Dame Sarr has committed to Duke, so Jason and Donald jump on quickly with Scott Rich to discuss it on a quick DBR Bites! Sarr's commitment is a big one and we take a few minutes to herald Jon Scheyer and the staff for landing Another One. Sarr's defense is exciting as well as his upside. We also quickly discuss what it means for the rotation and who could be the #2 option on offense after Cam Boozer. After the break, we discuss Duke scheduling Texas Tech for a game at Madison Square Garden on December 20th. The game will be 7 years to the day since the two teams faced each other in a non-conference game also at the Garden. We're back with Episode 725, as Scott Rich joins Donald and we get a brief report from Jason live from Japan! Cedric Coward has committed to the Duke Blue Devils via the transfer portal, and we're very excited about all the possibilities. We give a rundown of some of his game and what he could bring to the Blue Devils. He's still navigating a shoulder injury and the NBA Draft process, but should he come back to college, it could be as a 2nd or 3rd scoring option for Duke. We then get into Khaman Maluach declaring for the NBA Draft, and Scott and Donald take the time to discuss how much fun it was to watch him develop this year. He brought some exciting moments and he will be someone that can do very well at the next level. We cloes out with a report that the ACC has decided to go from 20 conference games to 18 in order to give teams more opportunities to schedule marquee non-conference schedules. We think that the ACC is not addressing the issues it faced this season in the right way. Make sure you're following us! We're back with Episode 724, and Scott Rich is back to join Donald as they discuss the close of the transfer portal entry deadline! The portal is closed to new entrants, and Jon Scheyer has successfully kept some continuity on the roster. Isaiah Evans, Maliq Brown, Darren Harris, and Patrick Ngongba will all be back with the Duke Blue Devils next season, and we discuss how welcome a sight that is. In a world where the portal affects everyone, Duke is one of the few power conference teams to not lose any of their main rotation players to the portal. While Duke could look to add a final piece or two, the certain thing is that Scheyer wanted continuity...and he got it. After the break, the two men from Michigan discuss the report that Duke could be playing Michigan in February 2026 in DC. Of course, Donald is happy about the Blue Devils being down the street from him, but we look at the potential matchup and how Jon Scheyer is trying to test his guys with these marquee games. We close with a salute to the life of Mike Patrick, who passed away at age 80 a few days ago. Make sure you're following us! Episode 723 is a sad one as we say goodbye to three Duke Blue Devils who are either headed to the NBA or entering the transfer portal as a grad transfer. Jordan Brenner from the Underdogs Podcast joins Donald with Jason still out on international duty. The big story is Cooper Flagg officially announcing that he is leaving Duke for the NBA, where he will presumably be the #1 pick in the NBA Draft in June. We look back at his historic year where he was the best player in college basketball and was just a ton of fun to watch. Jordan and Donald discuss which teams could be a good or intriguing fit for Cooper as he heads to the next level. We also touch on Tyrese Proctor declaring for the NBA Draft. He had a monster year for Duke, a redemption year for the Aussie assassin. He is a player who NBA teams really do need and we look forward to seeing who decides to take him. The 3 and D attributes only tell some of the tale about how he can impact a franchise. Finally, Stanley Borden will graduate from Duke next month, and he has decided to take a graduate year somewhere else. Despite not scoring a point for Duke, he was a fan favorite, and we show him some love as he departs the program to try and get some playing time in his final year of eligibility. We're back with Episode 722 as we learned the other day that Caleb Foster will be back with the Duke Blue Devils next season! Caleb Foster announcement that he is coming back for his junior season at Duke has everyone excited. Donald is once again joined by Scott Rich to discuss what it means for next year's team, and we hear from Jason as he's on his travels through Japan. We get into his struggles this season and how he can use a full offseason to improve and have a terrific junior season. After the break, we get to the sad as Shelton Henderson announced late Thursday night that he will decommit from Duke. Donald and Scott discuss what it could mean in the form of what's coming and also dispel some of the rumors out there about why Shelton ultimately decided to go in a different direction. We return with Episode 721 as we discuss Kon Knueppel declaring for the NBA Draft and Sion James' academic honors. With Jason flying the friendly