Pope Francis first unleashed attacks against devout Christian families by ridiculing them, denouncing their pro-life position by stating that there was no need to “breed like rabbits.” With his debasing and blasphemous attacks against the sanctity of the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony, is Pope Francis to blame for the population decline in Europe and America? The culture of life must be alerted to the anti-life comments of Pope Francis, and not rely on this pontificate to faithfully guide families through the war on life. BANG! @southernvangard #radio presents the GRAND DADDY I.U. interview session! First up - big up the homie Oxygen for making this interview happen - the LI connect is real. We returned from summer break a few weeks ago with Ep258 and dropped a joint from I.U.’s brand new LP, “The Essence” which is entirely produced by I.U. himself and has an unf*ckwitable lineup: Sadat X, Rah Digga, Bumpy Knuckles, Lil Fame, O.C, Babs Bunny, General Steele, Method Man, Craig G, Large Pro, Ruste Juxx, Inf Da God, Money Harm, DV Alias Khryst, John Jiggs and more! We get the behind the scenes story on how this record came to be, the production tools I.U. used and we get his perspective on putting out a record in 2020 - some 30 years after his debut LP, “Smooth Assassin”. Speaking of, we crack open the history books as well and talk about the Cold Chillin’ days, how he found out about GZA taking shots at him on “Labels” and his longtime working relationship with Roc Marciano - ya’ll hear about that Roc Marci / Devin the Dude cut produced by I.U. that never saw the light of day? Oh, and it was supposed to be released on Carson Daly’s hip-hop label at the time?! We’ve told ya’ll too much - you gotta check in to get the rest. Remember the remix? Remember buying that cassette single because you needed that b-side featuring that new remix? Remember the remix that breathed new life into a track you had just starting grown tired of? Remember hearing the debut of a new rapper on a remix? Remember splurging and buying that maxi-single because it had not just 1 remix, but 2? And don't get me started on the unreleased b-side gems. That's a whole nother episode. The remix is a lost art today, but in the 90s it meant something. Some remixes had different vocals, and some different beats. Some remixes were just flat-out better than the originals. Some remixes started and even saved careers for many rappers and producers. Remember the first time you heard On The Run? What about the incredible Stress remix? Remember hearing Mos Def on the Stakes Is High Remix? Episode 65 is our first installment of our Remix series. Thanks to guys like Pete Rock, Marley Marl, DJ Premier, DJ Muggs, Salaam Remi, Large Pro, Da Beatminerz, Diamond D and Buckwild to name a few, the remix became a staple in 90s hip-hop. We got 68+ remixes on Episode 65 and we're just getting warmed-up, too! At the break, the gang discusses the beauty of the remix. We pick our favorites in each set (3) and take you down music memory lane with stories mixed-in with some unexpected hilarity. AC The PD - Mixtape #1 - You Know My Style: "Classics Of The Past, Present and Future!"This is the first A.C. The Program Director mixtape ever made to put on the market, released only on cassette originally late 1999 or 2000, then we decided to remaster it and re-release it on CD a few years later ... Enjoy! There is now over 2000 mixtapes and counting with a new mixtape every Monday Night Fresh on HipHopPhilosophy.com Radio ...I only mix music I never played before ...There is a whole world of great new music that the radio won't play ... I live to find and share it ...If you want to support HipHopPhilosophy.com, our email address at Paypal.com is programdirector@hotmail.com ... Venmo ID: hhpradio ... Cashapp: $acthepd1. Natural Elements - Bust MineThere is still lots of NE records that I can't find, and I'm always looking ... If you call yourself a HipHop fan and you don't know who Natural E is, you ain't HipHop ...2. People Under The Stairs - AssholeThose close to me know why I can relate to the song so much ... When I found this group's music, I was very disappointed in LA for not celebrating them early ... most well-known LA (so-called) HipHop Dj's (sucker Dj's) slept ... game players ... This ain't no game ...3. Vakill & J.U.I.C.E - Out The SpeakersJUICE on The PD's first mixtape release ... The dopest who can make