Linda Raschke is one of those traders who is quoted often by other traders. That gives you a sense of the respect and regard with which she is held in the trading world. Linda started trading since the early 1980s, and after a tough introduction to the world of trading, went on to achieve great success and attained notoriety in the trading world after she was featured in one of the early Market Wizards books. Recently Linda wrote ‘Trading Sardines, Lessons in the Markets from a Lifelong Trader', a brilliant and high entertaining recap of her trading journey, where she shares great advice, valuable reflections, and a fair dash of humour, which really captures her zest for life. Linda Raschke might not be as known as Warren Buffett or George Soros. But she's had lots of successes in the markets throughout the years, and even started her own hedge fund. At one point her hedge fund was ranked 17th (out of 4500) for having the best 5 year performance, so you know she's the real deal! This episode is about how she got started in investing at a time when investing was a very male-dominated industry. This is the second part of a two-part interview with futures trader and 'Market Wizard' Linda Bradford Raschke. In this interview, Linda talks about her early trading, where she found the confidence to come back after blowing up a trading account, and why traders need to view trading as a profession. Like the first interview, this one is packed with insights from one of the great modern traders.
Linda Raschke is as passionate about trading as any trader out there. And she out-works them all. In this interview, Mick Ieronimo takes the captain chair for the first time to talk to his mentor, Linda Raschke, about how she got started trading, lost everything, found success, started managing money, and what he learned executing trades for her. This is part one of two parts. The next part will be released next week. Enjoy.

Trzy atrybuty wyróżniają Lindę Raschke w świecie profesjonalnego tradingu i zarządzania środkami pieniężnymi: świetne wyniki, wytrwałość i konsekwencja. Wszystkie one powinny być kluczowe dla każdego tradera, który poważnie podchodzi do swojego zajęcia.
I can’t believe it’s only 4 weeks until Christmas! We’ve got the Christmas ads running on the TV here already... The local grocery store has the Christmas decorations up... And they’re even playing Christmas carols - can you believe that? At home my 5-year-old daughter is already priming me for what she wants from Santa this year, which by the way is pretty much everything on TV right now! 2017 has gone by really fast and we’re coming into a time of reflection and rest, time to take a break if you can, and so I wanted to take a few minutes in this weeks Trading Thought to talk about balance, both in trading and in life. Pretty early on in my trading journey I was absolutely consumed by trading. I lived and breathed it, it was all I could think about and all I wanted to do was quit my corporate job and trade for a living. By day I was working a full-time job in a bank, and at night I was staying up late to day trade the ES. I joined a trading room and my wicked plan was to get a few hours sleep after my day job so I could then trade the US session during the night, and then when the US markets closed I would have a brief rest before I went off to work for the day. Sounds crazy right? Well at the time I thought it was a great plan, but I’m sure we can all see how poor it really was. You can probably guess what happened too. It wasn’t sustainable. I was only able to do it for a short period of time before lack of sleep impacted not only my trading, which sucked by the way, but it also started impacting my day job and it also pissed off my girlfriend at the time because... I wanted to watch 1 minute bars more than watch a movie with her! So, at that time there was no balance in my life, and my trading, health, relationships and life really suffered. In this weeks Trading Thought, I want to share some thoughts from Linda Raschke on how Balance can make us better traders. Then after that I have a small announcement to share, so take a listen to some nuggets of wisdom from Linda first.

Trade management is a critical component of a trading strategy. It can often be the difference between a profitable trade and a loss... In that episode we focused on Linda's approach to modelling the markets but in this episode Linda is back to discuss trade management and exits, including: Why trade management is such a neglected aspect of trading, How to model different types of exits and the impact of market environments, How volume and breadth measures can give clues to the tone of the market, and How to use the power of relative strength to target the best markets to trade.

Linda Raschke on "Taking Monetary Risk" by Nada Lena
This week on the show I interviewed Linda Raschke – an active trader since 1981, when she started out on the floor of the Pacific Coast Stock Exchange as an options market maker. In 1992, Jack Schwager interviewed Linda for his second installment of the Market Wizard series; The New Market Wizards. Since then, Linda has traded for several hedge funds, and in 2002 she began one of her own – which has been ranked 17th out of 4,500 hedge funds for ‘Best 5 Year Performance’ by BarclaysHedge. During this interview we covered some great topics, for example; adapting to environment changes, using models to study price behavior, and the part I really enjoyed was Linda’s advice to young traders towards the end. So please, make sure you pay close attention to this part.
This episode of Talking Trading features a very special in depth interview with Market Wizard herself Linda Raschke. Effervescent, vivacious and open about her trading Linda shares the key programs which make her money in the markets and made her a legend. She talks about her trading routine, why her horse is called Ritchie Rich, and why she had always had a love hate relationship with the market. Honest, up front and gorgeously bubbly hear why Linda is a Market Wizard and how she really did trade during labour. Linda Raschke Linda finishes every trading day riding her horse RITCHIE RICH. It is the last part of her daily trading routine, which she says is 90% of her success. She believes ORGANISATION is the number 1 skill in running a successful trading program and everything in Linda’s system has to be on autopilot. Linda has been in a LOVE-HATE relationship with the market for over 30 years. During those 30 years her trading programs have stayed exactly the same and she shares openly about the 4 key programs, which make her money in the markets. Linda says ‘You need to learn to do one thing and do it well and specialize in it. Do not try and trade too many markets and do too many things.’ She had to learn all the lessons the hard way. From blowing out her account at age 22 and going into debt 3 months into her career her advice is that people need ENDURANCE to stick it out on the learning curve. ‘Trading is definitely a patience game.’ Linda herself is still learning about trading and loves that it gives her a PhD on the world even if it has taken 10 years off her life in stress. The thing that Linda thinks she does best is SINGLE-MINDEDNESS. And it is true she traded during labor, rolling over a futures contract to her broker on the phone. Her advice to new traders, you have to have thick enough skin and be able to pull yourself up by the bootstraps. Come and enjoy and adore Linda Raschke and her openness about her market life.
