Jason does not think the Pirates would part with Seth Hernandez in a deal even if it involved Mason Miller. He doesn't think the Padres will move Miller. Which prospects would be on the table if the Pirates are buying at the deadline? Jason does not see a trade involving Oneil Cruz happening. Jason said he would trade Cruz for Miller straight up, but made it clear that it won't happen. Jason likes the idea of trading for multiple relievers instead of a big dog like Miller, which also wouldn't require the movement of their own stars. Jason thinks pretty much every prospect outside of Hernandez should be on the table. What would a potential extension for Esmerlyn Valdez look like? After scoring just three runs over the first two games of the series, Pittsburgh broke through for eight runs and 13 hits in an 8-6 win over the Rockies to avoid a sweep in Colorado. Nick Gonzales got the offense rolling with a two-run homer, Bryan Reynolds continued his outstanding June with a three-run blast, and contributions came throughout the lineup from Jake Mangum, Jared Triolo, Tyler Callihan, and Spencer Horwitz. A very odd decision from Don Kelly last night that aided a Pirates loss to the Nationals. In a spot with the Pirates down 1 run and the bases loaded, Kelly chose to lift Brandon Lowe from the game in favor of Nick Yorke. Yorke proceeded to ground into a double play immediately. Lowe hit a home run earlier in the game, off a left-handed pitcher, but was taken out instead of facing one in that spot. To top it off, that spot in the order came up with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th and Yorke popped out in foul ground with the tying and winning runs on-base. The guys thought the move was very similar to ones we would see from Derek Shelton in the past. Is there any defense to the decision? Mitch Keller didn't have a good night, so we don't want to leave him off the hook here. Fans give takes on Don Kelly over-managing last night in a Buccos loss to the Nats. The guys are not a fan of this, and think that the Steelers should go a different direction with the first-round pick.
