On this flashback of Take It Personal Radio, we're hitting you with a remastered version of episode 32, our Pharoahe Monch Tribute. This 5 1/2 hour episode was recorded in 2018 and is now remastered in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Stress: The Extinction Agenda. We felt it was not only necessary, but equally important to do a tribute in honor of one of the greatest lyricists hip-hop has had. Additionally, what would a Take It Personal tribute be without the man of the hour stopping by to share some stories? We talk Paul C., Extra P, and even Kool Keith. We find out what it was like being passed on by Russell Simmons (along with Nas) and signing with Disney. We break down the Stress: Extinction Agenda album cover. We touch on his relationship with O.C. and the fact he thought the Time's Up beat was pretty wack. We talk Rawkus, ghostwriting for Puffy, sampling, sports, what went wrong on The Equinox; yes, we went there. We asked everything and he answered everything, including the possibility of an OK reunion. We also have 86 tracks displaying the brilliance of Pharoahe Monch. If you haven't heard this episode before or need a refresher, tap in because this one is TIP classic material. www.takeitpersonalradio.com www.patreon.com/TakeItPersonal

Picking up where I left off the 1st part of the ‘Fresh Produce’ series, this one is numero dos….still all about Large Pro productions once again but focused on the mid/late90’s and beyond including a lot of his solo material post Main Source as well as some of the less obvious productions he’s done over the years. I could have easily made 3 or 4 volumes of this because he has so much classic material but if you like what you hear do some research on his solo projects and so on… if you know..you know…Got some mean features/tracks/verses from folks like Tragedy, Havoc, Pete Rock, Nas, Lord The Arkitec, Mad Skillz, Common, Ghostface, Raekwon, Roc Marciano, Busta Rhymes, Slick Rick, The U.N., X-Ecutioners, Grand Puba, Killa Sha, Fashawn, Styles P, AZ, Jeru Tha Damaja, Keith Murray, DJ Koss, Powerule, Mic Geronimo, Reks, Timeless Truth, Neek The Exotic, Black Rob, Cormega & Senor Kaos ft. P.So…rockwiddit!
Fresh Produce is a producer themed series focusing on some of my favorite producers and their work over the years. The first one is all about Paul aka Extra P aka Large Pro, a legend to say the least, I recently caught the Main Source reunion show in NYC and got motivated to do some research and pin down some of the best and less obvious Large Pro productions over the years and I was surprised by some of the things I found. Check the mix, featuring some early bangers from the likes of Nas, Main Source, The Don, Kool G Rap, Roxanne Shante, Apache, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Diamond, Powerule, Lord Finesse, Slick Rick, Brand New Heavies, The Jaz, Tragedy, Big L, Mobb Deep, Beastie Boys & Leaders of the New School. All tracks produced by Large Professor of course…Episode 13B (The Extra P Era) on deck and dropping soon…enjoy!
This is not for everybody. This is for those who say "podcasting ..I can do that!" "vlogging? I can do that!" and other things. Listen and be enlightened! Language is pure english.
P. Watts & Large Professor - Southern Vangard Radio Interview SessionsBANG! @southernvangard #radio presents the #PWatts & #LargeProfessor interview session! This is one for the ages Vangardians. If the surprise that Watts, #BreakbeatLou, #Opio and #ClassicMaterial cooked up with #ExtraP for our #WeAreTheGard showcase at #A3C18 wasn't enough - how about an IN-STUDIO interview a mere few weeks later with Watts & LP?!?! These two gentlemen dropped by the lab along with the homie #Ghost to build about the new and old. We get the story on how their #A3C appearance came to be, why it almost never happened and the new single #RawWattage dropped last week - “T.O.O.L.” that features rhymes and production from Large, and the flip side, “Don't Lose,” that features #SadatX and is produced by #DJOgee of #DITC. We also crack the history books open to hear about how Watts and #DJFX came together to form Raw Wattage, Watts' Queens / NY lineage and how his meeting #TragedyKhadafi eventually linked him with Large. Extra P breaks down the status of #MainSource reunion, why “each one, teach one” has always been his approach with music and what it's like to still perform records from 25+ years ago all over the world. On top of that, friends of Southern Vangard #DJPocket & #J57 were just hanging out as well! What would a Take It Personal tribute be without the man of the hour stopping by to share some stories? We talk Paul C., Extra P, and even Kool Keith. We find out what it was like being passed on by Russell Simmons (along with Nas) and signing with Disney. We break down the Stress: Extinction Agenda album cover. We touch on his relationship with O.C. and the fact he thought the Time's Up beat was pretty wack. We talk Rawkus, ghostwriting for Puffy, sampling, sports, what went wrong on The Equinox; yes, we went there. We asked everything and he answered everything, including the possibility of an OK reunion. We have 86 tracks displaying the brilliance of Pharoahe Monch; we're proud as hell of this tribute, and honored to have had Pharoahe Monch as our guest. We usually say, we hope you enjoy, but it would be damn near impossible if you didn't. This is - our Pharoahe Monch Tribute!
Pharoahe Monch is a part of the lyrical elite, and yet, still doesn't quite receive the props he deserves. After this tribute, that WILL end today! There has never been a Pharoahe Monch tribute of this magnitude before. We felt it was not only necessary, but equally important to do. Highly influential and controversial BBC Investigative Reporter Greg Palast joins us from a secret location to reveal the findings from many of his top secret investigative missions, including UK phone hacking, Piers Morgan, David Cameron, George Bush and his Gold mining Company, the start of World War 3, Fear Farming and of course his forthcoming book "Vultures' Picnic" released in April. Greg Palast isn't a conspiracy theorist. His information is supported by hard primary evidence and although he works for media groups such as the BBC, Channel 4's Dispatches, The Guardian and The Observer, the level of abhorrent disgust he feels towards the manipulative high class puppet masters is not only evident within this interview but translates into the vast vault of information he has gathered on them. NO SELF-AWARE HUMAN SHOULD MISS THIS INTERVIEW. AND THAT'S NOT ALL! Mista Montana and Menace bring more world exclusive tracks to the show than ever before including a global unveiling of a Bruno Mars and Mickey Mou5 track, D12's Headbanger 2012, new EPMD album music and many more in a genuinely action-packed episode of CWR.
