In this episode, Dawn welcomes Brian Reeves, an internationally renowned author and coach focused on helping men improve their lives and relationships. Brian shares his transformative journey from a U.S. Air Force captain to a leader in men's personal growth, discussing the challenges of disconnection and the importance of emotional safety in relationships. They discuss the struggles men face in expressing their emotions, the impact of generational trauma, and the need for deeper connections. Brian emphasizes the significance of radical responsibility and the journey toward understanding real love, which he defines as a ferocious and discerning force that maintains boundaries while fostering connection. KEY TAKEAWAYS Many men experience a profound disconnection from their emotions and bodies, often leading to feelings of numbness and existential crises. This disconnection can stem from societal conditioning that teaches men to suppress their feelings, resulting in challenges in intimate relationships. Emotional safety is crucial for both men and women in relationships. Men often underestimate the importance of creating a safe space for their partners to express themselves, which can lead to feelings of insecurity and disconnection. Engaging with other men in group settings can help individuals realize they are not alone in their struggles. Hearing others' stories fosters a sense of connection and can soften defenses, making it easier to explore deeper emotional issues. Taking responsibility for one's actions and their impact on relationships is essential for personal growth. Many men initially resist this idea, often blaming external factors for their relationship issues, but true progress comes from acknowledging and owning their role in the dynamics. Relationships require a delicate balance between emotional connection and personal freedom. Both partners must actively work to support each other's needs, recognizing that while love can be nurturing, it also requires boundaries and discernment to maintain a healthy dynamic. BEST MOMENTS "I had a bit of a nervous breakdown, like 30 days into that journey in North Wales, because I didn't know who I was anymore." "My father has a couple of brothers and they're all just, they're a wreck in my judgment. You know, as men, they're just, they're just not men I've ever been able to look up to." "The psychologist Terry Reel, he says, the original wound in men is disconnection. We're taught early to disconnect from our feelings, from our emotions, from what's really going on inside of us. And so then naturally we're going to turn into adults who don't know how to connect." "Do you think that woman has ever in her lifetime felt really safe to say no? Not just with you, but with every other man and every other scenario." In this episode, Dawn engages in a deep and insightful conversation with Dwayne Klassen, an author and speaker known as the coach for men. Dwayne shares his journey of creating the Remarkable Man movement, which aims to inspire men to become champions for women, heroes to children, and brothers to each other. They delve into the complexities of masculine and feminine energy, the challenges men face in relationships, and the importance of self-love and personal growth. Dwayne reflects on his own life experiences, including the profound impact of discovering he was not the biological father of a child he had raised, and how this shaped his understanding of identity and purpose. KEY TAKEAWAYS A central theme is the necessity of loving oneself, as many people prioritize loving others over their own well-being. This self-love is crucial for healthy relationships. Many men lack positive role models, which can lead to feelings of inadequacy and confusion about their identity. The absence of guidance can result in men struggling to navigate their emotions and relationships. Relationships often serve as a mirror for unresolved childhood wounds. Understanding these wounds can help individuals recognize patterns in their behavior and relationships, leading to personal growth. In relationships where one partner is committed to personal growth while the other is not, it can create a misalignment. It's essential for both partners to engage in mutual growth for the relationship to thrive. Romantic relationships are often conditional, and the pressure can disproportionately fall on men to fulfill certain roles. Recognizing this dynamic can help individuals understand the complexities of their relationships and the importance of mutual support. BEST MOMENTS "I've been a serial entrepreneur most of my life. In this episode host Dawn reconnects with repeat guest Dustin Lea Wheeler, the visionary founder of Wired for Worthiness. They delve into the transformative journey of personal growth and emotional healing, discussing the importance of conscious connections and the power of emotions in shaping our experiences. Dustin shares her profound insights on navigating life's challenges, the significance of gratitude, and the necessity of acknowledging and feeling our emotions to foster genuine joy and creativity. KEY TAKEAWAYS Acknowledge that you are the primary creator of your emotions. Understanding this allows you to consciously choose how you want to feel and what you want to create in your life. Engaging with a supportive community can help you navigate your journey of personal transformation. Many individuals carry trauma and conditioning that dictate their current emotional responses. Recognizing that these are not fixed identities but rather learned behaviours can empower you to let go of them and create new ones. Expanding your emotional vocabulary is essential for personal growth. By identifying and practicing emotions like gratitude and appreciation, you can shift your focus from negative feelings to