The Orlando Pride remained unbeaten in the state of California, but it wasn't easy. Barbra Banda snapped a scoreless tie early in the second half and the Pride held on against a barrage of Bay FC attacks down the stretch to claim another road win. Anna Moorhouse played well to keep the clean sheet in Orlando's second consecutive 1-0 win and third victory in a row.We looked back at the key moments and players, checked our score predictions from our last show, and made our selections for Player of the Match. This week's mailbagbox wanted to know about the Pride's ideal formation, the Tampa Bay Sun winning the USL title, the recent addition of Simone Jackson, Moorhouse's performance, and more. Another week, another slightly chaotic result. Bay FC lost 1-0 at home to the Orlando Pride, but not without producing some scintillating stuff in the game-state-driven closing stage of the match. Might Bay be turning the corner in spite of the result? Might Orlando be just fine despite some regression from last year? The guys puzzle it over (21:06). Then, they chat with new Angel City FC head coach Alex Straus about his coaching philosophy, his ambitions for this season, and what the team can accomplish in years to come. Somehow, some way, Hegel gets referenced (39:45).  Subscribe to our Patreon for only $6/month ($60/year) to get all of our exclusive bonus content! The Orlando Pride returned to action after the international break and left it late before dispatching the Houston Dash 1-0. Cori Dyke was the improbable hero, scoring deep in stoppage time to snare all three points for the hometown Pride. A goal to win it late is better than no goal at all, especially when that goal is the game winner. It nearly wasn't, as Anna Moorhouse was saved blushes for a mistake by an offside flag, but in the end, even ugly wins are wins.We look back at the key moments in the match, check our score predictions, and make our selections for Player of the Match. We also discussed Marta and Angelina being selected for Brazil's Copa America Femenina roster. For the Glory KC is back with the 132nd episode of the show after an unexpected week off. Sporting Kansas City had a very busy week loaded with (frankly, ridiculous) travel. After nearly 5,000 miles, they picked up two hard fought points against St. Louis City SC and San Diego FC. The draw against their cross-state rivals definitely felt like a victory as they snatched the point from the jaws of defeat. The San Diego game was more of a slog, as though a team had travelled a ton, heavily rotated their lineup, missed one of their two Designated Players and were playing a superior opponent at home. Despite that, they still earned a draw.Sheena returns after a brief hiatus, and we work our way through both of those games as well as a brief mention of the 1-0 loss to the Portland Timbers from last week we didn't get to cover. The theme of the three games was definitely defense, villains and goalkeeping. All three get high marks as Shapi Suleymanov and Jansen Miller tortured the St. Louis fans. Pulskamp also stood on his head across all three games. And Robert Voloder may have cemented himself as the starter next to Miller at center back, with a revolving door of fullbacks playing next to them.Since our last episode, MLS also released roster compositions for all 30 MLS teams. Sporting KC have no surprises with two open international spots and the ability to add a Designated Player along with a U-22 Initiative player, or two U-22 signings. To aid in that addition this summer is $1,928,679 in General Allocation Money (GAM), of which at least $500,000 is burning a hole in their pocket and has to be spent. Also, we get into the movement of the LAFC/SKC game from a crowded week to an international break weekend. The KC Current got back to their winning ways with us taking the last week off. They beat Bay FC 4-1 before heading on the road to take out the Orlando Pride 1-0. The biggest questions coming off the victory that further cemented their first-place status is, at what cost did it come? Alana Cook, Debinha and Temwa Chawinga all left the game injured. In the Digital Crawl, we touch on a few more topics, including:SKC II slightly improving on their strugglesFormer SKC player updates on CJ Sapong, Kei Kamara and Gianluca BusioGreg Vanney gets his contract extended after the worst start to a season in MLS historyHere is a rundown of topics (and approximate start times):A Hard Fought SKC Point against San Diego - 6:36Sporting KC's big comeback vs St. Louis - 18:41A quick look at SKC vs. Portland - 48:10Sporting KC have room to spend - 52:17KC Current slip by Orlando and crush Bay FC - 1:06:28Digital Crawl - 1:14:33Upcoming GamesSKC II vs. LAFC2, Friday, May 23rd at 6:00PM CDT KC Current vs. Chicago Stars, Saturday, May 24th at 6:30PMSporting KC vs New England Revolution, Saturday, May 24th at 7:30PMAs a special gift to For the Glory KC listeners and KC Soccer Journal readers, Backheeled dot com is giving away 30 days of their amazing, independent American soccer coverage for free. We're back for our 2025 season preview! In today's episode, we give our final notes on the international window and break down some roster updates—including the recent injury relief signings of Aria Nagai, Kayla Colbert, and Sydney Jones, strengthening the squad as we head into the season. We share our hopes and dreams for the 2025 season, preview the March 15th home opener against Bay FC, and discuss what we're expecting from the Royals this year. We (almost) agree on our starting XI that factors in recent injuries, and talk about Royal Riot's expectations for a playoff berth. Plus, we reflect on the continued growth of the Royals fan base and what we're most excited about for this season. All that and more as we get ready for what promises to be an exciting year ahead! Royal Riot is presented by ABC4Utah.

Tobin and Christen discuss the importance of telling the stories of the players and moments who came before them. How does storytelling preserve history? Why does the lack of footage and social media from decades ago make it hard for the youth to know about the game's greats? And what can be done today to help change it? Then, Tobin and Christen welcome USWNT legend and Bay FC founder, Leslie Osborne, for a conversation on Leslie's experience as an athlete and how it equipped her to become a founder, entrepreneur and businesswoman. Plus, our new segment called The Kickoff and, of course, your Community Questions!
