Utah Jazz vs. LA Lakers NBA Pick Prediction 4/19/2021 by Tony T. Jazz at Lakers—Free pick is LA Lakers +5. Lakers have covered five of seven. Past five games they are shooting 46.6% with 38% from three. Jazz has a losing spread record on the road. In the month of April the Jazz sit 21st in road defensive efficiency allowing 115.6 points per 100 possessions and 24th on offense with 108.5 points per 100. That is a negative rating of -7.1. Lakers supporting cast listed as probable on the injury report. Big injury for Utah as Donovan Mitchell is out. Favors and Ilyasova are both questionable. This month the Lakers sit fourth best in the league in defensive efficiency. Play LA Lakers +5.

The Degens couldn't seem to agree on a whole lot today in the NBA. Excerpts from Max's Notes: NBA Hawks at Wizards The Bullets are coming off an awful loss on Wednesday as they continue to deal with injuries. They will be happy to welcome the Hawks into town. Atlanta is losers of 2 in a row despite Trae Young’s continued great play. Bradley Beal is questionable for tonight and the Bullets being a slight favorite like this and not getting the home 3 could be indicative that he’s out again. Pelicans at Knicks The Knicks return home after 5 consecutive road losses. The last two have been absolutely atrocious. But MSG is where they won their last game a little over a week ago. The Pelicans are coming off a nice win over the Bulls on Wednesday and are inching closer to getting Zion back. The Pelicans are 7-3 straight up and 8-1-1 ATS over their last 10. The Knicks are the fucking the Knicks. Maybe being at home will help them but even getting some big lines they are only 8-9 ATS at home. Heat at Nets The Heat aren’t a great road team but they got a nice one against the Pacers and now head to Brooklyn to face a Nets team that has lost 7 in a row. Other than the Kyrie injury, the Nets have been impacted by the poor shooting of Spencer Dinwiddie. He carried that team for so long and is a reason that they are now slumping. Dinwiddie will get hot again soon and the Nets will start playing better. This game is trappish. Spurs at Grizzlies The Spurs upset the Celtics on Wednesday and now head to Memphis to play Ja Morant and the Grizzlies. Both teams have little win streaks going on and are pretty close record wise. Both teams are pretty similar ATS and straight up over their last 10. Sharp money seems to be on the Grizzlies right now. Pacers at Bulls The Pacers have lost 3 of 4 as the injury to Malcom Brogdon has been a huge hit on them. Now Sabonis is day-to-day and Indiana has to to hit the road tonight. Thankfully, they head to Chicago to play a Bulls team that has lost 5 in a row. The Pacers are the better team and should get back to their winning ways. Magic at Suns Orlando has played much like they did last season. They are a team of streaks and right now they are doing well as they’ve won 4 of 5. Other than the Heat, the wins have been lesser opponents and it’s hard to know if Phoenix is a lesser opponent or not. The Suns are seemingly healthy but they’ve lost two in a row and have yet to capture that same success they had before Ayton was suspended. The money is overwhelmingly on Phoenix. Hornets at Jazz Charlotte was able to hang with the Raptors and fell short in OT but now travel to Utah where the Jazz have won 7 in a row and 9 of 10. Utah is also 8-2 ATS in their last 10 and boast a stellar home record at 14-3. Lakers at Mavericks Anthony Davis is listed as questionable and LeBron is listed as probable. Not what you want to hear when you are the Lakers and heading to Dallas to play Luka and the Mavs. LA has won 6 in a row and will take on a Mavs team missing one of their key players as Porzingis is once again out. Dallas is only 7-12-1 ATS at home and the Lakers are a damn good road team. I don’t like this one at all. Bucks at Kings San Antonio beat up the Celtics this week but let’s not forget they also destroyed the Bucks too. Thankfully for Milwaukee they bounced back and got a win over the Warriors and get a shot at another less than average California team. The Kings have won 3 of 4 and maybe can start playing to the level we expected them to play after their breakout season last year. Giannis is listed as probable so he should go but Ilyasova is questionable for the Bucks. The Kings will be without Bogdanovich again and Bagley is listed as questionable. Warriors at Clippers Paul George is out for the Clippers and Vegas is still okay with making this a big double digit spread. I just wonder if you can trust the Clippers to cover. They’ve laid a few eggs lately with a blowout loss to Memphis and a close call with the Knicks. They are 5-5 ATS in their last 10 and just 11-8 ATS at home this season. But it’s the Warriors and they really don’t have any healthy bodies. D’Angelo Russell might end up playing tonight but even that’s not a given. NHL Senators at Red Wings Matchup of the fucking century here. The Senators have lost 5 in a row and travel to Detroit to play a Red Wings team that has the worst goal differential in the league by 30 goals. Detroit did pick up a win this week and I don’t expect many more from them this season. Coyotes at Hurricanes The Coyotes let me down yesterday and it doesn’t get much easier for them today. They head to Carolina to take one a Hurricanes team that is coming off a nice win on Tuesday over the Flyers. The issue for Arizona right now is their goalie as they are forced to depend on backup of the backup Adin Hill. Penguins at Avalanche The Avalanche return home after going 1-2 on their New York/New Jersey road trip. They play a Penguins team that is fresh off a road win over the Golden Knights and who might get Sidney Crosby back today. I’m sure the Penguins will be cautious. They have done well without Crosby the past few months and part of that is due to excellent goaltending by Tristan Jarry. In 53 games with the 76ers a season ago, Ersan Ilyasova proved to be a valuable fit, and helpful veteran presence in the locker room. When the opportunity to reacquire the stretch four forward presented itself earlier this month, the Sixers pounced. On this March 19th episode of The BroadCast, Sixers.com’s Brian Seltzer sits down with Ilyasova. The two discuss Ilyasova’s return to the team, a nickname he first acquired after joining the Sixers last year, and the art of taking a charge.
Keith Smith and Pete Toal are back at it going around the league discussing all the movement throughout the league. Corey Brewer got bought out and is going to OKC, Trevor Booker got waived and Ilyasova was brought in by Philly.