more positive ones. In this episode, Dawn welcomes back her friend and healer, Eva Benari, for a deep dive into the complexities of love, self-care, and personal transformation. Eva shares her journey from a challenging upbringing and a tumultuous marriage to discovering the essence of true love and self-acceptance. Their conversation explores the importance of emotional intelligence, the impact of familial patterns on relationships, and the necessity of setting boundaries. Eva emphasizes the significance of understanding one's own feelings and the transformative power of self-love, while also discussing her unique healing modality, Mineral Alchemy. KEY TAKEAWAYS Love is often misconstrued as merely actions or acts of service, such as providing for someone materially. True love involves emotional connection and self-awareness, which many people are conditioned to suppress. Self-love is foundational for healthy relationships. It involves recognizing one's own worth and setting boundaries, which allows individuals to engage authentically with others without losing themselves. Many individuals fall into familiar patterns of behavior, often replicating dynamics from their family of origin. Awareness of these patterns is crucial for breaking the cycle and fostering healthier connections. Becoming an observer of one's own emotions and reactions can help individuals respond rather than react in stressful situations. This self-awareness allows for more thoughtful communication and personal integrity. Engaging in spiritual practices, such as introspection and connecting with one's higher self, can facilitate personal growth and healing. This journey helps individuals understand their life purpose and make conscious choices that align with their true selves. BEST MOMENTS "If you're poorly and you start with just a few things, and you discover you're getting better, you're gonna put more faith in that new thing and maybe make more allowance for it emotionally to do it again or more deeply. " "Making sure that you represent yourself on Valentine's day, making sure you buy presents on people's birthday, making sure you remember them and that those are acts of service. Those are acts of showing care, but it's not necessarily what love is." "There's a difference between ignorance and stupidity, and I'm not here to call out names. I'm here to more or less say, if you can't learn, find somebody who can protect you for the rest of your life and stay there." Lee shares his personal journey of overcoming addiction, isolation, and self-defeating thoughts, highlighting the power of vulnerability and compassion. They delve into the significance of being a beneficial presence in the world and the value of listening and being present for others. KEY TAKEAWAYS Lee emphasizes the significance of self-reflection in his healing journey, highlighting the need to distinguish between healthy alone time and self-defeating isolation. Lee discusses the value of vulnerability, noting that it is okay to show up authentically and be present with others, even when feeling less than 100%. Compassion is portrayed as the act of listening without the need to fix, allowing individuals to find their own answers and fostering a sense of connection and support. Lee metaphorically refers to the dark places as opportunities to plant seeds of growth and self-discovery, emphasizing the importance of acknowledging and learning from these experiences. Lee's personal credo of being a beneficial presence serves as a guiding principle in his interactions, reminding him to show up authentically and positively impact those around him. BEST MOMENTS "I'm stripping away what doesn't work so that I can reveal what does work. It's all about revealing my true nature rather than the lies I've been telling myself." "I'm okay. I'm worthwhile. I am worthy of being here and it's okay. I can do the work. I am not that person anymore because I've learned and I've changed and learned and grown as part of the process." "Why do you think so many people are afraid to pick up the phone? It's like we are programmed not to ask for help." "Real love is giving and receiving without thought of giving and receiving." In this episode, Dawn discusses the themes of destiny, free will, and conscious living with guest, Anya Vasquez. Anya, an energy coach specializing in marriage and relationships, shares her journey of discovering energy work and the importance of reprogramming oneself to achieve unconditional happiness. Their discussion delves into the concept of destiny blueprints, the impact of names on one's life path, and the balance between predestination and free will. Anya and Dawn explore the idea of aligning with the universe, recognizing signs, and making conscious decisions to navigate life's challenges and opportunities. KEY TAKEAWAYS The key to a fulfilling life is to strive for unconditional happiness, rather than seeking external factors like money or relationships. It is essential to reprogram oneself by identifying blockages, potential, and consistently working towards self-improvement. While there may be a predisposition or destiny blueprint, individuals also possess free will to make choices that can alter their path. Developing awareness and consciousness is crucial to avoid living on autopilot and reacting impulsively to situations. Names and birth details are believed to be chosen by the soul before birth, influencing the battles and experiences one will face in life. BEST MOMENTS "Listen, yes, whatever you did was wrong, but the way daddy reacted and because he's angry, that's not your problem. That's his problem." "Nothing needs to be fixed. You're not broken." "Everything, the good and the bad that has happened, had to happen for you to be right here in this moment." "Everything is in duality. Nothing is