We had the pleasure of interviewing Taylor Bickett over Zoom video!Nashville-based singer-songwriter Taylor Bickett is building upon the buzz of her breakout single “QUARTER LIFE CRISIS” with a brilliant music videohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFzOKKeB6OY&ab_channel=TaylorBickettFeaturing her intimate lyricism and stunning vocal range atop delicate acoustic guitar, the visuals find Bickett dancing her way through an empty diner as her younger self peers on through the window. As the two Bicketts enter a timelapse in the diner, the past and present versions of her merge to take her 23-year-old obstacles head-on. It's a poignant representation of growing up that crystallizes why fans have come to call Bickett their “long-lost older sister” and will eventually lead toward her debut EP (due later this year). Bickett is a natural storyteller with over 285k TikTok followers and 30 million streams since gaining traction online during the early stages of the pandemic in 2020. “QUARTER LIFE CRISIS” eventually caught fire with over 400k user-generated videos across social platforms with support from the likes of Drew Barrymore. Taylor recently performed at Nashville's Live on the Green festival (headlined by Sheryl Crow, COIN, and more), the rooftops of the Eastern (Atlanta) before Carly Rae Jepsen and the Georgia Theatre (Athens) before Sammy Rae & Friends, and has opened for artists such as Laura Marano and Andi Mitchell. hellofresh.com/backwards50Promo Code: backwards50We want to hear from you! "BACKSTAGE PASS" IS A NEW PODCAST HOSTED BY CELEBRITY VOCAL COACH ERIC VETRO, FEATURING CONVERSATIONS WITH ARIANA GRANDE, JOHN LEGEND, SHAWN MENDES, AND MOREBackstage Pass with Eric Vetro launches October 20, 2021There's one special thing the most famous singers in the world have in common: his name is Eric Vetro. From Ariana Grande to Shawn Mendes to John Legend, vocal coach Eric Vetro has been by the sides of your favorite singers for some of the most iconic moments in their careers. On "Backstage Pass," Vetro's celebrity students retrace their vocal journeys, from the very first song they ever sang and their favorite vocal exercises through the challenges they faced building their careers.Eric Vetro is one of the country's most in-demand vocal coaches for a reason. For over 35 years, Vetro has worked in Hollywood with students that include A-list actors, Broadway singers, and global pop stars. They meet with him regularly to prepare for Broadway productions, movie musical roles, world tours and nationally televised awards shows. Even for the naturally gifted, professional singers prepare with the extreme discipline of runners getting ready for a marathon. Vetro sees students seven days a week, sometimes waking up in the middle of the night to warm up singers on tour many time zones away or teaching in unusual locations such as the backs of SUVs, alley ways, and even bathrooms before shows. Amid grueling tour schedules and high-pressure performances, he is there for these singers every step of the way. Bubbly, magnetic, and beloved by his students, he has the kind of personality that led Ariana Grande to tweet, "Eric Vetro is my favorite person ever."Originally from a small city in upstate New York, Eric Vetro started an amateur vocal teaching practice, teaching his classmates how to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner." He went on to study voice and piano at NYU, finding a mentor in Lloyd Walser, a chorus master at the New York City Opera. Inspired by his targeted approach, Vetro does not try to make everyone sound the same, but rather emphasizes what makes a student sound special. He moved to LA in 1984 and has been growing his student list ever since."Backstage Pass" will include interviews with many of Vetro's vocal students, including Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, Chloe Bailey, Rosalia, Camila Cabello, Vanessa Hudgens, Stephanie Beatriz, and John Legend. These intimate conversations will reveal the secrets behind how these performers hit those high notes (spoiler: one is a technique called "Silent Ferocious Lion's Yawn") and will emphasize why Eric has become the coach, therapist and friend to the most well-known singers in the music business.Eric Vetro is the celebrity vocal coach to stars such as Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, John Legend, Camila Cabello, Katy Perry, Rita Ora, Chloe x Halle, Juanes, and Rosalia as well as the lead singers from bands like Haim, Weezer, Incubus and Muse. He has trained A-list actors for the movie musicals La La Land, Chicago, Judy, Mary Poppins Returns, Hairspray, Beauty and the Beast, Eurovision, In The Heights and Cinderella as well as the new releases Dear Evan Hansen, Tick Tick.Boom!, and Disney's Encanto. He has worked with many Disney stars who went on to have singing careers such as Vanessa Hudgens, Sabrina Carpenter, Ashley Tisdale, Olivia Holt, Laura Marano, and Dove Cameron. He has also worked with many Broadway actors including Tony-award winners Hugh Jackman and Bette Midler.Backstage Pass with Eric Vetro - first 4 episodesEpisode 1: Ariana GrandeAiring: 10/20Eric talks with Ariana Grande about her vocal range, how Broadway influences her music, touring, and