They get into what they've been up to for the holidays and show off brand new items for the "Show-N-Prove" segment before jumping right into "Timeline Tingz" where they discuss a possible joint album between Eminem and 50 Cent, and Jay-Z's accuser allowed to remain anonymous. "Just Brandess" shares what she thinks about Hip-Hop in 2024 and her expectations for Hip-Hop in 2025 before sharing her thoughts on the passing of our brother Rick0378. One Time For Rick! The squad then pays homage to Rick, discussing the affect he's had and still has on the podcast, his extensive knowledge on Hip-Hop, Marvel and how selfless and giving he was. They then give Kincee Babyface Pearlis a call to say a few words about Rick. *We encountered some technical difficulties* In the "Yes Yes Ya'll" and "Droppin' Gems" segment, the squad shares their personal top ten Hip-Hop albums of 2024. In part two of New Music Seminar MC Battle For World Supremacy, our last episode for season 2, we focus on the years; 1993 and 1994! I recount the stories I heard about 1993 with MF Grimm, Mad Skillz, and the '93 champion, Supernatural. As for '94, I explain how my writing for local Chicago publication The Flypaper, created a lane for me to have some “involvement” and a front-row seat to many of the key happenings at the seminar that year, including getting a chance to interview Bobbito Garcia, The Artifacts, Count Bass D, Hard 2 Obtain, Zev Love X, and Muddbones (Cage and Masai Bey) for an article in The Flypaper, which never came out, and ultimately inspired Caught In The Middle magazine, that I started planning with J-bird only weeks after the seminar. And, I share the memories of being at a showcase that had Indigenous Theory, Keith Murray, Rampage The Last Boy Scout, Notorious B.I.G, Craig Mack, and Original Flavor with Jay-Z. Plus, some insight on the actual MC battle itself, which was won by Judgemental from Chicago, who I was in town with. It's an action-packed episode!! Hailing from Waynesboro, Virginia, Andrew Hypes is a DJ, music producer, and drummer who's been making music for over 15 years. Since a young child, his father Randy has played an integral part in the 80's babies knowledge of music and continues to support his talents and taste for music. Andrew would spend his adolescent years watching his father play drums and listening to all genres of music from Hip-Hop to Funk, Rock, Pop, and R&B/Soul. As far as favorite acts go, Hypes puts Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy, George Clinton and Prince as his top musical influences. Andrew has played shows in major cities like New York, Miami, Las Vegas to Los Angeles and has traveled to both London and France producing music for IBM. Hypes has gone viral twice, both in February of 2016 by creating an instrumental from a pair of Philips electric shavers (5,000,000 views on Facebook), and in the Summer of 2017 at a DJ battle at Richmond, VA college, VCU. After already opening shows for Pharrell Williams, Travis Scott, Diplo, Pusha-T, G-Unit, Daya, Lil Dicky and producing music for Grammy award-winning artist Lecrae, Evan Barlow, French Montana, and Mad Skillz, Andrew Hypes continues to push the envelope with his jack-of-all-trades approach to music, building his fan base and viewership in clubs and on social media.