just black. Nothing is just right." In today's episode, Dawn sits down with mindset coach Renee Reisch to discuss the importance of finding one's voice, and speaking up for oneself. Renee shares her personal journey of resilience, including losing her voice due to a virus attacking her vocal cords. She delves into the impact of past experiences on self-expression, the significance of setting boundaries, and the process of building confidence and self-worth. KEY TAKEAWAYS Renee emphasizes the importance of finding your voice to speak your truth, set boundaries, and show self-value. Renee discusses the need to let go of perfectionism and give oneself grace to take risks and make mistakes along the way. Renee highlights the difference between the highlight reel people often show on social media and the real challenges and hardships they face in their lives. Renee's mission is to elevate the voices of individuals, creating a community where people can share their stories and support each other on their journeys. Renee's personal journey of overcoming obstacles has led her to help others grow through their own challenges, emphasizing the idea of "what we go through, we grow through." BEST MOMENTS "Taking care of yourself? That was the last on the list. It wasn't even the last on the list. It wasn't even on the list. It didn't even make the list." "Through the silence, you can hear the underlying message of what's coming through, the hurt, the pain, the anxiety of what somebody is trying to put out there that they can't even speak about, but it's coming through when you lean in and listen." "Be excited instead of fearful. Fear is your projection into the future of something that didn't even happen yet." "Isn't it nicer to see the glass half full than half empty? Isn't it nice to pour from an overflow than a broken glass?" In this episode, Dawn speaks to Christopher Rausch on the importance of self-love, taking responsibility, and making conscious choices in life. Christopher shares his inspiring journey from a challenging upbringing to becoming a successful coach and speaker. He emphasizes the power of having a strong "why" to drive personal growth and change. Their conversation delves into forgiveness, self-care, and the impact of taking imperfect action to create positive transformations. KEY TAKEAWAYS Self-love is the foundation for personal growth and success. It is crucial to prioritize self-care and self-love in order to make positive changes in life. It is important to take action, even if it is not perfect. Progress comes from taking steps forward, even if they are small or imperfect. Forgiveness and gratitude are powerful tools for personal growth. Forgiving oneself and others, and finding gratitude in challenging experiences, can lead to healing and growth. Having open and honest conversations, setting boundaries, and proactively addressing issues in relationships can lead to positive changes and growth. Investing in personal development, such as coaching, masterminds, or self-improvement resources, can lead to significant growth and positive changes in life. BEST MOMENTS "You can come back from anything and I've come back from a lot." "When you stay comfortable, you don't grow. You don't grow, you stay stagnant." "Real love is knowing the core of a person and loving them anyway." "If you're looking to be upset, if you're looking to be frustrated, if you're looking to be angry, if you're looking for all that sh*t, you're gonna find it." Welcome to the new season of Wake Up To Real Love. In today's episode, Dawn interviews Christy Holt, self proclaimed Happiness Hussy. They discuss the power of self-acceptance, conscious creation, and setting boundaries in relationships. Christy shares her personal journey of feeling stuck in a marriage and the transformative power of running as a coping mechanism. This episode also explores the CREATE method: Calibrate your consciousness, Refine your routine, Elevate your energy, Activate your aligned life, Tune into your true vision, and Empower your elevated self. KEY TAKEAWAYS Allow yourself to feel emotions without adding meaning, judgment, or resistance. Emotions are a compass, not good or bad. True power comes from accepting and embracing all aspects of yourself, recognizing your worthiness and wholeness. Shift from reacting to responding consciously, making intentional choices in alignment with your desires and values. Boundaries are not walls to keep people out but invitations for deeper connection by clearly stating your response to certain behaviors. Practice self-compassion, forgive yourself for past actions, and focus on growth and learning from experiences rather than self-condemnation. BEST MOMENTS "You don't need to become anyone. You don't need to change and do all the things differently. It's really just coming back to the heart of who you truly are and being that person here and now. That's your superpower." "A boundary is if you continue to treat me this way, I will respond by leaving the room, by hanging up the phone, by whatever your response is going to be." "If you're not going to accept where you're at right now, you're arguing with reality." "The emotions themselves are not the problem. The emotions are actually just a compass. They're a piece of information, a signpost. And they really don't have good, bad, right, wrong meanings. It's just almost like this is aligned or this is not aligned." ABOUT THE HOST Dawn Rishárd, M.A. with 20 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Systems, I empower people to release the past, open their hearts, and receive the love they desire. In this episode of Wake Up To Real Love, Dawn welcomes certified Christian sex coach Heather Tucker to the show to discuss her journey from growing up in the church and the issues with sex education. Discover