good records and battle anybody ... But his LP's have mostly lackluster beats and he deserves better ...4. Onyx - Shout (RMX) This white label is still fresh ... Too bad they lost "IT" too, because they most definitely had "IT" once upon a time ... Now they work with toys and rap on wack beats 99% of the time... 5. Biggie Smalls - Party and Bullshit (RMX)The first Biggie song I ever heard ... He could have had a legendary album legacy like Gang Starr, but he and Puffy threw that away for pop money and fame ...6. D.O.C. - Portraits Of A Masterpiece When this record was new, I listened to it over and over till I memorized all of the lyrics, because it was difficult ... Extremely fresh rhymes from one of the freshest MC's ever ... And one of the saddest stories ... This is real west coast HipHop, not that bullshit those bubble-gum Rap dudes call 'west coast' ...7. Large Professor f/ B-1 - Put Yourself In My PlaceThis is that Xtra large funk!!! ... Fast or slow, that ultra-ghetto bboy funk ... Stop playing those played-out records, sucker DJ's ... Hollywood sucker Dj's with Looking At The Front door in their crate!8. Big Noyd - All ProMy favorite joint from his above average debut LP ... But shit! Why can't great talents like this keep up dope beats after they get in the door?9. Lone Catalysts - PoliticsJ.Sands and J.Rawls, not to be slept on ... One of those records people always ask "who's that?" when I play it ...10. Promoe - Off The RecordWhen I first mixed and released this mixtape only on cassette, before I remastered it, side one of the tape ran out and cut this song off ... So many people asked me to bring it back so it's only of only two records that appear on two different AC The PD mixtapes ...11. Ed O.G. & The Buldogs - I'll Rip You The original version of this mixtape had I'm Laughin here, but I replaced it with this slept-on gem, because I brought I'm Laughin back on #9 before I re-released this mixtape on CD ... This album is super slept-on! I miss the Ed OG of the early 90's, cuz Earbola has plagued his post-2000 era heavy ...12. J-SS - The Look Of LoveThis was a great song and record, for a minute, till the whole style was recycled over and over ... Even though I can't play the record anymore, it's still capable of sounding fresh when mixed among other still-fresh music ... Take note sucker Dj's!13. Kid Capri - You Know My Style -I brought this record back too, on #9, because at the time, I had no idea I would re-release this mixtape on CD ... But this is the title track for this mixtape, so I had to leave it on ...14. Ultramagnetic MC's (Kool Keith) - MC Champion -One of many super slept-on, forgotten, left out, missed joints from the all-time great Funk Your Head Up LP ... The album gets better with time ... Had to use just Keith's verse on this song though, because Ced Gee was obviously starting to lose "IT" on this album ...15. Biggie Smalls - Suicidal ThoughtsMy favorite Biggie record ever ... No wonder, it was the only Lord Finesse production on Ready To Die ... Too bad Biggie let a pop mogul ruin his potentially legendary album recording legacy ...16. Kool G Rap - Edge Of SanityEverybody's favorite rappers' favorite rapper ... Another super slept-on, under-played LP non-single joint ... After the Roots Of Evil album, Earbola has set in heavy on G Rap, one of the best ever... He lasted a LONG time before he lost his ear ...17. Mobb Deep and Tragedy - LA, LA I thought these dudes would never lose "IT" ... I was wrong, as usual ... lol ... But legendary none-the-less ...18. Louis Logic - FactotumThe song that made me a big fan ... Perfect production, direction, arrangement, cuts, sampling, everything! Lou was quite unhappy with us when when didn't like his later releases ... Earbola eats the soul ...19. Newark Anonymous Clik - Newark Shit -This song reminds me of my homey DJ 3rd Rail from SD ... and the old Spike Radio show we used to do once a month together with him back in the 2000 era ... HARDCORE!!!20. Maspyke - Far East Politics -Sadly Earbola got to this crew early, because they definitely had "IT" ... Wish them the best though, for real ...21. J Zone - Calamine Lotion I 22. J Zone - Calamine Lotion II #HipHopPhilosophy was the first to bring J Zone to LA for a show (... and Jedi Mind Tricks, MF Doom, Cormega, Demigodz, Count Bass D, Percee P, Dooley O, Ed OG, etc. ...) ...23. Lord Finesse - Baby You NastyFrom the OG vinyl Baby You Nasty 12" ...

