I allow people to see their magic and create chemistry with their audience as well as create a business and brand that aligns with them. My mission is to create a world filled with ambitious, fulfilled, prosperous and happy entrepreneurs. I help my clients to step into their genius by leveraging my magic to find their magic and then bring it to the world so everyone can see it. When working with my clients at brand camp, we do the deep work first that entails thinking, and then we design. I often tell my clients that I'm designing and creating a brand for their business for the future. Brand camp is my methodology, and is the process I take all of our clients through before we design anything. It is really about all of the messaging and really understanding how your brand show up in the world, and how you are going to distinguish yourself from everybody else in your space. I've combined my background and design with these newer skills, which I had to embrace and step into. Commercial break My book is based on brand camp, and it walks you through the entire process of creating your brand.  I wrote the book because I knew that I could only help us a certain amount of people through working with me one on one. I saw my book to be a great way to elevate my personal brand, bring more business into my business, and to get me more speaking engagements. For me getting really clear on why I was writing a book made me find my unique factor which was having a design background. When you get to fully step into who you are, and get crystal clear on that, the right people will be drawn to you like a magnet, and that's what brand chemistry is all about. ………………………………………………… Do you want to be a go to expert that news reporters, anchors and media producers turn to? My guest, Laura Beauparlant, often likens branding to baking. You need just the right ingredients, in the right order to make that sweet sweet delicious CHEMISTRY! The result of a brand that is authentic to YOU is attracting your ideal customers and clients because they are fans of your unique flavor and what you have to offer. In this conversation, we get into all things branding (and baking analogies) and why it's so important to set yourself apart from all the other cupcakes in the bakery with your own unique frosting and toppings.  Why branding matters and what it means to Laura Why more isn't more - we don't need to focus on attracting ALL the clients and instead focusing on the RIGHT clients.  What the elements are of a good brand and how we can tap into some of these for ourselves  The difference between features and benefits and why we should show our customers their most desired outcomes in working with us Why color matters What a brand personality is and how to start thinking about yours Why you should have a Signature Process or framework for your brand to help your customers succeed  Who some of Laura's favorite brands are and why  About Laura Beauparlant:  As the founder and chief ‘brand alchemist' at Lab Creative, Laura leverages her unique process to help entrepreneurs understand – and embrace – their magic and create brands that stand out from the crowd, attract the right clients and produce results. In her more than two decades as a designer and seventeen as an entrepreneur, she's learned that it takes more than just being really good at what you do to start and run a successful business. Through her signature, a three-step process they create authentic and memorable brands for ambitious, growth-minded entrepreneurs who want to stand out from the crowd and reach new levels of impact, influence, and success. Have you ever downplayed a success or diminished yourself to avoid others from feeling badly? Your kind, compassionate and empathetic heart knows what it's like when someone is not hit their stride or having the same success as you. But what if you're using empathy muscles all wrong here. Thinking about how someone else will feel in a situation is a good thing.  But not if it requires you to diminish, downplay or devalue yourself, your work or your impact. Instead of reducing yourself, you need to shine even brighter.  By owning your light, you illuminate a path to helping them find theirs. My guest today Laura Beauparlant is an award-winning international keynote speaker, an expert on branding and design and the author of Brand Chemistry. As the founder and creative director of Lab Creative, her mission is to help ambitious entrepreneurs create authentic, memorable brands that consistently attract their ideal clients.   For over 16 years, Laura has helped countless small business owners and entrepreneurs gain confidence and grow their businesses through unforgettable branding. In this episode we talk about: How to love your clients that much, that you can love them out the door.  This is for those times when you know it's time to bring a client relationship to an end.  You're not loving the work or you're loving them and it's time to say goodbye. Laura shares a gentle and kind way to do this with ease and grace. We also talk about subtracting to add.  I love this idea and reminds me of the minimalist approach.  That by taking things away, removing things from your business and possibly people from your life, you will in turn fill it up with more meaning, success, and impact. Laura tells us how closing off one of her services, didn't limit her results, rather it helped her close more sales. One of the biggest challenges we have is putting ourselves out there.  When you put yourself out there to shine brightly you put yourself up for judgement and criticism. This makes it scary and often holds us back from bringing our brilliance.  You're meant to make big things happen – so we can't have you limiting your light.  Listen in to learn how to overcome your visibility barriers. And finally, Laura and I talk a lot about what selling from love is and what it isn't. Laura shares a strategy that helped her get clients when she demonstrated a love-based action on social media. I can't wait for you to listen in and to learn how to shine brightly as Laura Beauparlant shows us her way. PS: If you loved this episode please head on over to iTunes to rate and give us a review. What do you have to let go of in order to create a bigger impact? My guest Laura Beauparlant ran a custom stationery business for 12 years. She was highly successful, and her innovative wedding invitation designs had been featured in many magazines.Laura was making good money and building a name, but she knew that she wanted to leave the wedding industry. She wanted something bigger and better. She’d been doing design work for small businesses and soon realized she was making more money from small business branding than from her wedding invitations. She knew she needed to shift where she put her energy. In November of 2015, she quit doing wedding design completely and within 5 or 6 months she’d launched her new company, Lab Creative, and started her Brand Camp program. The lesson? Sometimes, you need to let go of something in order to grow.As Laura scaled up, she realized that couldn’t move beyond a certain revenue point without hiring a team and letting go of having full control. She needed to recognize that her role in her business is that of a visionary, and that the only way she could thrive in that role is by having a team to support her.She also needed to heal a money mindset that caused her to feel guilty about building wealth.Once she let go, she achieved some truly incredible results! In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll discover:‌The power in claiming your role as a visionary in your businessThe importance of recognizing when it’s time to hire — and how to be okay with bringing on new team membersHow shifting your money mindset can free you from limiting beliefs and guilt about building wealth“I have it in my calendar to pay myself every two weeks, just like I would pay anybody else... Episode 14 – Creating a Brand that Stands out in the Crowd with Laura BeauparlantIn a noisy online world, small business owners are always looking for ways to stand out. In order to get attention, we need to be that that smiling face in the crowd! Tune in to hear a lively discussion between myself and Laura Beauparlant filled with tips on how to brand your business and grow your following on social media. Laura Beauparlant of Lab Creative talks about her strategies for branding small business. She explains how every journey is different and filled with so many things, that it's never static. Through her own journey, Laura has found her voice, and she has honed how to attract the right client. Her mission? To make branding and design accessible to every business owner; to be value packed and affordable. Laura gets the most joy helping the small business owner who is passionate about what they do and why they started their business. Entrepreneurs must get back in touch with the “why and how” to reach those clients that they are meant to serve. Laura describes her “Common Thread Approach,” which is further explained in her book “Brand Chemistry.” Once you figure out what the “common thread” is between all your dream clients, you build it into your brand, then focus on reaching them. Biggest mistakes that people are making in branding:Consistency; Or a lack of! Laura invites everyone to pull up their social media, website and marketing materials. Make sure that the formatting matches, meaning that everything is consistent in style, colour and fonts. Current photos; Pictures you post of yourself on social media should be current, so if you were to bump into someone who follows you they would recognize you immediately.Key Ingredients for a killer brand:Consistency; It's how you answer the phone, the quality of the products and services you offer, and how you represent yourself on social media. Authenticity; In a world where there is less and less human interaction; you need a brand that is real, visible and authentic. It has to be something that you are proud of and confident in. Clarity; Who do you want to serve and why?Handles; Do your social media accounts and domain name match in name and style?