the importance of understanding your body, why it's essential to remove the uncomfortability around sex and how you can have a better romantic relationship when you're open and honest. KEY TAKEAWAYS Often religious couples are uncomfortable about talking about sex and it's put down to something that each couple has just to figure out themselves. Not talking about sex in the church is a huge generation passing down of uncomfortability. Our brains have questions that don't get answered and we are left having to learn about sex and ourselves. It's vital for both men and women to learn about your own body, what turns you on, gets you aroused and the best practices to take to communicate your love is essential to your happiness. If you are open and honest when you enter a romantic relationship, you're going to have way better sex and communication with your partner. BEST MOMENTS “Nobody really talks about it.” “When my kids were growing up and I said, I don't want them to feel awkward like I felt awkward.” “Lots of kids grow up not even knowing the correct terminology.” CONTACT METHODhttps://www.instagram.com/theawakeningwithdawndawn@theawakeningwithdawn.com ABOUT THE HOSTDawn Rishárd, M.A. with 20 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Systems, I empower people to release the past, open their hearts, and receive the love they desire. We are all the sum of a multitude of things, each crucial to overall health, success and happiness. In this episode, Dawn is joined by holistic Transformation Coach Simone Gisondi. She shares her inspirational journey from trauma to purpose, how we can create self-worth, why we are conditioned to a certain environmental mindset and how we are simply on a journey to remind ourselves of our true beauty, love, joy and connection. KEY TAKEAWAYS Mindset is so much more important than anything else, what state of mind are you in? How happy are you? Being at peace with yourself plays such a large role. Mind, body, heart and soul. People turn to substances, risky behaviours and even crime to be able to express themselves. People seek an outlet and we subconsciously do things that are so foreign to us, and we are not even in the state of awareness that what we're doing is actually trying to allow that trauma to come to finality. The feeling of self-worth can have the biggest impact on you. If you do not have it, you become ingrained with the feeling that you are not worthy of happiness, praise or anything of value. You need self-worth to be able to grow and evolve as a person. Your mindset is not always from you, you are conditioned to have your own sense of intrinsic worthiness because you weren't cared for, you weren't nurtured and you didn't feel safe in your own home. Your environment forms your mindset and it's up to your awareness to understand that it is not right to break free. We're all here to help, uplift each other and come back to this place of love and acceptance for who we are at our core. We're not broken. We don't need to be fixed. We are on this journey to remind ourselves of our true beauty and nature, which is pure love and joy and connection. BEST MOMENTS “I remember the emotional impact that the words of my doctor had on me.” “Trauma plays a huge role in one's life and health overall.” “Affection was almost forbidden, we just did not show affection in our family.” “Hurt people, hurt people.” CONTACT METHODhttps://www.instagram.com/theawakeningwithdawndawn@theawakeningwithdawn.com ABOUT THE HOSTDawn Rishárd, M.A. with 20 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Systems, I empower people to release the past, open their hearts, and receive the love they desire. MJ joins the Wake Up To Real Love show to share her journey to self-love and fulfilment. Dawn and MJ discuss the importance of a vision and taking control of your life, why we all how the power to create something bigger than ourselves and explain why everybody is worthy of love. KEY TAKEAWAYS Some people can pretend in their relationship, hold in their emotions and settle but by doing this you're not being true to yourself and fulfilling your potential When two egos are going against each other in a relationship it is unproductive and nothing will ever get solved. Communication is essential to a successful relationship, the ability to be open and show compassion can really help to open the lines of communication between partners. It's important to know where you're going and not just let life happen to you. Having a mood board, and a vision will allow you to take more control over your life. Supporting each other is essential to creating something bigger than yourself. When you have the support that gets you, you can co-create together. If you pursue whatever your creative endeavours are and pursue your sense of fulfilment, pursue your creating a beautiful relationship with yourself and really honour who you are, then when somebody else shows up in your life, you have so much more to offer and more to create. We all have the power to create something new for ourselves when we focus our time and energy. When you're able to really nourish yourself and love yourself, that's when you carry that energy forward into a really beautiful and co-created relationship. No matter what happened in the past, whatever you envision, that's what you can create. You're never given a vision without also being given the power to make it come true. BEST MOMENTS “There's a certain point where I guess I was finding myself, growing and we were growing in a different direction.” “In order for both of us to be happy and true to ourselves, it wasn't going to work out.” “Because I wasn't working on myself the idea of working, having more money and going on holiday just became a repetitive thing that society teaches us to do.” “Everyone is worthy of