the struggles of perfect pitch and how it can be both a blessing and a curse. We also get to learn more about Eric and how being a vocal coach is all about listening and thinking on his feet.Episode 2: Shawn MendesAiring: 10/27When we think of world-famous singers, we would never expect them to have anxiety about performing their songs for live audiences. But that's not always the case. In this episode, Eric talks with Shawn Mendes about how he has worked hard to get comfortable trusting the process and trusting his voice.Episode 3: Chloe BaileyAiring: 11/3Chloe Bailey is probably most famously known as one half of sister group Chloe x Halle, but through her acting, choreography, and solo music career she's got the entertainment market covered. In this interview, Eric talks with Chloe about her musical inspirations, how and why she learned to produce her own music, and how her family jokes that - as the world's biggest Beyoncé fan - she manifested she and her sister being one of the first artists signed to Beyoncé's production company.Episode 4: RosaliaAiring: 11/10Eric talks with Rosalia about her work ethic and how her perfectionism and persistence makes her career. They also talk about flamenco, Rosalia's vibrato, and how the 2019 Latin Grammys were the only time she can think of when she wasn't in the right headspace to perform; her grandfather had passed just the day before.http://podcasts.pushkin.fm/backstage-pass-eric-vetro?c=-GIhsWJy6a841zFLbwxFlQ&h=33a1ec6f9ecc4e506

Our guest on The Radical today is Eli Lieb, indie musician, Iowa native, and YouTube viral sensation with 50 million views and counting. He has collaborated with artists, writers, and producers including Adam Lambert, Cheyenne Jackson, Hey Violet, Laura Marano, Forever In Your Mind, John Feldmann, Simon Wilcox, Crystal Bowersox, and Stacy Jones. Eli and Nick discuss a wide range of topics from happiness as a compass for living your life to following the right advice from the right people and making decisions that work for you… Like not touring! Key Takeaways [2:10] Nick welcomes Eli Lieb and asks him to talk a little bit about where he grew up, his experience of transcendental meditation school as a child in Iowa, and how he made his way to New York. [7:32] A lot can change abruptly. Eli speaks of following the traditional music industry path in New York — meeting label bigwigs and working with a lot of different artists — until he lost his father and his career came to a sudden halt in the span of one week. [18:35] Eli touches on when he began realizing that this formatted music industry path really wasn't enjoyable for him. He shares the story of when they had just auditioned a new guitar player and he had to make up a story about how they met for the President of the label. [22:24] From dog walking to a serious piece of advice from A&R executive Scott Seviour — get to pioneer covering songs on YouTube, in 2012. [28:15] Making his own career has been a very interesting process. Eli talks about what it means to create music rather than content, as well as his love of writing for other people — even if he had to walk away from L.A. because of how toxic it is. [38:38] Eli talks about becoming the face of the two-year Allstate LGBT advertising campaign with his award-winning song Young Love and the importance of not being contrived when putting your art out there. [45:33] A burning question for Eli: why no touring? [48:57] Nick begins wrapping up and invites Eli to talk about his upcoming projects and thanks him for coming on and sharing so much of his experience. Thanks for listening! It's Big Slick Day in Kansas City and #TheShowKC is pumped. We wonder who is going to get star struck tonight? Probably Jen over Weird Al. In the entertainment news, great stories about Tom Cruise juggling Bible study and, ummm, fun ladies. Laura Marano (Austin & Ally, Disney Channel) called in to talk about her first time at Big Slick this weekend, and did tell us that while she's not a great softball player she does feel confident about her bowling skills (when she can use those bumpers). With the weekend about to start we ask how you are #Blessed. We heard from Ashley, a teacher, who is taking time off to potty train her kid (wha???) and even heard from people with connections to Children's Mercy Hospital - the perfect thing for this Big Slick weekend. Our buddy Paul from B&B Theatres called in to talk about movies opening up this weekend...Cars 3, Wonder Woman and 47 Meters Down are still hot and the big, new film is Transformer: The Last Knight. The Show cast plays a round of Big Slick Password and Truta is dismayed when the girls actually had more opportunity to win than the boys. It was an unfair advantage! Next, one of the guests we've been waiting for… Sarah Chalke (Roseanne, Scrubs) called in to talk about driveway RV birthday parties, human centipede, shot putting, mall walking, and of course, Big Slick. Plus, we ask her about the return of Roseanne and Sarah sheds light on what she can - and can't - talk about in regards to the reboot. Entertainment News had one of Jen's favorites getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Join us all weekend long on social media with Big Slick updates, audio, video and more!