skies, Scott Rich is back to join Donald as they take a look back at Kon II's incredible season in a Duke uniform. The kid that was very much overlooked by many is set to be a likely top 10 pick when the NBA Draft takes place in June. We're so excited for him and so proud at how he left a legacy in his one season in Durham. After the break, we turn to Sion James, who was named an Academic All-American the other day. We're just so lucky to have had Sion James at Duke, and he (along with Kon) will be the part of the blueprint of the program for years to come. He was a star on the court, but he was even better off the court and in the community. Make sure you're following us! Cameron Boozer, Cayden Boozer, and Nik Khamenia (last name pronounced with a silent K) played on Team USA in the men's game, and each of them shined thoughout the week. The biggest star was Cameron Boozer, who lit up the stat sheet and dominated throughout the game. We get into each of the players and how they did and how excited we are to see them in Duke Blue. We also give some updates on Nate Ament's recruitment and some of the rumblings we've heard about what could be affecting his announcement. Of course, we also discuss Emilee Skinner's performance in the women's game and how she fits into Kara Lawson's squad for next year. The Arizona game was a tough game, but Duke was able to get through with some key plays on both offense and defense. Donald and Jason take you through it all, highlighting where Duke succeeded and where they could improve. The referees were a big topic of discussion from this game, and we bring in a college referee to help explain why some of the calls were tough ones to make. We then preview our game against Alabama, which is another difficult team to play. They play faster than everyone in the country, and they're coming off a game where they hit the most 3s in a game in NCAA Tournament history. The Duke Blue Devils are ACC champions! For the first time since 2005-2006, Duke wins the ACC Tournament after claiming the outright regular season title, defeating the Louisville Cardinals 73-62. Donald and Jason recap everything on Episode 706. It was a tough win for the Blue Devils, who didn't have a great first half but surged in the second half to take the game. The second half defense and the tenacity the team showed was incredible. Kon Knueppel was the ACC Tournament MVP, but there were several unsung heroes that helped Duke to the ACC title. After the break, we discuss some of the things that need to improve as we turn to the NCAA Tournament. We give out our Play of the Game as well as our Player of the Week as well. The Duke Blue Devils survive another one in the ACC Tournament after a 74-71 win over the UNC. We recap everything and preview the ACC Tournament Final on Episode 705. It was a tale of two halves in Charlotte, as Donald and Jason recap what was an amazing first half from the Blue Devils. Lots of great play by some unsung heroes, from Pat Ngongba and Khaman Maluach to Isaiah Evans to Kon Knueppel and Sion James. There was a lot of great play in the first half, including some hustle plays that proved to be the difference. The second half was not as great, as Duke almost saw a 24 point lead turn into a UNC win. Thankfully, Jae'Lyn Withers' lane violation at the end helped Duke escape. Next up is the ACC Tournament Final, and Duke will face the Louisville Cardinals. They have played tremendously well since we last faced them on December 8th, the first ACC game of the season for both teams. It's somewhat fitting that the final ACC game of the season pits these two teams together for the title. We preview that game and what to watch for when the teams tip off tonight. The Duke Blue Devils advance in the ACC Tournament after a win over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, but Cooper Flagg and Maliq Brown picked up injuries that could keep both out for differing lengths of time. We discuss it on Episode 704. Jason is in Charlotte for the ACC Tournament and gives his take from his vantage point on press row at the Spectrum Center. He and Donald discuss all that happened in this game, from the vibes in the arena to Cooper Flagg injuring his ankle just minutes after Maliq Brown injured his shoulder again. Still, this team was resilient in storming back to take the lead and keep Georgia Tech at arm's length the rest of the way. There was some good in this game but also some things to improve as the team moves onto the ACC Tournament semifinals. Standing in their way: UNC, who beat Wake Forest to set up a third battle between the two rivals and the second matchup in 6 days. Jason and Donald forego the normal preview to discuss some of the things to watch as Duke adjusts to having Flagg and Brown unavailable. We end with a tribute to John Feinstein, who passed away suddenly on Thursday. Make sure you're following us! Duke just hit #1 in the rankings, and we get into a lot of how Duke arrived