Being the best version of yourself takes time, which is why potential is going to be the main topic in this episode! Welcome ladies to The Real Estate InvestHER Show takes a deep dive into how to reach one's full potential with our special guest Nada Lena Nasserdeen. Nada is a highly experienced college professor and former education corporation executive. She has a Master's degree in Administrative Leadership and has traveled the world as a singer and motivational speaker, appearing on TEDx Talks, The Female Quotient, and more. Nada has mentored nearly 50,000 individuals on self-empowerment, career strategy, and soft skills through her company, Rise Up For You. She has also worked with Fortune 500 companies and small businesses and has been recognized as a 40 under 40 professional and Women of Influence for Entrepreneurship. Through her five-step process and discussing building a relationship with oneself, Nada explains why potential is often ignored due to our negative thoughts and lack of confidence and the importance of tapping into personal potential and the six pillars of life: self-worth, career, romantic life, health, relationships, and money. Nada shares her story of going through many life challenges, from being a performer to an executive to losing everything after getting married. Ultimately, she learned that it is not the quantity or technical skill of what you do but the depth of experience that matters. This conversation explores the idea that living with the intention of dying empty – having done everything one wanted to do in life – is the most effective way to reach full potential. With advice on how to create more urgency within oneself and focus on personal growth rather than trying to please others, this episode encourages listeners to take time for self-reflection and identify people who will help them reach their goals by committing to themselves. Join us for this inspiring conversation about finding self-love and faith even in difficult moments so you can build a life you are proud of! In today's episode, our guest is Nada Lena, founder and CEO of Rise Up For You, Leadership and Career Confidence Coach, #1 Best Selling Author, and a 2x TEDx Motivational Speaker. With over 10 years of experience as a college professor and former top executive for an education corporation, Nada understands the importance of fusing education, empowerment, and leadership as she works with her clients and speaks to audiences worldwide. She has toured the world as a singer, has a Master's degree in Administrative Leadership, and has coached and mentored close to 50,000 individuals around the world on self-empowerment, career strategy, and soft skills. And today, she is going to share with us how she rises after a dilemma and helped other people to be successful. [4:58] Why should we listen to you? I have a great balance of experience, hard work when it comes to schooling education. I think life experience and what we call street smarts are really important. I also think that showing discipline around a certain topic, and competency is important. And there's a combination of both. [06:09] When was the time you're stumbling? I used to be a performer. I used to tour around the world as a singer. I did that for about eight years. And when I got doing that got done doing that, I came back to California. I became an executive. And then I resigned and I let go of all that stuff because I got married, and I moved out of the country. And within two weeks of being married, my husband said he wanted a divorce. All I have is $100. And I just it was embarrassing and shameful. [08:07] The second thing is leadership. I was a performer and an executive, with no idea about entrepreneurship, nothing about building a business. And with $100 I came back, and I just started building because I understood that I could figure out anything. So I might have lost everything externally. But I still had my health, I still had my mom, and my two brothers, and I still had my mind, and you can do a hell of a lot with all of that. [10:50] Where do you think that strength came from? The number one thing is confidence. Confidence is important. Our company is constantly researching this 82% of professionals today struggle from confidence. They say it's their number one challenge on 82% of the workforce. They're saying that their number one challenge is confidence or confidence related.  The second thing is gratitude and having a belief in something beyond yourself. When you have that you're able to recognize when things are out of your control. There are some things in life that you just can't control. You need to be able to bounce back and bounce forward. [12:42] What do you think that you learn those moments? The biggest thing I've learned, and I wrote my whole book about it is “what is success?” It's not just about making money and buying your dream home. All the things that bring positivity within yourself to are also important. The big moment for me while I was doing this was recognizing that success is not what society paints it to be sometimes, and you have to dig deep to figure out what it means for you. [14:49] How did you stay that path? It comes down to confidence. You have to value your voice more than other people's voices. It does come back to that tenacity.  [16:40] Why it was important for you to have a clear mind? I believe that we're all put on this planet to elevate the human condition to elevate humanity. But we cannot do that unless we start within first. And that's why I wrote the book rise it for you. I think it's important that we all can provide value to other people. But the most common mistake that we make is that we try to do that without doing it for ourselves first. And then we end up pouring from an empty bucket. [18:31] What do you see becomes like the biggest initial hurdle for people? There are two things: The first one is accurate self-assessment. If you can't see it within yourself, then it's hard for you to make that shift. And sometimes people don't understand that you can't see their verbiage or their thoughts. [19:36] The second challenge is taking the action, experience, and then education. Those things can be unstoppable when you take action. The second biggest challenge is making the shift and changing the behavior so that you can create the transformation within yourself and other people. [20:38] Who is your typical client base? We have two divisions in our company. We have a corporate division, we work with small, medium, and large businesses that are struggling with company culture, and really need to help with their teams and their leaders and just enhancing culture on a people development level. Another half of our clients are working professionals that are leaders or business owners that are trying to move that needle and they don't know-how [21:41 ]Where have you found a mistake where you need to rise? It's empathy. I have to recognize that everybody has their journey. You have to be careful to understand that not everyone's motivated the same. Empathy has always been something for me that I have to work on. It doesn't come naturally for me. [23:45] How do you address struggle in real-time? I have an amazing tribe around me. And I have them assess me. I give them what I call a 24 point assessment, we use it on our clients. So the things that we give our clients. I'm constantly being assessed and getting feedback from other people. And I let them keep it anonymous if they want. [25:45] What promise did God make to the world when He created you? You really can reach your full potential. And it starts with you. And it starts with confidence. And I think that's what my gift is when I came to this planet. BIO: Nada Lena Nasserdeen is transforming companies and individuals with people, emotional, and communication skills. STORY: Lena Dena was a high-flying executive, but she gave it all up for a marriage that lasted just two weeks. LEARNING: Focus more on the inner and not the outer things that make you who you are.   “Everything you need is already inside of you; you just have to rise up for you and do it.”Nada Lena Nasserdeen  Guest profilehttps://www.linkedin.com/in/nadalena/ (Nada Lena Nasserdeen) is transforming companies and individuals with people, emotional, and communication skills. She is a TEDx speaker, best-selling author, a corporate trainer, a leadership and confidence coach, and the founder of https://www.riseupforyou.com/companygrowth (Rise Up For You). Worst investment everNada Lena was a successful executive at 28 years old, living the best life. She had everything you imagine to be a success. From a luxury car, house on the lake, boats, and kayaks to all kinds of stuff. Then she decided to spend all her energy and time building a relationship. She resigned from her company, sold everything, pulled out her 401k, and moved out of the country to get married. After two weeks of being married, Nada Lena's husband decided that he wanted a divorce. She went from a high functioning executive with six figures, a house, and all this stuff successful people have to two luggage and $100. No car, no house, no job. She had invested a lot of time, energy, and resources to make this shift happen. Unfortunately, it just didn't work out. Nada Lena had to rebuild herself up again from zero. Lessons learnedLife is more about the inner skills that help us become successful, not technical or outer skills and things that we emphasize. These don't make you who you are. It's essential to believe in yourself and feel confident that you're enough, even when you have it rough. Andrew's takeawaysIf you can get an education and a strong family bond, that's already a significant step towards success. Focus on that. Actionable adviceConstantly do a check-in with yourself on all the pillars of life—your self-worth, career, romance, health and fitness, your community, and money. Building a life that you're proud of is not only about spending all your time, money, energy, and resources in one area but having a very balanced and nurtured environment as a whole human being. So that when one pillar falls, you can still use the other five pillars to pull you back up. No. 1 goal for the next 12 monthsNada Lena's number one goal for the next 12 months is to invest in a home once the market dips. Parting words  “The greatest tragedy is wasted human potential. According to Nada, there's another reason why most people aren't running million dollar online businesses: Something stands between them and taking action in a way that's going to make a difference in their business.  In this episode, she talks about the difference between micro- and macro-confidence, where her own confidence came from and how you can build yours.  “It's OK to let fear get in the car, but don't let that sucker take the wheel.” - Nada Lena In this Episode of The Sigrun Show: Nada's journey from performer to entrepreneur (2:50) Where Nada's confidence came from (7:04) How to build your confidence when you grow your business (9:42)  Micro-confidence vs. macro-confidence (18:34)  What Nada's book is about (20:59) How to shift your confidence (23:27) How to Build Your Confidence when Growing Your Business Having confidence as an online entrepreneur can be crucial to your success. Confidence can make you more motivated and ambitious, but more importantly, it can help you overcome fear and anxiety so you can take action. This week, I spoke to Nada Lena, founder and CEO of Rise Up For You, about how you can build your confidence so it doesn't stand in the way of you growing your business.  Nada proposed three steps that can help you boost your confidence. Self-Awareness Understand your own resistance. Are you taking the actions needed to reach your goal, and if not, why?  