love.” CONTACT METHODhttps://www.instagram.com/theawakeningwithdawndawn@theawakeningwithdawn.com ABOUT THE HOSTDawn Rishárd, M.A. with 20 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Systems, I empower people to release the past, open their hearts, and receive the love they desire. In this episode of Wake Up To Real Love, Dawn is joined by a music aficionado, voice talent coach, and author Mick Smith. Together they discuss Mick's struggles with parental alienation, how got into music, and his journey from pain to purpose. KEY TAKEAWAYS Love is important but alone it is not enough to sustain society and structural stability is always needed. There's always hope on the other side. You have to believe that and not give up hope because the truth will prevail, goodness wins over evil. No greater love does a man have than the pride to lay down his life for another. If you can lay down your life and give up whatever you need or want for that other person, you are turning your pain into your purpose. Fear, anger and resentment are all lower vibration energies, that do not help you heal or move forward in your life. Low vibration energy keeps you stuck in the past. Find a purpose that gets you out of bed in the morning and out into the world. It's the best thing you can do to help yourself get past difficult and traumatic times. Dawn welcomes back the founder of IDEA Seminars, Master NLP and DHE trainer and expert at helping people transform their lives, Rex Steven Sikes. Together they discuss the infinitesimal power of the brain and how you can transform yourself and your life to create winning momentum. KEY TAKEAWAYS Winners win. The more you win with the small things, the more momentum you will build and you will create life, the more a habit of winning. You can transform yourself easily and when hardships come up, you're better equipped to handle them. There is always a way out of the turmoil, there is a way to change your life but it begins with tiny steps. Success is tied to your self-belief and everything that's ever happened to you in your life, every experience you've ever had, every feeling you've ever had, good or bad or whatever constitutes a resource. So you are infinitely resourceful. We can't even begin to understand the number of neural connections we can make in the brain. The connections our brain has to wire and rewire are infinitesimal. It's beyond anything we could imagine. BEST MOMENTS “A lot of people who go bankrupt understand that there's really nothing to fear about bankruptcy.” “Bankruptcy isn't pleasant but it, but I survived it.” “Tiny steps, in the long run, will end up becoming a great solution, relief and opportunity.” “Our bodies have a myriad of processes that are going on sequentially and simultaneously.” “The conscious mind is just a tiny sliver of everything that we are.” CONTACT METHODhttps://www.instagram.com/theawakeningwithdawndawn@theawakeningwithdawn.com ABOUT THE HOSTDawn Rishárd, M.A. with 20 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Systems, I empower people to release the past, open their hearts, and receive the love they desire. Real love is looking past everything that's happening. Love is unconditional. Dawn welcomes renowned B2B strategic marketer Kindra Beck to the show. Kindra shares her emotional personal journey and why you must learn to love yourself and trust your gut.KEY TAKEAWAYS An extramarital relationship with an emotional connection with somebody else is even worse than a physical relationship with someone else because you have a connection and a deeper intimacy with that person. How much time, energy, and effort are you putting into creating what you want out of your relationship? It's always easier to deal with the status quo but if you want a different life, you need to change things. How do you love yourself? Have faith and trust your gut, and always aim to surround yourself with people that love and believe in you because fighting never resolves anything. We all deserve compassion and forgiveness. What you choose as an adult in your relationships or for your children as a parent is your choice. In this episode of Wake Up To Real Love, Dawn is joined by an internationally recognised inspirational and innovative leader who specialises in helping businesses achieve exponential growth, Claire Oatway. Together they discuss how leadership has changed over the years, how creativity in the boardroom is shaping growing companies and why understanding what's important to your customers is essential to success. KEY TAKEAWAYS The Leadership field has changed over time. There has been a shift to be much more engaging within a workforce and within an organization. There is an emphasis on cross-organisation collaboration in order to gain a wider view from other members of the team to build the business more successfully. Diversity in leadership with women leaders and people of different ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds is challenging traditional leadership and there has now been a shift in the strategy literature that says you don't have to compete, you don't have to compete for finite resources. You can actually create completely new products, new ideas and new markets through collaboration and creativity. Creativity in boardrooms as opposed to an engineering approach has shifted the way we experience leadership and competition for talent. A new approach is really pushing leaders to be authentic and to deliver the promises that they set out. To have a successful business you need to understand what's important to consumers right now, what's going on in terms of technology and what are people excited about. Why? Because technology is driving change within businesses. BEST MOMENTS “When everyone is involved building a business is a lot more fun as people bring