Piše Katarina Mahnič, bereta Eva Longyka Marušič in Igor Velše. Jure Godler, vsestranski ustvarjalec – glasbenik, skladatelj, komedijant, imitator, televizijski voditelj in zmeraj bolj tudi pisatelj – je v novi knjigi Mrtvi kot prekinil serijo vohunskih romanov (ki jih sestavlja kar pet komičnih peripetij dinamičnega agentskega dua Spencerja & Novaka) in napisal kriminalni roman, ki je, kot pravi, »bolj v klasičnem slogu Agate Christie«. Preusmeritev iz vohunskega v kriminalni žanr, iz napete adrenalinske satire v možgane kravžljajoči »whodunit«, mu gre odlično od rok oziroma izpod peresa, zato razveseljivo prebrati, da je Mrtvi kot otvoritvena kriminalka nove serije o razreševanju umorov, ki na sceno postavlja še enega detektivskega knjižnega junaka. Poleg dveh najbolj znanih in priljubljenih slovenskih kriminalističnih inšpektorjev, Demšarjevega redkobesednega Martina Vrenka in Golobovega mrkega Tarasa Birse, smo zdaj dobili še pragmatičnega detektiva Hermana Arha, ki se enemu od protagonistov zdi kot kakšen lik iz starega francoskega detektivskega filma. »Arh je dejansko deloval kot nekdo, ki je s časovnim strojem pripotoval iz preteklosti, če že ne zaradi videza, pa zaradi svojega besedišča. Bradati mož z očali je bil oblečen v retro laneno srajco z ovratnikom, ki mu je padala čez trebuh. Hlače je prav tako nosil iz nekih drugih časov, s širokimi hlačnicami in globokim sedlom, najbolj pa je v oči bodel ogromen panamski klobuk bele barve s črnim trakom.« Naslov Mrtvi kot se poigrava s slepim kotom, ki vozniku kljub zrcalom ostane skrito. To je zgodba o dveh prijateljih, ki se poznata že od vrtca in si ne bi mogla biti bolj različna. Bojan, glavni pripovedovalec oziroma zapisovalec, je v tem odnosu grdi raček, Maksimilijan Pinter, na kratko Maks, pa narcističen labod in neusmiljen lomilec dekliških src. Ni čudno, da so se njune poti v mladeniški dobi za več let ločile, in ko se spet srečata in prijateljstvo obnovita, je Maks, ki se je vrnil iz tujine, že kriptomilijonar z lastnim prostornim stanovanjem in še enim, v katerega nastani babico. Tudi dekle ima; spoznal jo je sicer prek spleta in o njej bolj malo ve, a videti je zaljubljen in prepričan v uspeh njune zveze. Bojana zvleče na večerjo k svoji osovraženi družini, kjer jim z velikim užitkom razkrije, da je zdaj bogataš, vendar se lahko za njegov denar obrišejo pod nosom. Najboljšega prijatelja in svojo punco Klariso povabi tudi na svojo razkošno jadrnico, zasidrano na Hrvaškem. Po francoskem bendu, ki sta ga z Bojanom poslušala kot otroka, jo je imenoval Angle mort – Mrtvi kot. In prav na njenem krovu se Maks po prekrokani noči zjutraj zbudi med okrvavljenimi rjuhami, o Klarisi pa ni ne duha ne sluha. Bojan mu nesebično priskoči na pomoč in se na vse kriplje trudi zakriti prijateljev domnevni zločin, a ta je zaradi šoka že začel izgubljati razum in ukrepati po svoje. Roman Mrtvi kot ni krvav in ni na silo intelektualen, pa tudi psihološki triler ni, čeprav ima psihologija v njem pomembno vlogo. Korektno upraviči vse zahteve in pričakovanja kriminalnega žanra, ne bi pa bil nič posebnega, če ga avtor ne bi napisal dinamično in rahlo sarkastično, v živahnem jeziku, polnem iskrivih dialogov, z dobrim ravnotežjem