at this point. We even look at some of the concerns that Duke may have as they enter the postseason, from Jai Lucas leaving for Miami to some potential holes in the defense. We also discuss the NCAA Tournament and which upsets could make you look like a genius when it's time to fill out your brackets. Duke's on a streak of their own, which makes this game even more intriguing. Donald and Jason take us through what UNC has done since we last saw them on February 1st and what to watch as the teams take the floor on Saturday night. The Duke Blue Devils hammered the Wake Forest Demon Deacons last night to cap an undefeated 17-0 record in Cameron this season. We recap it all on Episode 699. With Jason out, our 6th Man Scott Rich joins Donald to recap everything that happened in this game. Duke had a sluggish start, but it was so much fun to see this team scrap to take the lead and open it up to a 40 point lead late before winning 93-60. Scott and Donald talk though all of the major things that Duke did well, from hustle to defense to Cooper Flagg's NPOY performance. We also get into some of the bad, including a discussion on Caleb Foster not getting into the game. There were some picks to nit, but this team is steadily becoming one that no one wants to mess with in March. We end with love for the Duke Women's Team as they prepare for the ACC Tournament this week in Greensboro. Make sure you're following us! The Duke Blue Devils destroyed the Miami Hurricanes, but it may have come at a huge cost as Jason and Donald recap everything on DBR Bites #95. The big focus of the crew is on Tyrese Proctor, who injured his knee last night during the game. There's no official word on what the diagnosis is, but we hope it's not major. We discuss what his absence means for the team and we discuss some of the headlines that came in, some well before they were due. On the court, Isaiah Evans was once again on fire and we lead with another fun game from him. The rest of the team showed out on offense and defense, and we get to a lot of each. From Kon Knueppel to Cooper Flagg to Big Pat Ngongba and Caleb Foster, it was a sight to watch this team absolutely cook the Canes. We discuss a couple of the things that we want to see improve from this game as well as the Play of the Game, and we'll be back in your feeds very quickly as Florida State awaits this weekend. The Duke Blue Devils are back on the road, this time on a trip to take on the Miami Hurricanes. We preview tomorrow's game on DBR Bites #94. Before the game preview of the team that we've seen before, we heard from Coach Jon Scheyer on the rumors linking Jai Lucas to the Miami head coaching job. Donald was able to get some info from the weekly ACC press conference, so you won't want to miss what Scheyer had to say. We then get into previewing the Canes, who are the worst team in the ACC. Still it's a game that Duke wants to win to keep their momentum going. We'll also hear from Miami interim coach Bill Courtney about some of his lineup rotations and what he thinks the Canes need to do in order to beat Duke. Make sure you're following us! It's another fun one! Jason and Donald are back with Episode 694 to recap Duke's stomping of the Stanford Cardinal. Duke was able to frustrate Stanford with their defense, and it was a sight to see. After general thoughts and headlines, we discuss how the defense allowed Duke to feel comfortable all afternoon. The offense was on point as well, and Duke shot really well. We hit our stride and there were several notable performances to highlight. We get into some nitpicky things that we can improve, but when you score 106 points in a 36-point win, it makes for a fun and entertaining recap! We end with our play of the game and a split Player of the Week. We will be back in your feeds very soon to preview the Virginia game. Make sure you're following us! The Duke Blue Devils have a huge test on Saturday night against the Clemson Tigers. We preview the Quad 1 game on DBR Bites #89. Duke enters the contest in 1st place and undefeated in the ACC, but Littlejohn is traditionally a tough place for Duke to play against the Tigers, who are tied for 2nd in the conference. Donald and Jason bring you up to speed on what has made Clemson successful thus far, from what they do well on offense and defense to some of their special players. Duke can beat Clemson, and we also tell you how that can happen. We also discuss the volatile NBA trade deadline that passed on Thursday. It's time. The big game is upon us and we preview Duke's matchup with North Carolina on Episode 689! UNC has struggled this season against a loaded schedule, one of the best of the country. Donald and Jason get into who UNC has played and how they've struggled in very close games. They then break down the offense and defense, going deep to tell you about what makes UNC successful and where Duke could have an advantage. They have some players that are dangerous, but they've struggled