The city has detected 38 cases of “pediatric multi-system inflammatory syndrome” — an alarming condition linked with coronavirus. It claimed one young life in the Big Apple so far, Mayor de Blasio said yesterday. The case number of 38 is up from the “last count,” when there were 15 instances of the condition, Hizzoner said.

Mayor de Blasio said Sunday the city has enough medical supplies, with the exception of ventilators, to last until April 5.

A wrong-way driver cops believe was drunk or high sparked a three-car collision on a Staten Island expressway early yesterday that killed his passenger, officials said. Cops said the 46-year-old driver was headed north in a southbound lane of the West Shore Expressway in an SUV when he slammed into a minivan and a pickup truck near exit 8 just after 5 a.m.

Accused Bronx cop shooter Robert Williams vowed to police after his arrest to eventually shoot another officer. Assistant District Attorney Burim Namani said at Williams’ arraignment in Bronx Criminal Court, that the suspect told a cop at the hospital: “I aim to shoot one of you when I get out.” But Williams, a 45-year-old parolee, might not ever get that chance.

A parolee hellbent on killing a cop burst into a Bronx stationhouse yesterday morning and shot an NYPD lieutenant just 12 hours after wounding another officer two blocks away, authorities said. The shooter, identified as 45-year-old Robert Williams, burst into the stationhouse on Longwood Avenue just before 8 a.m. He blasted the lieutenant, identified by sources as Jose Gautreaux, in the arm.

A 19-year-old jumped to his death from the gigantic Vessel in Hudson Yards on Saturday, cops said. The tragic plunge happened around 6 p.m. in front of tourists as they milled around the popular New York City attraction. The death is believed to be the first suicide at the 16-story structure, which opened last March.

Retired Los Angeles Lakers great Kobe Bryant was killed in a helicopter crash in Southern California, according to reports. He was 41. Bryant’s 13-year-old daughter Gianna Maria Onore, known as GiGi, was among the victims. The deaths of the basketball star and his daughter were initially reported by TMZ and confirmed by several outlets, including ESPN.

A busted water main flooded the streets around Lincoln Center on the Upper West Side early yesterday, inundating nearby subway systems and snarling the morning commute. Officials said the flooding began when a city water main erupted between West 62nd and 63rd Streets along Broadway just before 5 a.m.

A powerful blaze erupted in a Brooklyn apartment building early yesterday, sending one victim to the hospital in critical condition, officials said. The fire broke out on the second-floor of a four-story brick apartment building on 45th Street near Eighth Avenue in Sunset Park around 5 a.m. Around 65 smoke eaters battled the blaze until it was brought under control.

In 2018, 30 pedestrians died in traffic accidents in Fresno. It’s a number that’s part of a national trend. Across the country, the number of people who died while walking last year reached its highest level since 1990.