med komedijo in tragedijo, ter ga začinil z zanimivo zgradbo in dobršno mero čudaštva. Po godlerjevsko pač. Tukaj je tragični junak Maks, ki mu nenadno bogastvo prav nič ne pomaga vzdrževati njegove že od najstništva nestabilne psihe. Tukaj so Maksova disfunkcionalna družina, ki jo provociranje sina milijonarja in apetiti po njegovem denarju še bolj raztreščijo; pa njegova ljubljena prebrisana babica Marjanca, ki pred vsemi drugimi družinskimi člani hlini nepokretnost in demenco, da se jim maščuje, ker so jo vtaknili v dom. Tukaj je Klarisa, skrivnostna Maksova ljubica, o kateri pa bralec izve tako malo, kot malo ve o njej Maks; razen da je bila prikupno dekle. In tukaj je izmuzljivi Bojan, ki v zgodbi, ki jo je sam zapisal, izpade kar preveč prijateljsko vdan, dobronameren in razumevajoč, skoraj viteški. Zanimivo je, da se detektiv Herman Arh pojavi šele v osmem poglavju, na dobri polovici romana, ko ga kot Slovenca, ki dopustuje na Hrvaškem, hrvaški kolegi povabijo, da prevzame primer izginule slovenske potnice na jadrnici Angle mort. Drzno odločitev, da osrednji lik kriminalistične preiskave uvede tako pozno, je pisatelj pojasnil z besedami, da je odlika dobre detektivke zaplet sam, kombinacija motivov in vzgibov in tudi ustvarjalnost umora samega. Detektiv po njegovem sodi v drugi plan, »a vseeno deluje kot katalizator, ki na koncu razkrije vse podrobnosti in pojasni okoliščine umora«. Arh na koncu Bojanove izpovedi na pičlih desetih straneh v Pripisu res razplete zamotano štorijo, vendar pojasnilo za bralca ni popoln šok, saj se mu je tu in tam marsikaj poblisknilo že prej. Morda je največja pomanjkljivost te, sicer kratkočasne in duhovite kriminalke ta, da se pogled med branjem ne znajde prav pogosto v mrtvem kotu. Pravzaprav se z njim resnično in dokončno sreča le Maks Pinter, kar posrečeno ubesedi Herman Arh: »Zlo se mu je mojstrsko prihulilo v mrtvi kot. In niti najmanjšega opozorila ni dalo od sebe.« Zanimivo bo opazovati, kakšno mesto si bo novi detektiv izboril v družbi drugih fiktivnih stanovskih kolegov; poleg dveh že omenjenih jih v slovenskem trenutno močno zastopanem kriminalističnem žanru kar mrgoli. Občutek imam, da se bo dobro znašel.

Ime tedna je postal Bojan Pollak, alpinist in gorski vodnik, ki mu je Planinska zveza Slovenije podelila najvišje priznanje – naziv častni član – za življenjsko delo. V planinski organizaciji je opravljal številne organizacijske naloge, veliko se je ukvarjal z vzgojo in izobraževanjem, velik pečat pa je pustil tudi na področju vodništva in izobraževanja vodnikov. Ob 40-letnici sistematičnega soočanja z epidemijo HIV/AIDS je prejela priznanje Ministrstva za zdravje za svoje dolgoletno strokovno delo.   Nino Flisar, bibliotekar, urednik, avtor in selektor projekta Poezija na mestnih ulicah, ki ga Mladinski kulturni center Maribor izvaja že osemnajsto leto. Gre za pobudo, ki na Ta veseli dan kulture namesto oglasov s poezijo nagovarja mimoidoče meščanke in meščane ter v urbano okolje prinaša trenutke domišljije in presenečenja. Letos so v projektu priložnost prvič ponudili najmlajši generaciji pesnic in pesnikov, ki si šele utirajo svojo pesniško pot in so na plakate in z mestom delili svojo intimno in osebno poezijo.