this year with the combinations on the court and that has created inconsistency. We then get into the things to watch, including who matches up with Cooper Flagg, rebounding, and embracing the huge moment that this rivalry provides. After the break, Duke Football got their 2025 schedule, and it's an interesting one! We discuss the schedule quickly to tell you which games to circle and how Duke could be set up for a decent run if they can make it through a couple of barriers. Make sure you're following us! What was that game?! Donald and Jason hop on almost immediately after Duke beat NC State to discuss all the ancillary weirdness that attached itself to this game. From the weird (Khaman Maluach losing his lunch) to the wild (Tyrese Proctor being saved from falling out of bounds by Kon Knueppel holding his leg down) to the downright scary (a fan passing out in the stands), we decided to jump on for a few minutes to talk about those things. The actual basketball game action will be recapped on Tuesday, so submit your headlines to our email (DBR Podcast at Gmail dot com). But this is 15 minutes of recapping the weird non-basketball moments of this game. Somehow, Duke is still unbeaten in the ACC, but we're left not knowing how quite to fully process this win. The Duke Blue Devils toughed out a 63-56 win over Wake Forest on Saturday afternoon, and we recap the win on Episode 686. Donald and Jason begin with the headlines after a tough win and start by commending Duke for their resilience in coming back after Wake stormed to take the lead. They center a lot of the kudos around two bench players: Mason Gillis and Patrick Ngongba. Both players had tremendous efforts and were two of the main reasons why Duke remains undefeated in the ACC. We focus on the rest of the good, from rebounding to Cooper Flagg down the stretch. After the break, we get into the things that need to improve from this game, starting with turnovers and eliminating the overall sloppiness. That led to some of Wake's ability to bounce back and take a lead midway through the second half. There was also physical play and we discuss all of the nuances behind how Wake was able to use physicality to their advantage. We close out with our play of the game as well as our Player of the Week. Also, look alive! We will be back in your feed very soon to preview the NC State game, which is on Monday night. The Duke Blue Devils have a big game this Saturday when they take the road to face the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. We preview the game on DBR Bites Episode 84. Wake Forest is one of the top teams in the ACC right now and coming off a home win against UNC. They've defended their home court, going 10-0 so far this season. They put that record up against a Duke team that's currently undefeated in conference play. Donald and Jason discuss the upcoming game, going through what Wake does well and where Duke could have an advantage. The Duke Blue Devils absolutely took the wind out of the Miami Hurricanes in a 89-54 beatdown on Tuesday night. Scott Rich joins us to discuss it all on Episode 683! It's Jason's birthday (happy birthday Jason!) so he's only on for a few minutes at the beginning to discuss Caleb Foster's really good game as well as how bad the Miami defense was in letting Duke get any shot it wanted. After he departs, Donald and Scott go through the rest of the good, from Kon Knueppel's career day in points to Khaman Maluach's 15 rebounds to the great games from Mason Gillis, Patrick Ngongba, and the rest of the bench. The defense was there, the shooting was there, and Bill Courtney and the Canes just didn't have the pace to keep up with the Blue Devils. After the break, it was as close to a full 40 minute performance as we've seen from Duke, but there were still some details to clean up from this game. Scott and Donald get into it and then they go to Play of the Game, where they both take different perspectives of the same thunderous alley oop from Maluach. Make sure you're following us! The Duke Blue Devils won their game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish yesterday in a game that got close at the end. However, Cooper Flagg's record 42 points was the difference, and we recap it all on Episode 681. Cooper Flagg's 42 points was an ACC freshman record, the most points for Duke in over 35 years, and was incredible to watch. But, Notre Dame made it a test at the end, and Jason and Donald begin by discussing that test that the Blue Devils received. They then get into the headlines and all the good from the game, including Khaman Maluach's career day. Cooper Flagg's stat line is nothing short of mesmerizing, and there were other things that Duke did successfully on the afternoon. After the break, we focus on what was not successful for Duke, from our defense late in the game to the bench production. Maliq Brown leaving the game after a minute due to injury is very concerning, and we hope that it's