Laser-focused on her final World Cup, MEGAN RAPINOE chooses our podcast to go *deep* on her bittersweet decision to retire from her iconic soccer career: Why she is excited – and ready – to say goodbye to soccer;  Why representing America is so important to her in this moment;  Why she doesn't believe in sacrificing herself for the team;  How dissociation helped her on the field – and hurt her in life – and how she's working to give it up.  Plus, Megan explores the question: Does greatness have to cost you your humanity? About Megan:  Two-time World Cup Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist, Megan Rapinoe is a fan favorite and one of the team's most technical and craftiest players. A vocal leader on and off the pitch, Megan helped lead the USWNT to the 2019 Women's World Cup Championship scoring some of the biggest goals of the tournament. Megan took home the tournament's two top honors – the Golden Boot for top scorer, and the Golden Ball for the best player in the tournament. A New York Times' Best-Selling author, Time100's Most Influential People and recent Presidential Medal of Freedom award recipient, Megan is an advocate for equality for all and has been able to intersect her passion for humanity and authenticity. At the end of 2022, Megan and fiancé Sue Bird launched “A Touch More”, a new production company focused on promoting narratives around revolutionaries who move culture forward. The NCAA transfer portal still features hundreds of talented college basketball players, including former Washington State and Washington guard Noah Williams, could he stay in state and transfer to join Mark Few and the Gonzaga Bulldogs? Williams is a 6'5 combo guard who would fill a Malachi Smith role as a third guard, sixth man, and strong defensive presence on a team that needs more defense in the backcourt. What would bringing in Williams mean for Dusty Stromer, or even Steele Venters? We take a look at all possible lineup combinations and whether Williams would fit or not. We then talk about Courtney Vandersloot, who is the fastest WNBA player in history to 2,500 assists, and whether she will catch Sue Bird for first place in league history in assists. We also discuss Nigel Williams-Goss who signed a new deal with Olympiacos in Greece after winning a EuroLeague title with Real Madrid. What would a Not For Nothin' game show be like? We think we nailed the answer. Chris starts talking about how coaches dress, which leads them to somehow going down a very inappropriate conversation involving Dairy Queen and Butterfingers. Yikes. Then Chris really gets weird talking about a movie called Tiptoes. He doesn't do a good job of selling it. But it does sound insane. They somehow move away from that and end with the NBA finals, the rising starts of the WNBA and Sue Bird gets her jersey retired. Maybe they should retire this podcast, right?

Welcome to another episode of Codename: Mystics Talk with your host, Nathan Snell. In this double recap episode, we dive into the Washington Mystics' weekend games, one win and one loss. Let's start with the thrilling victory against the Dallas Wings. Elena Delle Donne once again showcased her superhero skills, leading the team to a 75-74 win. However, the Mystics need to work on maintaining leads throughout the game, especially in the second half. The key players in this game were Elena, Shatori Walker-Kimbrough, Natasha Cloud, and Erica Atkins. Despite the win, the bench performance was lackluster. Moving on to the game against the winless Minnesota Lynx, the Mystics faced disappointment as Tiffany Mitchell hit a game-winning shot. The team struggled with rebounding and lacked frontcourt depth. Offensive execution and bench production remain areas of concern. Despite rallying at times, the Mystics couldn't overcome their lapses in focus. The game against the Lynx exposed areas that need improvement, such as turnovers and defense. The bench's contribution was subpar, leading to a missed opportunity for victory. Looking ahead, the Mystics have a week off to regroup and address their weaknesses. They face the Seattle Storm and participate in Sue Bird's jersey retirement ceremony on Friday, followed by a game against the Indiana Fever on Tuesday. The Mystics aim to bounce back and seek revenge for their playoff exit last season. Join us next time for a recap of the Mystics' matches against the Storm and Fever. Until then, stay safe, stay cool, and stay hydrated. Catch you on the flip side!

Today we're talking about Riley Gaines' recent run-in with trans activists at San Francisco State University. Gaines, an athlete who famously competed against Lia Thomas, gave a speech on fairness in sports, but what started as a peaceful event turned violent when a trans protester punched her in the face. She was then chased down by a screaming mob who trapped her in a room for hours and claimed she couldn't leave until they were given money. We discuss why violent events like this tend to stem from trans hatred of women and how there probably won't be consequences (but why it's good that she's pursuing consequences anyway). The good news is that normal people are starting to realize how ridiculous it all is. Another example of men skipping the line is a British man who identifies as a woman who has gained accolades for his mediocre ballet, being accepted to a prestigious dance academy. Meanwhile Megan Rapinoe and Sue Bird, who are both successful female athletes, are fighting for men to compete against women. We explain why affirming lies is evil, no matter how kind you think you're being. Then, we take a look at Mike Todd's Transformation Church and its absolutely wild Easter service, which featured ... twerking? --- Timecodes: (00:36) Intro (02:09) Men competing in women's sports (07:37) Riley Gaines (24:24) Trans ballerina (28:10) Megan Rapinoe & Sue Bird want men to compete against women (32:11) Affirming delusions & Genesis 1 issues (44:30) Transformation Church Easter service --- Today's Sponsors: EdenPURE — when you buy one Thunderstorm you get one FREE, this week only!
