Bournemouth registered their HIGHEST amount of possession at a home Premier League game this season on Saturday, having the ball 69% of the time. Unai Emery's game-plan meant that his side didn't need much of the ball, and with Iraola's men consistently coming up against a disciplined and well-oiled unit, Aston Villa out-Bournemouthed Bournemouth. It felt like a very un-Villa like performance, but it would have been everything their Basque boss wanted - resolute at the back, not giving our wingers anything, and when you've got someone like Ollie Watkins on hand to sniff out a goal, they then had something to hold on to. From that point, it was always an uphill battle! Sam Davis, Ben Phillips and Neil Dawson discuss the game! Thanks to ComAve for Ben's opportunity. We've touched on the subject of religion in politics before but we thought we would round out 2024 specifically looking at the role of Christianity in Welsh politics. In some ways it could be argued that Welsh politics only really exists thanks to Welsh nonconformist campaigning that led to the first Wales-only legislation since the 1500s with the Sunday Closing (Wales) Act 1881, followed by the disestablishment of the Church of England in 1920. In much more recent times we have the famous referendums on keeping Sundays wet/dry, we have the national and union parliament votes on assisted dying, and we have perpetual questions about how free political representatives and leaders should and can be to carry their faith into their political lives. To discuss, we are joined by:- Hannah Rich, Director of Christians on the Left and Senior Researcher at the Theos Think Tank: https://bsky.app/profile/hannahmerich.bsky.social- Ben Phillips, a researcher in music, religion and culture at the University at Durham: https://bsky.app/profile/liturgicalben.bsky.social The pod also features a special sign off from our own Matthew Hexter! I asked Ben here to let us look over his shoulder into his crystal ball to chart the future course of the asset management industry. First Ben draws on the experience of his career in asset management consulting which has spanned over a quarter century. We look at factors such as the: ·   Growing demand for customization of product ·   Generational changes and how this affects client demand ·   What role “mission or purpose” plays in this evolution of demand and what this means for sustainable investment solutions. ·   The evolution of Mutual Funds ·   The key role of data and data-driven approaches in the evolution of the industry. ·  What role AI will play and whether we will see the birth of the new, more intelligent robo-advisor? We look then at the evolution of asset management as a service industry rather than simply as a provider of product, and look at the importance of a dynamic client development function. The Pruitt Igoe housing complex in St. Louis that was built in the 1950s and infamously demolished in the 1970s has been touted by many as a cautionary tale against public housing projects. But its history is complex. In 2012 it was reported that Pruitt Igoe was in a region targeted by the Military for secret tests that were part of a radiological weapons development program. According to government documents obtained by sociologist and researcher Dr. Lisa Martino-Taylor, the Army referred to the test area a “Densely Populated Slum District.”Now Pruitt Igoe is back in national headlines. Ben Phillips and Chester Deans, both former residents of the Pruitt Igoe housing complex, are spearheading efforts to have the government recognize its wrong doing, release more information about the its covert actions, and compensate residents of Pruitt-Igoe and surrounding areas. They hope to have residents of the area added to a bill working its way through congress that seeks to compensate residents that were exposed to radiation during cold war era production of nuclear weapons in St. louis. In this episode of Breaking Green we will talk with Dr. Lisa Martino-Taylor, the sociologist and researcher who examined the St. Louis open-air experiments for her doctoral dissertation at the University of Missouri Columbia, and after more than a decade of research wrote a book called Behind the Fog: How the US Cold War Radiological Weapons Program Exposed Innocent Americans. We will also talk with Ben Phillips who prior to spearheading the recent push for justice for former residents of Pruitt Igoe, received a degree in sociology from the University of Missouri at St. Louis. Phillips had a distinguished career in public service as well as St. Louis and Missouri politics. Most financial advisors ignore Gen Z thinking they don't have capital. But this is a big, fat $100 million mistake. Why? Well, Gen Z has more than $100 million in buying power. They make up 20% of the population. And if you don't start getting ahead of this trend now, you might find yourself without a business in 10-15 years. That's the bad news. The good news? In this episode, Ben Phillips from North Coast Asset Management and host of the Gen Z and Friends podcast, joins me to reveal how to market to Gen Z (without coming across as a cringy Gen Xer). Listen now. Show highlights include: How to tap into a segment of the population that has over $100 million in buying power (that most financial advisors ignore) (4:20) The one social media platform that 95% of Gen Z and millennials use almost daily (4:42) The “Four C's” approach for marketing to Gen Z that makes them salivate about the idea of working with you (8:51) Why pandering to Gen Z by making cringy TikTok dances repels them away instead of attracting them (and how to stop pandering) (16:23) The counterintuitive way offline events work better for landing Gen Z clients than online ones (18:51) Why bashing crypto as dumb today is a surefire way to evaporate your sales pipeline and business 10 years from now (23:40) If you'd like to connect with Ben on social media, you can find him on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/bensbullsandbears/ and LinkedIn here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/benphillips5/ Need help getting more clients as a financial advisor? We talked about her new podcast "What's mine is yours", her life, music, sacrifices, she told some GREAT stories to a whole lot more. This was a very raw & candid conversation! We ween deep on the business side of music with no holding back! WOW!Named a Taste of Country Artist to Watch and a CMT “Next Up Now” artist, Tiffany Woys grew up being influenced by powerhouse vocalists such as LeAnn Rimes, Faith Hill, Celine Dion, Michael Jackson and Carrie Underwood. As a child, she'd look for any opportunity to get up and sing in front of people, and by the time she hit 20, she was recording an independent album and hitting the road. After honing her stage presence by performing relentlessly at venues and events up and down the West Coast, often for more than three hours at a time, she followed her dreams to Nashville. Her brand-new EP, All About Love, released on March 18. Tiffany has enlisted some of Nashville's top powerhouse songwriters for the six songs, including tracks co-written by Hannah Ellis, Tammi Kidd, Sara Haze, Emily Shackelton, John Kennedy, busbee, and more. The project is produced by Tammi Kidd Hutton and Ben Phillips and features the recently released powerful version of LeAnn Rimes' “Probably Wouldn't Be This Way,” and her current radio single, “I Don't Want You Back,” Tiffany's sixth charted song on Billboard's National Country Radio Indicator Chart.