their passion, energy and excitement. Many workforces are now truly engaging with their team instead of just ticking the box.” “A lot more companies now really care about the people who work for them.” “The workplace is starting to shift to really focus on collaboration.” “It's really expensive to recruit people and you lose productivity if you do not have a stable workforce.” CONTACT METHODhttps://www.instagram.com/theawakeningwithdawndawn@theawakeningwithdawn.com ABOUT THE HOST Dawn Rishárd, M.A. With 20 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Systems, I empower people to release the past, open their hearts, and receive the love they desire. We cannot forgive anyone unless we love and forgive ourselves. Evidential Spiritual Medium and best-selling author Jock Brocas joins The Wake Up To Real Love podcast to share his journey from the monastery becoming the spiritual mentor to leaders and change makers. Discover how to forgive yourself, why you must overcome grief to learn and how you must accept yourself empathetically. KEY TAKEAWAYS Be aware of the trials, tribulations and falsehoods that you will come up against in life. People often think that in grief you can heal, but the reality is that it's impossible to heal through grief because grief is a journey and development of the soul. You don't heal through grief at all, you come to a level of acceptance. Grief becomes our greatest teacher if you are honest and accepting of it. You will learn more when you experience a loss or trauma because until then you will not truly understand the capacity of grief and what can be discovered within it. Learn to accept yourself and the things you have done wrong in the past. If you're able to accept a level of empathy with yourself and understand that guilt is a behaviour and emotion, you can uncover an empathetic acceptance and awareness of your journey. You may not heal from trauma but you can accept it. Forgiveness is not a skill that you develop or get better at. It is not temporary, forgiveness is a divine power that is inherent in all of us and you have freedom of choice to wield that power or not. BEST MOMENTS “I would go to church every day but the interesting thing was that as much as I was indoctrinated into a dogmatic faith system, I couldn't help but question it.” “We all are students.” “I learned more when I lost my father because I probably didn't understand grief to the capacity that I then discovered.” “Forgiveness is something that you develop even more through awareness, compassion, understanding yourself and loving yourself.“ VALUABLE RESOURCES https://www.amazon.co.uk/Jock-Brocas/e/B002BMK9VU%3Fref=dbs_a_mng_rwt_scns_share CONTACT METHODhttps://www.instagram.com/theawakeningwithdawndawn@theawakeningwithdawn.com ABOUT THE HOST Dawn Rishárd, M.A. with 20 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Systems, I empower people to release the past, open their hearts, and receive the love they desire. Dawn is joined by one of the highest sales performers in the world, Ian Koniak. Ian shares his unique story from mastering sales to overcoming addiction and finding true love in his marriage. KEY TAKEAWAYS If you can master sales you can achieve whatever you want, it allows you to have freedom and freedom of choice. But it comes with a lot of pressure to perform and to support your family. Most people believe that their self-worth comes from their net worth and if they cannot provide for their family they are a loser but that is not true. Men and women are socialised differently around sex and there are double standards and different paradigms depending on if you're a man or a woman. Integrity means being open and honest about what you're doing when no one's looking. That's all it is. BEST MOMENTS “I was very determined to do whatever it took to be successful and achieve the goal of bringing my ex-girlfriend to the US.” “My career success was what defined me. I saw myself on paper as what society says is great. I saw myself as really successful but in the other areas of my life I was not, I had problems with addiction.” “I didn't really recognize it as childhood trauma at the time because I hadn't gone through therapy.” “If I wasn't making the money and getting the results, I didn't feel worthy.” “I nearly lost everything and that's what prompted me to go get the proper help.” CONTACT METHODhttps://www.instagram.com/theawakeningwithdawndawn@theawakeningwithdawn.com ABOUT THE HOST Dawn Rishárd, M.A. with 20 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Systems, I empower people to release the past, open their hearts, and receive the love they desire. Dawn welcomes the founder of the Omni Media Company and author of multiple best-selling books, Julie Lokun. Julie shares her journey from lawyer to podcaster and the trauma and relationships she's experienced and overcome along the way. KEY TAKEAWAYS If you open your heart up to opportunities, you never know where it's going to take you. Every person we meet changes the trajectory of our lives. But people are so afraid to say yes and move out of their comfort zone. Anger is a secondary emotion. It's coming from somewhere else. it's just easier to blame everybody else instead of looking introspectively and saying, how can I change? What did I do wrong? How did I contribute to this issue? There's usually somebody who has the emotionality of the relationship and then there's the other person who is responsible for the structure of the relationship. Because we try to be perfect and portray the perfect image we destroy ourselves internally and there's this huge imbalance between both men and women as women are conditioned to be sad, cry and to be upset whilst men are the opposite. BEST MOMENTS “I found myself really unsettled in my soul, so that's how I transitioned from lawyer