veteran who served in the Army for 23 years. His humor is drawn from his unique take on his military experience, his life as a husband and father, and the general craziness of life. He has worked alongside notable comedians like Josh Blue, Sal Vulcano, Mark Normand, Tony Woods, and many others. Dewayne was selected as Best of the Fest at the 2022 Plano Comedy Festival, was a finalist in 2019's “Last DC Comic Standing,” 2021's Magooby's Joke House Comedian of the Year, and was a semi-finalist in the Last Comix Standing Competition at The Mohegan Sun Casino. A house-filling favorite in Las Vegas since she opened as one of the hottest tickets in town in June 2000, Rudner is known for her epigrammatic one-liners. Over the course of a multi-year run she sold almost two million tickets and became the longest-running solo comedy show in the history of Las Vegas. She was named Las Vegas’s Comedian Of The Year nine years in a row, received The Nevada Ballet’s Woman Of The Year Award and was given the 2017 Casino Entertainment Legend Award. Rita’s first solo HBO special, “Rita Rudner’s One Night Stand,” was nominated for several awards, as was her eponymous English BBC television show that later appeared in the USA on A&E. Rudner’s two one-hour specials for HBO, “Born to Be Mild” and “Married Without Children,” were ratings standouts and she performed all over the country, filling Carnegie Hall in New York three times. In 2008 “Rita Rudner: Live From Las Vegas” was PBS’s first ever stand-up comedy special. Rita Rudner has written five books and is a frequent collaborator with her writer/producer husband of thirty years, Martin Bergman. She moved to New York at the age of fifteen to become a dancer on Broadway. She appeared in several shows, including the original productions of “Follies” and “Mack and Mabel.” It was while in “Annie” on Broadway that she began exploring the comedy clubs of Manhattan. In the early ‘80s, Rudner took a full-time leap from chorus lines to punch lines and was soon a regular guest on both “Late Night with David Letterman” and “The Tonight Show.” In June 2016, Rita was invited and honored to speak about her career and technique in comedy at Cambridge University, England. In 2017 she was invited by Oprah Winfrey to appear on a cruise to Alaska that Oprah arranged in partnership with Holland America. In 2018, Rita’s tenth TV special was released – “A Tale of Two Dresses.” She will begin an exclusive contract with Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, hopefully in the not-too-distant future. #TweakYourDreams Rita Rudner Web: http://www.ritarudner.com/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/ritarudner Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/wwp Jones.Show Online: Join us in the Jones.Show Lounge on Facebook Twitter (Randy): https://twitter.com/randallkjones Instagram (Randy): https://www.instagram.com/randallkennethjones/ Facebook (Randy): https://www.facebook.com/mindzoo/ LinkedIn (Randy): https://www.linkedin.com/in/randallkennethjones/ Web: RandallKennethJones.com Twitter (Susan): https://twitter.com/SiriouslySusan Instagram (Susan): https://www.instagram.com/siriouslysusan/ Facebook (Susan): https://www.facebook.com/siriouslysusan/ LinkedIn (Susan): https://www.linkedin.com/in/susan-bennett-8607312/ Web: SusanCBennett.com www.Jones.Show