Many online entrepreneurs spend lots of time coming up with strategies and ideas, but never implement them. Whether you're not using video, not investing in yourself, or aren't following up with your sales – get to the core of why you're not taking action.  Nada says that our thoughts and feelings drive our behaviour. Understanding them is the first step in order to change our behaviour from being passive to taking action.  Self-Compassion When online entrepreneurs start putting themselves out there, fear of failure is often right around the corner. Many of us struggle with perfectionist mindsets – we are scared of making a mistake. This fear can be paralysing and lead us to simply stop doing things.  The reality is: Everyone fails at some point. It's part of being successful and building a business. What you should be doing is recognise and remember that you're a human being, not a robot. Jump in, and if you make a mistake, it doesn't matter. You're human. You'll learn from it. And then you can get up and try again. Self-Management Every person on the planet has negative thoughts at some point. The key is how you decide to manage these thoughts. As Nada puts it: It's ok to let fear into the car, but don't let that sucker take the wheel. Because the second it does, it will drive you into a wall or go off in a direction you don't want. Take control over what you know is right, and the action you should be taking.  Nada says that most of the beliefs and thoughts in our mind don't actually belong to us. They belong to other people who have projected them onto us. As human beings, we accept them, and can end up behaving according to these beliefs that aren't even ours. That's why when you want to be successful, it's so important to be aware of what is stopping you, be compassionate with yourself when you make a mistake, and understand how to manage negative thoughts.  What do you do to boost your confidence? We are so fortunate to have Nada Lena on the podcast today to share her inspiring story and all the incredible things she's doing to help empower people around the world. Nada learned early about the entrepreneurial lifestyle from her father. As young teenagers, she and her brothers would help him run the myriad of businesses he owned like restaurants and trinket shops. Such responsibility at a young age, coupled with the confidence her father had in her helped to create the self-assured and strong person that Nada is today. Before she pursued her own entrepreneurial endeavors, Nada traveled the world as a singer, dancer and producer with the Young Americans. This is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower and inspire people globally through music, and she's still involved in the organization today. In her travels, she met many young performers like herself, but sometimes they would be saddled with insecurities and issues. This led her to became a mentor to these young performers by being a role model and a positive source of inspiration. She says that it's often the people you surround yourself with that help to drag you down. “If you're constantly hanging out with negative people that are putting you down or that feel really bad about themselves, it becomes a cesspool of negativity.” At a pivotal point in her life, when all seemed downhill and hopeless, in the middle of a plane flight Nada had an epiphany. She had two options, either quit and go home to cry for months, or she could use her pain as fuel for growth. Of course she chose the latter and this decision manifested into Rise Up For You: a social media network dedicated to empowering women to work towards living their best life. The first thing Nada did with Rise Up For You was to start a super helpful and inspirational podcast. Her reasoning behind this was to give immediate and free resources to women that they can use to help empower themselves to be better. When she started the podcast, she asked herself three questions to help her guide the show: What's my message? Empowering women to be better. What's my mission? Give strategy tips and resources that are within the six categories below. How do I build? Reaching out to experts and professionals in the six categories and getting them on the show. Nada tackles 6 elements of life through Rise Up For You: Relationships Investing Self-worth Entrepreneurship Love Health “If you can find happiness in all six of those elements, you are going to be living your best life possible. And if one of those elements isn't at its fullest potential, you're going to struggle.” One of Nada's best pieces of advice is, “If you want to go into a field where you help people, give stuff away for free.” And don't worry about giving away too much for free, because if you're great at what you do, your audience will want to work with you beyond the free content you give them. Well, Nada absolutely delivered for us here today, and everyone will learn much from her in this interview. So listen and enjoy!   SOME QUESTIONS I ASK: How did Nada transition from being a positive, confident person for herself to mentoring and coaching others in this regard? Did her prior coaching experiences help her turn the tide when she was at the lowest point of her life? What are some of the biggest lessons Nada has learned through coaching?   IN THIS EPISODE, YOU WILL LEARN: How you can reverse engineer the steps that got you to the negative space you're in now and how you can begin to get out of it. How a fear of failure and feelings of inadequacies can hold you back from advancing in life and career. How Rise Up For You helps to empower and educate women. Having a personal coach is only part of the equation, and being receptive, willing to change and eager to put in the work are the other parts.
