With the Garveys and Olesons now living in Winoka, everyone seems to be settling in. All except Charles who hates living in the city, Caroline who is essentially living in the hotel kitchen, Alice who's trying to start a school in a Livery, Jonathan whose unemployed, Mr.Oleson is helping to manage the saloon while also housing his family inside and Harriet who has become a barmaid to send her kids to the elite private school. The only people who seem to be getting by are Mary and Adam Kendall over at the school for the blind. Meanwhile, Albert is still up to his usually life style choices, thievery and shinning shoes. As everyone continues to try and acclimate to the city life there is plans for Mary's Sweet Sixteen...nothing yells out happy birthday like presents, cake, cards, music and a bloodied and battered Charles. What is Harriet's work schedule since the Saloon mostly functions at night? Will Young Boy Standish learn that you don't miss with a Country Girl? When will Charles learn he is a Farmer not a fighter? "Can I have some popcorn?" Andy inquires as the Garvey Family celebrates the best crop they've ever had and share their plans of what to do with the sales. But in the prairieverse, never count the chickens before they hatch....corn before it's popped. The family, in a accident, manage to lose their barn and their entire Corn crop leaving them near destitute. As Jonathan recovers from the burn wounds he has, he also has to tend to new ones: alleged Burn wounds from his wife's words. Which makes him believe he is being belittled. Not only that, when Alice Garvey steps up and finds a job to finically support her family, Johnthan forces her to turn it down, because he won't accept charity from his wife. And to prove it, he sells their horse team to help the family get by. The Horse team what would have been their one way out of this predicament. From here it's Family Quarrel (S1 Ep 16) all over again. Minus the failed trip to mankato for work and the farmland extension. There are small moments where it seems the Garveys might get back to together but only end with scenes of them fighting. Eventually Traveling Judge Picker arrives in Walnut Grover to legally direct the first Divorce we've seen in the prairieverse...or is it? How long have the Garveys been married? Will Caroline ever realize she's a terrible liar? How many shirts does Charles own?

HBO's The Leftovers S01E09 "The Garveys At Their Best" is reviewed and analysed by the SAP's Podcast crew. The ninth in our podcast series reviewing HBO's The Leftovers - episode by episode! [Unofficial]
It's a whole new town, whole new bunch of characters, and a whole new season of The Leftovers! Yeah, that's right, we're taking a deep dive into the first episode of Season 2, "Axis Mundi". We don't see our Mapleton favorites for most of the episode, but we get a crash course in miracles, specifically Miracle, Texas, sometimes also known as Jarden. We also meet the Murphys, Evie, John, Michael, and Erika (played by the incomparable Regina King!). First though, a very weird intro set in the past - way in the past - where a prehistoric woman gives birth under not-so-great circumstances and then won't wash her face. Plus, lots of other questions. What's up with Evie running through the woods naked? Why does Erika has a live bird in a box? Is John as sinister as he seems (and where is that damn cricket)? If Isaac can really predict the future, why does it make John so mad? Do the Garveys really have it all together? (Yup, they do show up eventually!)
We're watching and discussing the ninth and penultimate episode of The Leftovers, season 1 - "The Garveys at Their Best". It's the Garveys when everything was great before the Departure! Or were things really so great? Because their amazing modern house has CRACKS IN THE FOUNDATION (foreshadowing alert). Kevin's not too happy and Laurie is downright condescending. Patti knows something is going to happen. But tween Jill is adorable, Kevin Sr. is the Mapleton Man of the Year (and NOT hearing voices), the West Wing's Donna Moss is going to be designated driver. Uh oh. Hosted by Lisa Carroll Tremblay and Ken Cornwell Produced and Edited by Cole Tremblay Theme music by Bond

In which we find out just how the Garveys wound up in the creepy house beside the Murphys.
In which we get a pretty shocking peek into the pre-departure lives of our faves.
