Our guest this week is Madelyne Paulk, the Marketing and Communications Manager at Jet It. I recently met Madelyne at an aviation conference, and I was drawn to how genuine, professional, and personable she is. Moments after speaking with her, I immediately knew she would be a great guest to feature on this podcast, and her perspective on diversity and inclusion would be valuable to the audience. Madelyne had some reservations initially because she was new to aviation, which was precisely why her story was important to share with you.Madelyne started her career in aviation with Jet It in 2020 after completing her master's degree program. With little knowledge of the industry, she took a chance and started as a Marketing Intern. Since then, Madelyne has worked her way up to Marketing Manager, where she is able to lead and guide marketing efforts to build brand awareness. Passionate about service and DE&I, Madelyne volunteers with the RedTail Flight Academy helping them plan their inaugural graduation ceremony and consulting on their marketing efforts. Outside of aviation, she also sits on the Lowcountry Advisory Board for Multiplying Good, a national nonprofit focused on elevating public service and empowering the next generation of servant leaders.

Our guest today, Vishal Hiremath, has been working in the aviation sector for quite some time and it was precisely during one of those professional assignments, at Honda Jet that he realized there was plenty of potential in this small but very capable and versatile aircraft manufactured by the aerospace branch of the famous Japanese firm. This led him to co-found Jet It, together with his business partner Glenn Gonzales. Jet It is a fractional jet ownership company that is based on a fleet of Honda Jet aircraft. After initial success in the US, they have now expanded to Canada and hopped across the Atlantic to Europe, where it operates under the Jet Club brand. The chance to learn more about this interesting little aircraft, that I have had the chance to examine, on occasion, from up close at air shows, piqued my curiosity, but what finally decided me to reach out to the founders of Jet It/JetClub to get them on the podcast is the fact that they are already looking beyond this original Honda Jet focus and preparing to go electric. Earlier in 2021, Jet It announced it is going to become the launch customer for the Bye eFlyer 800, a sleek, disruptive all-electric aircraft that, with lower costs and no emissions, aims to disrupt the private flying scene (we have had the chance to cover on a previous podcast how executive aviation can be a test bank for new ideas and technologies!)Tune in for our chat with Vishal, in which we talk (despite some technical difficulties, we recorded it on mobile during a car trip) on about his entrepreneurial journey, how to build an executive aviation business that is active on both sides of the Atlantic and also how he is preparing his company to enter the new era of fossil-free aviation!
From fighter pilot to the owner of a fleet of luxury aircraft. Alex MacPhail talks to Glenn Gonzales who is the co-founder and CEO of Jet It,Gonzales, a Lieutenant Colonel Air Force veteran, started his career flying F-15s in 2005. He served as an instructor pilot and was later deployed to Kyrgyzstan. He transitioned to the reserves in 2009 and began working at planemaker Gulfstream while pursuing his MBA at the University of South Carolina. The Houston native had his first brush with elite travel while demonstrating flights for executives and high net worth customers. He met his future co-founder, Vishal Hiremath, who also worked in sales at Gulfstream, in 2013. After flying to India, they were stuck together for a week because the plane needed repairs. The following year, he went to work at Honda Aircraft Company, managing sales for the Northeast region. For years, he kept hearing the same complaint from customers, that they loved HondaJets but couldn't justify the cost of buying a plane. In 2016, he started planning to launch his own business and currently he captains flights for Jet It occasionally.ALEX MACPHAILEmail: alex@alexmacphail.co.zaTwitter: https://twitter.com/AlexMacPhail1Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alexmacphail99LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/flyingmogulYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCztTx1LzCAnC4woeNOpU5-AWebsite: http://www.alexmacphail.co.zaAlex MacPhail Podcast - LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/alexmacphailpodcast GLENN GONZALESLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/glenn-gonzales-285167bWebsite: https://www.gojetit.com

When building a business, it is easy to be blinded by the big, flashy measures of success. And when your heart and mind are set on acquiring more customers, getting more investors, hiring more people, and scaling the business as fast as possible… you can quickly lose sight of the daily wins that lead to lasting growth with higher impact."Defining successes is fairly simple for us. The first step of that is number one, we have to operate safely. If we're not operating safely, we will not have customers. ... The next thing we have to do is make sure that people are happy. How do we make sure that people are happy? Listen to them, understand their needs, be compassionate, and empathetic to what's going on in their world, and make sure to be there."That's Glenn Gonzales, an Air Force Academy graduate, a Lt Colonel in the U.S. Air Force Reserves, and the founder and CEO of Jet It, a hybrid ownership program that provides customers with access to round-the-clock private travel. In Glenn's 40 years of aviation experience, he's learned that finding long-term success isn't about scaling and scaling fast, it's about staying true to your core values and focusing on delivering an amazing customer experience, one plane ride at a time.

My guest on this episode is Glenn Gonzales. Glenn is the founder and CEO of Jet It, a fractional share private jet business with a unique model serving customers across the country and in Europe. Prior to founding Jet It, Glenn was an F-15 pilot in the Air Force and sold private jets on behalf of Gulfstream and Honda. This episode is a deep dive into all options available for business owners who want to fly private. If you want to explore private travel options, fly private more frequently, or even buy an aircraft directly to make your business and personal travel more efficient, this episode is for you. We talk about high level benefits to flying private and what factors to consider when evaluating your options. We walk through each of the four core private travel models – charter, jet cards, fractional ownership, direct ownership – along with their pros and cons and what kind of person or business each is meant for. After diving into each model, we talk about how Glenn's company Jet It fits into the private travel ecosystem and where that ecosystem is headed in the future. Finally, I ask him what it is like flying an F-15.