not too serious. But, Duke got a bit of a pop quiz from the Fighting Irish, and while it wasn't perfect, they were able to pass it and remain undefeated in the ACC. We of course end with our Play of the Game and our Player of the Week, which should come as no surprise. Make sure you're following us! The Duke Blue Devils are back in action on Saturday afternoon against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. We preview that game on DBR Bites Episode 81! Duke is 5-0 in the ACC and they have been rolling lately, and the Fighting Irish enters with a 7-7 record and reeling. But, they recently had Markus Burton return to the lineup and he is the heart and soul of the team. Together with Tae Harris and Braeden Shrewsberry, they post the biggest issues for Duke's defense. Jason and Donald go through what Notre Dame does successfully and where Duke can take advantage. We're hoping the defensive pressure continues against Notre Dame to keep them frustrated. The Duke Blue Devils won in fun fashion against the Pitt Panthers, and we recap everything on Episode 679! There's no way we can get into the recap without starting with the Dunk of the Season so far, when Cooper Flagg absolutely caught a body (and the foul) against Pitt center Guillermo Diaz Graham. We get into the rest of the good from the game, most notably the defense. The defense is performing at historic levels, and it's incredible to watch. It's fueled how Duke takes these games over and shuts an opponent down. We also deal with the stuff to improve from this game, from the turnovers to Jason and Donald's ability to make an opponent sound dangerous! There was a lot to discuss from this one, so it's a longer episode. But, it's one you'll want to listen to from start to finish! Make sure you're following us! The Duke Blue Devils return home tomorrow to take on the Pitt Panthers, and we preview the Quad 1 game on DBR Bites Episode 80. Duke and Pitt both enter with 12-2 records overall and undefeated in the ACC, and this is a strong Pitt team led by a beloved member of The Brotherhood in Jeff Capel. Capel has a team that has quite a bit of continuity, which makes their elevation to one of the best teams in the ACC. They have some length and some toughness, and they have some guys who can put the biscuit in the basket. Donald and Jason go through what Pitt brings to Cameron and how Duke can continue their unbeaten start to the ACC schedule. Before the break, we also do a little word on The Duke Effect and how many people tuned into Duke Basketball in 2024. After the break, we switch to football, where Duke lost to Ole Miss last week in the Gator Bowl. Despite the 52-20 scoreline, there was some things to be proud of from Duke on both sides of the ball. We discuss how Henry Belin IV did throwing the football and how Duke is set up to be a contender for the ACC title next year with their schedule and many of the players coming back, including All-American Chandler Rivers. Welcome to 2025! The Duke Blue Devils closed out 2024 yesterday with a win over Virginia Tech, so we ring in the new year with Episode 677! Donald and Jason break down the win over the Hokies by first talking about the vibes inside the building. Donald was in the building and ran into some listeners in what was a great time for all. We get into the good that happened, led by Cooper Flagg's 24 points and Tyrese Proctor playing the game with some spunk. There was a lot to discuss, including Duke going 100% from the free throw line! After the break, we get into some of the things that can be improved upon and there's a major theme: rust was butter flavored yesterday. We then discuss our play of the game, which was a fun one. Duke Basketball ends 2024 with a game against the Virginia Tech Hokies and Duke Football begins 2025 with the Gator Bowl against the Ole Miss Rebels. We preview both games on DBR Bites Episode 78. Duke Basketball has a New Year's Eve matchup with the Hokies, with Jaden Schutt returning to Cameron for the first time since he transferred to Blacksburg. He's coming back as the Schutter we knew he could be and he's likely coming with some extra motivation. Virginia Tech hasn't played well this season, but they still have some guys to watch as Donald and Jason give you an in depth look at what they do on both sides of the ball. After the break, we switch to football as Duke has a huge test against Ole Miss in the Gator Bowl on Thursday. Ole Miss is scary good, with most of their stars expected to play in the bowl game. While the Duke Blue Devils get an earned holiday break, the DBR Podcast crew is still hard at work. On Episode 676, we welcome back Ryan Young to the show for an awesome discussion! Ryan Young has graduated from Fuqua and is in the real world, and we figured it was a great time to catch up with the beloved former center to see what he's been up to since he got his Fuqua degree. He's been able to watch several games in person this season as a