In case you thought might be watching an entirely different show over the last couple of weekends with the Murphys and the newly reconstituted Garveys in Jarden, TX, Tom and Laurie bring the bleak as they try to reclaim wayward Guilty Remnant members back into humanity. No, the GR has not gone away and in fact, they've found a new leader who's willing to do anything to show how upset she feels with Laurie (I'm not going to tell who though!) Fair warning, the sense of humor of the last two episodes must come with the new location because there are no laughs back in the old neighborhood where Tom and Laurie cohabit. Listen to some ideas on why that new GR leader might have did what she did and other deep thoughts as we examine this week's episode. Chris Zylka was pretty impressed we had a National Geographic with us. If you can't remember, this is what the actor that plays Tommy looks like with all of his clothes on. Direct iTunes Link. In this episode, we catch up with a newly-born incarnation of the Garveys with Kevin and Jill greeting Nora Durst and baby Lily into the clan. The scene in Mapleton has gotten stale, and Kevin needs a change of scenery so they pack up a U-haul, hook it up to the Dog-killer's Dodge Ram, and make their way to Jarden, TX, population 9,261 (otherwise known as the largest city in the world with no departures). Team Daley Review dives into this episode and brings some of what we saw in person on location in Lockhart, TX into the conversation as it relates to the buildings and... geography (get it?). Rookie MINA HARIGAE was not only the 2009 Player of the Year and the Rookie of the Year, but she might have also been the surprise player of the year. Not that anyone thought the Californian couldn’t play – just that at age 19, when she emerged as the winner of back-to-back titles at the Ladies Titan Tire Challenge in Iowa, and at the Tour’s only 72-hole major championship, the Michelob ULTRA Duramed FUTURES Players Championship in Decatur, Ill., and even then, adding a third season title at the Falls Auto Group Classic in Kentucky, Harigae was starting to look like a young pro with a bright, bright future and ice water in her veins.By season’s end on Sunday last week, Harigae had earned $88,386 in 16 events, in addition, had also earned honors as Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year.“Last year, I would have never thought I’d be in this position,” said Harigae. “I feel like I grew as a player and a person on the Duramed FUTURES Tour. My main goal was to earn my full [LPGA] card, but getting Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year was like getting double icing on the cake.” Toronto, Ontario -- Canadian-based Phresh Wear Inc. will be launching their Spring 2010 line to the United States. Phresh prides itself on being a fresh, new take on the classics. Consumers no longer need to choose between fashion and function as the line continues to bridge the gap between performance and style. The company's slogan "Passion, Performance, Play" not only describes the spirit of the line but the people behind it.Founder Tim Tochor conceived the line in 2003. An avid golfer that played several mini-tour events, Tochor realized that his talents would be better used outside of simply playing the game. He realized that individuality was something that golf apparel lacked and the changing demographic of the sport demanded more options. The more youthfully-minded golfers entering the market were not interested in the traditional apparel that was commonplace on the course. In addition, these players insist on a very functional, wearable line that not only allowed them to express themselves but that also didn't inhibit their game.Teaming up with a stellar designer possessing 20 years of textile, forecasting, and design experience, Tochor manufactured a line that met the needs of the new golf demographic. First introduced at the 2004 Ontario PGA show in Toronto, the line received wildly enthusiastic reviews. The "Phresh appeal" and buzz started and has continued to grow. In 2008 Score Golf nominated Phresh Wear as the most emerging Canadian company of the year. The processes of localized production and design assure the company has control of their offerings and allows them to remain a step ahead of the market. With shorter lead times and private label options, they are still able to maintain affordable price points. The Phresh Spring 2010 collection is a reflection of the current times. With colors that reflect the feeling one has when they play the game, the overall theme is one that goes back to basics and strips out the superfluous. The sentiment is one that allows a well-deserved opportunity to unwind and while reconnecting with what is truly important and the drive to get there. The moods are evident; turquoise for the calming water of the ocean, grove is a relaxing siesta in the orange groves, and aloe invokes those soothing properties of the plant. Earthy colors ground the line with clay, coal, peat, and moss while crystal, maize, and orchid are meant to be more of a stress-relief. Anchored by classics such as navy, white, and black there is something for everyone to feel comfortable and confident in. Styles for Spring 2010 also utilize a sporty yet patriotic vibe that incorporates both classic and modern lines.Phresh Wear is carried by fine pro shops and resorts throughout the United States. In Canada they can be found in Summerland Golf Club, Mandarin Golf Club, Oakdale Golf Club, Glen Abbey, King Valley, Vancouver Golf Club, and the fine menswear store Frackeltons and Garveys. For more information visit the company website at www.phreshwear.com Avila Beach Golf Resort - www.avilabeachresort.com Blacklake Golf Resort - www.blacklake.comInn at Avila Beach - www.avilabeachca.comAvila LaFonda Hotel - www.avilalafondahotel.comGolfland Warehouse - www.golflandwarehouse.comSlickstix - www.slickstix.comFor more information on Golf Talk Radio with Mike & Billy visit www.golftalkradio.com and visit www.centralcoasttoday.com for Golf Talk TV with Mike & Billy.