to podcaster.” “I just love elevating the voices of others, those who are wanting to make an impact in the world, and I see podcasting as an amazing tool to do it.” “A comfort zone is a scary place to be. I like to push myself outside the box and meet new people and talk to new people but you also have to stay focused.” “A relationship means sharing a slice of your life but no one likes to connect with someone who is perfect.” CONTACT METHODhttps://www.instagram.com/theawakeningwithdawndawn@theawakeningwithdawn.com ABOUT THE HOST Dawn Rishárd, M.A. with 20 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Systems, I empower people to release the past, open their hearts, and receive the love they desire. Deborah Driggs is known for her acting, dancing, and modelling, she is also a top-rated insurance professional and was even a playboy centerfold! Deborah now focuses her time and passion on helping women break through negative self-talk, take on challenges and build themselves the lives they deserve. Deborah joins Dawn to talk all about her mission, the journey that got her to where she is today including her success in the acting world as well as her struggles with addiction. KEY TAKEAWAYS Deborah and Dawn both worked as flight attendants for Airlines in the 1980s. They both learnt how to deal with frightening emergencies and how to remain calm under immense pressure. Following some work modelling in Japan, Deborah decided that on her return to the U.S. she wanted to work in commercials, and this is exactly what she did. She recognized this as a pivotal moment in her life. After having a successful career in commercials, print and some bit parts, Deborah was given an opportunity to have a lead role, but she needed to take some acting classes to be hired. Deborah met her husband and got married in 92', she had her first child in 93' and her final acting role was in 98'. She was in a new era of her life. Deborah struggled with alcoholism most of her life, she now recognizes that this was part of the generational trauma that she was carrying. After the breakdown of her marriage, Deborah fell deeper into her addiction and even contemplated suicide. She entered rehab and managed to stay sober for a while but after getting a new job she convinced herself that she wasn't an alcoholic and she began drinking again. To most, things looked great for Deborah. But she was miserable, she was just good at putting on a mask. If you aren't living your authentic self, then regardless of money or status you have nothing. Deborah discovered she needed to tackle her issues and trauma head on, it was only this that allowed her to heal, from her trauma, suffering and addiction. She now helps others do the same. BEST MOMENTS “If there's a struggle there's a problem and in that problem, there is a beautiful solution” “That was probably the most pivotal moment of my life, I knew I was on the right track” “Everything that people said I wouldn't be able to do, I just found a way to do it”“I do have a bit of success anxiety” “Everything looked good on the outside” “I believe that generational trauma exists” "I had to experience a lot of different healing journeys" CONTACT METHODhttps://www.instagram.com/theawakeningwithdawndawn@theawakeningwithdawn.com ABOUT THE HOST Dawn Rishárd, M.A. with 20 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Systems, I empower people to release the past, open their hearts, and receive the love they desire. In a special episode of Wake Up To Real Love, Dawn is joined by neuroscientist, tenured psychology professor, international speaker, and founder of the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience, Dr Hayley Nelson. Together they discuss how she is making neuroscience approachable for everyone, what can be learned from studying the psychology of the brain and how our brain forms connections. KEY TAKEAWAYS Understanding cognitive and behavioural neuroscience allows you to swallow a knowledge of how the brain works in real-life situations and give you the power to serve clients better. Men's behaviour vs women's behaviour can seem very different in certain situations, but really the fundamental structures are similar. Men are more conditioned and goal-orientated whereas women are more conditioned to be communal and collaborative. Neurons are the specialised cells that make up the brain and the nervous system. They generate electricity and communicate with each other through chemical reactions or chemical releases known as neurotransmission. We have an infinite number of possible connections that we can make and that's why genetically identical twins can react and respond very differently to the same stimulus. It's all built through experience that neural pathways use to communicate. BEST MOMENTS “Our brain weighs only three pounds in mass but contains 80 to 100 billion neurons.” “There's an infinite number of connections in the human brain.” “Some people look up at the universe and feel how small they are but we have that between our ears.” CONTACT METHODhttps://www.instagram.com/theawakeningwithdawndawn@theawakeningwithdawn.com ABOUT THE HOST Dawn Rishárd, M.A. with 20 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Systems, I empower people to release the past, open their hearts, and receive the love they desire. Dawn welcomes back award-winning and internationally renowned professional consultant Doug Gordon to the show in a brand new episode of Wake Up To Real Love. Together they discuss how to create happy and healthy relationships, the need for emotional intelligence and how the energy of love encapsulates us all. KEY TAKEAWAYS Sometimes the love you have for someone will always remain and needs not to change, however, the relationship may need to change because it may not be helpful or healthy for anyone in