After reading a recent Blue Mountains Gazette story about a unique solution to address the significant issue of home insecurity and homelessness among older women in the Blue Mountains, RRR Presenter Merran Maclaren contacted Heather Shepherd from the Older Women's Network (OWN) Blue Mountains who was mentioned in the Gazette and asked her into the studio along with co-presenter Peter Lammiman, on Rights, Rorts and Rants. Thirteen home seekers have been connected with accommodation providers since May 22, 2024. You will hear towards the end of the interview Merran asking Heather how we can help to support the project. Heather explains some ways we can assist:- Do you have any spare accommodation? Do you have any prizes for raffles? Can you make a donation? Make a donation through Upper Mountains Rotary by going to www.donations.raws.com.au/14-2024-25 More about the project can be found at how.ownnsw.org.au The interview illustrates how a group of women who care about a need and act on it can work to create a solution that makes a significant difference to the lives of others and create a model that can be followed in other places. A former education boss has slammed a mega-polytech's move to cut 400 of its 10,000 workers as the latest chapter in the "trainsmash that is Te Pukenga". The Tertiary Education Union says staff have been told hundreds of jobs could go. Former Te Pukenga Deputy Chief Executive Merran Davis told Mike Hosking it was expected there'd be some sort of operating model to ensure better education outcomes when the country's 16 polytechs were centralised. She says they still have no operating model three years down the track and many millions of dollars later. Te Pukenga says no final decisions have been made.' By RNZ National polytechnic Te Pūkenga's chief executive, Stephen Town, has resigned with effect from yesterday. Te Pūkenga has been beset with difficulties as it works to bring polytechnics, institutes of technology and Industry Training Organisations together by January 1. The new mega polytechnic is facing a $100 million deficit this year and criticism that it has not done enough to prepare for taking over industry training and polytechnics in 2023. Town had been on personal leave from his job which pays up to $13,000 a week. Chairman Murray Strong and acting chief executive Peter Winder appeared before Parliament's education select committee in early August where they were questioned about the problems with the transition and what they were doing to cut costs and to work more constructively with staff. Strong said the organisation had apologised to the Minister of Education and the staff of Te Pūkenga for not making the expected progress. Former Deputy CEO Merran Davis joined Heather du Plessis-Allan. LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
A former top executive at the Government's new mega-polytechnic says it needs a complete reset. The former Deputy Chief Executive, Merran Davis, is breaking her silence following her resignation last year. She's revealed she quit because she no longer has trust and confidence in the organisation and is calling for the board to be replaced with an independent commissioner. Davis told Mike Hosking the organisation needs to involve more people who understand the sector. She says the board's role was to appoint the right chief executive, oversee progress and manage risks, but they squandered the opportunity to do so.

Dr. Jerry O. Lee, will continue the series: THE ASTOUNDING BIBLE REVELATIONS OF THE UNIVERSE part 11... There is so much of these teachings left unfinished that I will try to finish some of these incredible subjects complete with scriptures and also go forward to teach about the Merran creatures and leviathan dragons of the seas and the meaning of these creatures as would relate to the Bible. It is time to open up the facts about what is driving the push into space and what is driving so many happenings of strange and provocative things. So yes, it is time for the Manifester to take the lid off of some of the secret things of God and let the truth fly free.