fan, so we naturally get his thoughts on the current team, how they've been doing, and how he would have fit in the squad had he possessed one final year of eligibility. We also get into the current state of college basketball, from the transfer portal to growing NIL numbers and how teams are affected. Of course, Ryan has a unique perspective as someone whose career started at Northwestern Wildcats as a freshman with no NIL and no transfer portal and ended with a Duke career with an extra year due to Covid and in a world where the transfer portal and NIL exists. He's very candid with his thoughts on how the game has changed from the player's perspective as well as the coach's perspective, and it's great to that he took the time to provide us with that insight. Bill Belichick's arrival at UNC Football has brought a renewed investment in the program. But will it come at a price for UNC Basketball? Sam Klein is back to help Jason and Donald break it down on DBR Bites Episode 76. With Belichick comes the guaranteed increased in football investments, from assistant salaries to NIL dollars. Some in UNC circles feel that boosters may sacrifice basketball for a few years for the purpose of getting UNC into either the SEC or the Big Ten. Donald, Jason, and Sam debate whether the end of UNC Basketball's relevance is a real possibility. There's lots to consider here: whether UNC Basketball can continue to pull in top talent, whether big boosters out there are willing to continue investing in basketball, the potential for private equity to enter the fray, and whether the SEC or Big Ten would even want them in the next decade. It's not an easy answer and it makes for a good discussion. After the break, we take a look at CNBC's list of perceived college athletics valuations. While the Big Ten and SEC dominate the list, Duke is in a pretty good position. Duke Basketball helps, but it's the overall performance of the athletics department combined with other factors that has Duke in position to be okay, no matter how conference realignment continues to map its course. The Duke Blue Devils head to Atlanta this weekend to take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and we preview it on DBR Bites Episode 75. The Yellow Jackets stung the Devils last year in Atlanta, but once again have had a really bad start to the season. Still, they have some players who are dangerous and this is a game they've no doubt circled as a big time win opportunity. Donald and Jason discuss their record to date and then get into the analytics and players. After the break, Vanderbilt's Diego Pavia got a favorable court ruling that allows him to continue to play college football next season despite playing some junior college ball. The ruling could pave the way for JUCO athletes to get a full 4 years of eligibility to pursue NIL opportunities. But some may not think it's a great idea, and we quickly discuss the pros and cons. The Duke Blue Devils once again struggled shooting, but their defense made the George Mason Patriots put up bricks all night in a 68-47 victory. We recap the victory on Episode 674. Duke actually had a good start this time, but they still saw a first half where they had a large stretch with bad shooting. After reviewing the headlines, Donald and Jason review the good from the game, which was highlighted by the stellar defense. Cooper Flagg led all scorers with 24 points and another near 10-5-5 game, and there were some standout moments from other players as well. Isaiah Evans once again proved to be a microwave off the bench. After the break, we get to the bad, led by the first half shooting woes. There were also some details that need to be worked out and we discuss how to get a couple of key contributors their confidence back. We end with our Play of the Game as Duke moves to 9-2 on the season. Make sure you're following us! The Duke Blue Devils didn't look great in a win against Incarnate Word, but a win's a win. Donald and Jason jump on quickly after the game to recap it on Episode 672. Duke was led by a career night from Khaman Maluach, who was the star of the first half. Isaiah Evans was the pace car in the second half. But while ManMan had a great night and Evans had a great half, Duke struggled on offense. After the headlines, Donald and Jason get to the good and bad from this game. It was a game where Duke really struggled to put Incarnate Word away in the first half and let them hang before the defense took over in the second half to make it a bigger win. Still, they needed to play through yet another slow start and needed to have more intensity and mental sharpness throughout the game. After the break, we discuss Maalik Murphy's decision to enter the transfer portal. He will not play for Duke in the bowl game against Ole Miss, and we discuss his season at Duke. We wish him the best as he moves on and we talk about the state of the portal in college football. Despite many fans being angry at him leaving