A.C. The Program Director - Mixtape #4 - Super Low-Budget Style: Still Broker Than F-ck Volume 1After releasing #1-thru-#3, lots of people who are what I call 'the game players' were hating, hiding and putting shade on HipHipPhilosophy.com and AC The PD ... I was ready to turn up the heat, speak with my hands to release lots of negative energy I got from all of the "human shade trees" in Los Angeles ... This mix is well-known for the live phone conversation between AC The PD and Jay Z from live on The Wake Up Show circa 1998 ...1. A.C. The Program Director vs. Jigga - Live On-The-Air (Wake Intro Intro II)"Just answer the damn question"...2. Roxanne Shante & Biz Markie - The Def Fresh Crew ('85)The song and the last (#22) are my dedications to the beatbox... One of the most memorable Hiphop recordings of all-time... This is who 'you know who' was biting... This is the original, not the wack re-recording...3. M.A.X. (Clutch Shooters) - My Inner Soul IV (The Masterpiece)This instrumental deserves the respect... It's not easy to get on my mixtapes... Special thanks to M.A.X., my CD's would not have come out yet without you...4. Boogie Down Productions (KRS-One) - 30 Cops or MoreNot included on the Edutainment LP... Prototype Hiphop/reggae joint... Very slept-on!...5. Aim f/Diamond D - The OmenNew Diamond D shit!... He brings back that early 90's fresh... This Aim-produced version, surprisingly, I like more than the Diamond D remix...6. Chi Ali - Chi Ali vs. Vanilla ShakeThe most slept-on joint from 'The Fabulous Chi Ali' LP... I always loved this beat...7. Doujah Raze - Looking up (instrumental)A.C. speaks, and rhymes... This b-side beat is extremely slept-on...8. A.C. Speaks With His Hands (sucker DJ medley)Inspired by and dedicated to the sucker DJ's with no ear... Some have one, some don't... Not everyone was meant to do this...9. Da Lench Mob f/Ice Cube - All On My Nut SacOne of the last two classic joints Ice Cube ever made, both from Da Lench Mob's first LP, Guerillas In The Mist (se: You And Your Heroes)... What happened Cube? You used to be so fresh...10. Gangstarr - Dough In Advance (unreleased)Not on any LP... Guru told me it's never coming out, but I saw a few bootlegs last year at Amoeba&Arons, damnit!... I have been playing this joint for three years...11. Large Professor - Bullshit (unreleased)From the unreleased Geffen Large Professor LP... I had this song in '95, and my EX-homie jacked me for it...12. Melodramatic - Letting Go Of That#4 on this singles' B-side... Very fresh, catchable beat... The A&B sides weren't nearly as dope, and I had to mix in the next record real quick before the corny singing comes in and kills the vibe...13. Compton's Most Wanted - Whose Is It? (Give It Up II)Very dope, classic, slept-on B-side... Too many kids don't know or care enough about what CMW meant and still means to Hiphop music... Three classic LP's... To me, this group means more to Hiphop than most of the current so-called 'underground' self-proclaimed legends every will...14. Mighty Casey - Making SureThe only artist on each of my first three mixtapes/CD's... Soon to return, reside and claim his Cali respect...15. Laq Nun - Weigh ScalesMost slept-on joint from the Mission Control comp.... I even slept for a minute... Dirty, raw and fresh! Just like my mixtapes...16. Alliance - I've Found ('88, unedited for first time)From the legendary First Priority (Audio Two) producer King Of Chill... Like Mahogany (Eric B & Rakim), a great example that a Hiphop love song can be done without being corny or watered-down... Thanks for the tip Marvski (What's up with a gig, gee? )...17. Porn Theatre Ushers - CatnipRare classic single.... Mr. Jason is a great slept-on producer/DJ... I'm sorry we haven't been able to put them on a 3rd Place show yet...18. Kool Keith f/Tim Dogs' - I Ain't Havin' ItKool Keith rocks this slept-on joint from Tim Dog's infamous Penicillin On Wax LP... I just put Keith's verse on this mix, and I know Tim ain't a great MC, but he made a lot of good music... Two good LP's, some classic joints...19. Mobb Deep - Shook Ones (exclusive fresh remix)Fresh mix for all you sucker DJ's who killed this song because you couldn't think of anything else to play, i.e. Tried By 12, MC's Act Like They Don't Know, Buddy, Come Clean, Times Up, etc....20. Jeru The Damaja - Great Solar StanceDopest and most slept-on joint from Jeru's dissappointing post-Primo, Super Human Klik LP... If only the whole album would have been this good...21. Louis Logic f/Grand Agents' - Service The TargetI had to put this verse on a mix... The very slept-on Louis Logic steals the show...22. Skinny Boys - Jockbox (America Loves The Skinny Boys) ('85)The grand finale! Too many kids don't know about this mid-80's classic... Pure, high energy, ultra-fresh, timeless Hiphop music!...

BANG! @southernvangard #radio Ep 198! Ohhhhhh, don’t fret, folks - we know this week isn’t your regularly scheduled program here at SVR - life just plain got in the way this week. Doe & Meeks had to handle a ton of fam & work biz this week that prevented them from dropping that regular twice a week goodness that you’re used to. Not to fret, we reached out to friend of Southern Vangard Radio, the one and only Randall Moore of The Wrecking Crew All-Stars & Techniques Radio to help us pull together DJ Jon Doe’s set from his appearance on Techniques Radio at the end of January. This thing is CHOCKED FULL of new hip-hop, and it’s all radio-edit / clean to boot - you can play this around the young ones, parents, grandparents, pastor - well, we’ll let you choose who you play it around, but you get what we mean. Anywho, there’s also an interview and freestyle session with Atlanta’s own Klok & Dager, a group comprised of MC’s Syd Vicious & Mondo Slade. They have a super dope LP out now called “The Good Fight”, make sure you cop that today and tune in NOW to that #SmithsonianGrade #TwiceAWeek #WeAreTheGard // southernvangard.com // @southernvangard on #applepodcasts #stitcherradio #soundcloud #mixcloud #youtube // #hiphop #rap #undergroundhiphop #boombap #DJ #mixshow #interview #podcast #ATL #WORLDWIDE #RIPCOMBATJACK Recorded live January 24th, 2019 @ WREK 91.1 FM / Techniques Radio, Atlanta, GA southernvangard.com @southernvangard on #applepodcasts #stitcherradio #soundcloud #mixcloud #youtube twitter/IG: @jondoeatl @southernvangard @cappuccinomeeks "Representin' Lovely" - Solomon Childs & Tone Spliff ft. Picking up where I left off the 1st part of the ‘Fresh Produce’ series, this one is numero dos….still all about Large Pro productions once again but focused on the mid/late90’s and beyond including a lot of his solo material post Main Source as well as some of the less obvious productions he’s done over the years. I could have easily made 3 or 4 volumes of this because he has so much classic material but if you like what you hear do some research on his solo projects and so on… if you know..you know…Got some mean features/tracks/verses from folks like Tragedy, Havoc, Pete Rock, Nas, Lord The Arkitec, Mad Skillz, Common, Ghostface, Raekwon, Roc Marciano, Busta Rhymes, Slick Rick, The U.N., X-Ecutioners, Grand Puba, Killa Sha, Fashawn, Styles P, AZ, Jeru Tha Damaja, Keith Murray, DJ Koss, Powerule, Mic Geronimo, Reks, Timeless Truth, Neek The Exotic, Black Rob, Cormega & Senor Kaos ft. Fresh Produce is a producer themed series focusing on some of my favorite producers and their work over the years. The first one is all about Paul aka Extra P aka Large Pro, a legend to say the least, I recently caught the Main Source reunion show in NYC and got motivated to do some research and pin down some of the best and less obvious Large Pro productions over the years and I was surprised by some of the things I found. Check the mix, featuring some early bangers from the likes of Nas, Main Source, The Don, Kool G Rap, Roxanne Shante, Apache, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Diamond, Powerule, Lord Finesse, Slick Rick, Brand New Heavies, The Jaz, Tragedy, Big L, Mobb Deep, Beastie Boys & Leaders of the New School. All tracks produced by Large Professor of course…Episode 13B (The Extra P Era) on deck and dropping soon…enjoy!