its current capacity. The encapsulating energy of love, energy and connection never alienates or discriminates against anybody in this world. Religions are like rivers, they're all beautiful but they're all just different paths to the sea. The biggest reason why we have wars in this world is that we all have opinions. We all have one. It's so important to make sure that we really understand each other with empathy and compassion and emotional intelligence. We need to respect and appreciate other people's perspectives, where they are and where they come from. For all relationships in life to work you need to rely on terms of conscious communication and active listening, not just listening, but actually hearing and listening to the conditions, expectations, needs, and values of someone. Many of us lack emotional intelligence, lack the feeling of safety and the ability to trust in ourselves, we lack a sense of love. BEST MOMENTS “The main problem with my marriage was that I encountered a near-death experience and that experience changed me.”“It was like I was encapsulated in it, connected to everything and there was no man with a beard, but there was a living, conscious, loving energy that was surrounding me.”“The biggest power in the world is your inner power and that comes from love.” CONTACT METHODhttps://www.instagram.com/theawakeningwithdawndawn@theawakeningwithdawn.com ABOUT THE HOSTDawn Rishárd, M.A. with 20 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Systems, I empower people to release the past, open their hearts, and receive the love they desire. Dawn welcomes the founder of Reclaim Your Life and 2x number one, international best-selling author Irina Shehovsov to the show to discuss how to overcome toxic relationships and learn how to listen to your inner voice. Irina shares her personal journey from pain to purpose and the lessons learned along the way that helped her reclaim her identity. KEY TAKEAWAYS We have big bodies but on the inside, we're still kids and it's important to open up and be creative. It doesn't matter how you are you should still have a hobby to help express your emotion. We shouldn't stop doing the things we're passionate about to accommodate our partner, we're taught that family comes first but as women, we end up boxing ourselves in and putting out own happiness to one side when we're in a relationship or start a family. As children, we are being conditioned to always comply with the figure of authority, whether it's our immediate family, our parents, or our caregivers. This translates to a husband too and women are taught to comply but as a result, they can lose their sense of identity. We forget to listen to our inner wisdom and our inner voice because the answer is always within sight. The question is, are we listening sometimes it's our ego that is always screaming when we are not treated fairly, but there's a tiny little voice somewhere in the back, very quiet, waiting to be heard. You need to create a practice of meditation, of forgiveness to be able to heal that little voice and to recognise when it's speaking and to respond to it instead of placing our authority into other people's hands. BEST MOMENTS “I love exploring creativity and different aspects of it. So dancing was that outlet for me.” “Dancing helped me get back home to myself and realise what I'm capable of and how amazing it makes you feel.” “My happiness doesn't matter right now because I need to take care of all of this.” “I was so compliant and complacent that I didn't raise my voice to voice my objections and I lost my identity.” CONTACT METHODhttps://www.instagram.com/theawakeningwithdawndawn@theawakeningwithdawn.com ABOUT THE HOST Dawn Rishárd, M.A. with 20 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Systems, I empower people to release the past, open their hearts, and receive the love they desire. Dawn is joined by the founder IDEA Seminars, Master NLP and DHE trainer and expert at helping people transform their lives, Rex Steven Sikes. Together they discuss Rex's journey to his true purpose, the power of acting and self-expression and explore how Neuroscience is validating ancient chakra beliefs. KEY TAKEAWAYS Acting is truly a beautiful way to learn self-expression and to overcome the sorts of limitations we put on ourselves by actually practicing and rehearsing them. Practice spiritual, emotional, mental, financial, and transformational principles. If you practice them, you can get good at them, refine them and take control of your life. Aim to recondition yourself in a positive way and you will experience all sorts of wonderful joy and possibilities that would have otherwise passed you by. Life is like a buffet, instead of avoiding experiences, go and try them. It's all part of the reconditioning process. Learn to meditate, learn to bring back gratitude and expressiveness and enthusiasm and exuberance to all that you do. Neuroscience today is validating what the ancient chakras knew decades ago. Everything goes through the heart, it goes up, down or passes through, and in order to embrace the fullness of your being, your heart and head have to be in alignment. BEST MOMENTS “I've encouraged everybody from all walks of life to take acting lessons because it is an opportunity to explore who you are and what you can bring to the table.” “You can't dip and dabble, you have to dive in.” “When your head and your heart are aligned and you're dedicated to a mission or a purpose, then everything starts working in order. Then you can use your power.”CONTACT METHODhttps://www.instagram.com/theawakeningwithdawndawn@theawakeningwithdawn.comABOUT THE HOSTDawn Rishárd, M.A. With 20 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Systems, I empower people to release the past, open their hearts, and receive the love they desire.