BANG! @southernvangard #radio presents the #Akinyele interview session! Now let’s get one thing straight - we were excited as HELL to have this hip-hop legend and icon on the show. Thanks to mutual friend Dr. Butcher, we managed to snag Ak for quite a lengthy chat. We first dig into his latest restaurant/club venture in South Beach, which will be the first black-owned establishment on Ocean Drive when it opens this fall. Not only that, did ya’ll know Mr. Put It In Your Mouth himself is running for MAYOR of South Beach? Yeah you read it right! Of course we get into Ak’s past and talk growing up in LeFrak City, connecting with fellow Queens legends Large Pro, Butcher, Nas and Kool G Rap to name a few, not to mention his relationship with Dame Dash, Jay-Z & Biggie. It gets deep folks - way too much to type here - but we will say the story Ak told about him, Nas and Large Pro performing at the Apollo and their dramatic post-performance escape will you have you flabbergasted and grinning from ear to ear. ‘Nuff said - push play, listen up and never forget that it’s ALWAYS that #smithsonian #grade #twiceaweek // @southernvangard on #itunes #podcast #stitcherradio #soundcloud #mixcloud // #hiphop #rap #dj #mix #interview #podcast #twiceaweek #ATL #WORLDWIDE Recorded live October 09, 2016 @ Dirty Blanket Studios, Marietta, GA southernvangard.com @southernvangard on #itunes #podcast #stitcherradio #soundcloud #mixcloud twitter/IG: @jondoeatl @southernvangard @cappuccinomeeks @beatlabusa

Yep, Jon and his wife welcomed a brand new baby boy into the world riiiiiight about the time you guys normally hit play on Tuesday’s mix show - and we’re happy to report that everyone is doing well. That being said - DO NOT DESPAIR! We just pushed back the mix show a few days, and decided to give you Ep084 AND our interview session with Stahhr all on Thursday this week! Technology and them damb Internets is amazing, ain’t it?! BANG! @southernvangard #radio presents #DrButcher #interview #session !! We’re talking about a Queens LEGEND here folks. LEGEND. When you layout the timeline of Queen’s hip-hop, this man is found at damn near the beginning. Given most of know Butcher as a phenomenal DJ/producer. we kick off the session discussing the influence of early hip-hop DJ’s like DJ Earthquake, DJ Polo (of Kool G Rap fame) and his crew The Spinmasters, as well as The Disco Twins. However, Butcher’s initial craft was rhyming - including an early group he formed with LL Cool J called The Extravagant Three, battling his way through Queens alongside Kool G Rap during his teenage years and the influence of Silver Fox on a young LL, G Rap and others. Say what?!? We eventually get into Butcher’s DJ/producer years and talk about his affiliation with the X-Men/X-ecutioners and helping a young Rob Swift train, his close relationships with production monsters Paul C and Large Pro, producing monumental soundscapes for Kool G Rap & Akinyele in the early to mid-90s and his soon-come producer LP that is around the corner. Mpire Releases"Lionshead" which is found on their new album $ON$ 0F VNVRCHY out now.We now go to Johannesburg, South Africa to hear Lunga Sithole aka Rytious.  Raised in Umlazi N-section in Durban Kwa Zulu Natal, he was given the name “Rytious” by his dentist who looked up the meaning of his name "Lunga" which means RighteousnessThis was sent directly to our email, 1520ClassicRadio@gmail.comThe track is Rytious ft Kage, and is called "Till Death".New York's own Dro Pesci, no stranger to our show has submitted a few tracks, one of which is "Let the Weed Burn" with Infamous Haze, Featuring Domonic.  From what we gather is about lawn care?  Juuuust kidding....Light em' if ya got em'!Mpire comes back with another dosage of the track "Smack" with a remix on the Scram Jones produced beat with Murda Mook and AG Da Coroner.  With the same energy, pulsating beat and new MC's on the track, this has prolonged life and still bangs hard in the whip!Miami Florida's very own Lex One comes in with a A dope re-edit of Commons classic "I Used To Love H.E.R".  The new re-work of this timeless classic is called "She Used to Love Me" Featuring Lucian White.Upcoming NYC artist Taj Mahal gives us the 411 on a powerhouse track called "211" featuring Rrose Rrome & A-Mafia. This is going to appear on the upcoming mixtape "Power"Ben iLLa blesses us with another track from the free downloadable "Soldier of the Universe" with a song called "Universe Heart Beat".  Keeping the track pulse flowing is of course production by Atlanta's own E. SmittyNomis from Ipswitch, UK provides us with "Raised Up"Nomis has already released plenty of new music and and is currently working on his new project entitled"Diamonds EP". The release date is yet to be announced.Dro Pesci always delivers a banging track and fresh lyrics.  This time it's a new single from "Groundhog Day" called "Time to Win", produced by Sensei Walingh from Germany.Stef Owens from Champ City, Ohio brings us a track called "Whats Up (Dollar Bill)"  Little is known about Stef Owens, and given "Champ City" sounds like a Super Hero city name, there is a great chance that Stef is incognito by design.Spit Gemz from Queens New York gives us "Legacy" feat. Kool G Rap (prod by Jordy Simons).  This song is just astounding in it's composition, sound, and delivery.  Kool G Rap and Spit Gemz create a very formidable duo.  Don't sleep on this one!If New York sound Hip-Hop has a savior, the name would be Frank Castle, with a song called "Daily Word" Feat. Kool G Rap (Prod. By Soe95).  Born and raised in New York City’s very own Chelsea Elliot projects in the westside downtown section of Manhattan, comes an underground artist with incredible lyrical wordplay, and story telling ablilty his name is “Frank Castle”Castle hopes to fufill his dream as a MC and as a hip hop artist and give him and H.O.O.D.Billionaires (H.O.O.D. Brothers) the exposure they deserve, and bring that “New York sound” back to hip-hop.With another E.Smitty produced opus, we have Struggle the Blind Chemist and a track called "Rugged Times".  From North Carolina, Struggle doesn't break a sweat on the pounding drums and soundscape created by the Atlanta beatsmith.  We can't wait to hear more!Dj Flatline closes up the show with a sick a** mix, again, reinforcing why he is the "Chosen One".  As we enter into DJ Flatline's operating room, we are blessed with choice cuts and all the expertise that a Hip-Hop DJ must possess.  Prepare to be amazed! Here are the tracks DJ Flatline spins:1. Yelawolf - Sky Is The Limit2. Schoolboy Q - Break The Bank (prod by The Alchemist)3. AG - Boss of Bosses (Dj Flatline Blend)4.