and the transfer portal at large, Duke has so far had it pretty easy despite the high profile departure. And, help could be on the way. The Duke Blue Devils have a huge game coming up tomorrow night in Cameron against the Auburn Tigers. Donald and Jason are here to preview the game on Episode 669. Duke has a top 2 non-conference team coming to Cameron for the first time since 1992, and Auburn is an incredibly strong team. They just won the Maui Invitational and they're #2 in the AP and Coaches polls. They're #1 in KenPom as well, led by their prolific offense that can be lethal. We go through who they've beaten and then hit the analytics to show where they're truly strong on both sides of the basketball. We then discuss the players, led by Johni Broome, a leading National Player of the Year candidate. He's strong, and his teammates are as well. We then discuss some of the matchups to watch for tomorrow night. After the break, we discuss the rest of the ACC-SEC Challenge, with Donald and Jason each picking a couple of games to focus on. The ACC has their work cut out for them against the best conference in the country, but it's the details that will be the difference for the conference. We end with discussion on the first NET rankings and how the ACC is really struggling at the bottom. Make sure you're following us! The Duke Blue Devils are back in action on Friday night against the Seattle Redhawks, and we preview that contest on DBR Bites Episode 71. Duke looks to regroup after the loss to Kansas in Las Vegas, and they close out the week against a Seattle team that is stronger than their 2-4 record would indicate. Jason and Donald preview what to expect from Seattle, from their analytics to their players. They then break down some of the matchups to watch for when the two teams hit the floor on Friday night. After the break, Daniel Jones was released by the New York Giants, but has found a new home with the Minnesota Vikings. We briefly discuss the hopes for Danny Dimes with the Vikings and the hopes he can carve out a new path in his NFL career. Make sure you're following us! Ugh, we hate these episodes. The Duke Blue Devils dropped a close game to the Kansas Jayhawks in Las Vegas, and on the Devil's Episode, we recap the second loss of the year. Donald was in Vegas at the game, so he begins with a recap of the meet up he had with DBR Podcast listeners before the game! It's always great to meet our listeners, and we'll do it again soon. Donald and Jason then get to the game, with headlines, general thoughts, and discussing some of the good things that did happen. They then get to the bad from this game, and it was a game of details. There are so many chances that Duke had to take control of this game at certain moments, but they weren't able to do so. We also address the question of whether it was Kansas outcoaching Duke down the stretch. We close things out with our Play of the Game. Make sure you're following us! The Duke Blue Devils got the huge road win last night against the Arizona Wildcats, and we recap everything on Episode 664. Duke went to Tucson to take on Arizona, and thankfully the defense and fight were present the entire night. Donald and Jason start with the headlines and then talk about everything that Duke did to win this game at McKale Memorial. It was a dogfight of a game, and Duke showed that they can withstand it and do what's necessary to win. It was a frustrating game offensively for large stretches of the night, but the defense led the way and especially the rebounding. Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, Sion James, and Tyrese Proctor are all standouts for very different reasons. After the break, we discuss the things that needed to be better, from free throws to missed layups. It wasn't a perfect game and it was frustrating game. But, the fight got us across the finish line. We then discuss our play of the game as well as our players of the week. Next up: the Kansas Jayhawks in Las Vegas. Donald will be there! All listeners are invited to come meet up with him at Tom's Watch Bar inside New York/New York Casino at 3pm PT on Tuesday to say hi and talk some Duke Basketball ahead of the big game. The Duke Blue Devils bounced back in a big way against Wofford on Saturday, and we recap it on Episode 663. Jason joins Donald for a few minutes from Las Vegas on this one, so we welcome Scott Rich back to the show to help Donald sift through all the good that happened in the game. There were some standout performances individually, but the defense was sensational and set some records. After the break, Donald and Scott nitpick with the stuff to work on and they pick their plays of the game and player of the week. It's a fun recap with so many good things, and then the wait is on for the Arizona game next Friday. Make sure you're following us! The Duke Blue Devils return to Cameron on Saturday to take on the Wofford Terriers, and we preview the game on DBR Bites #68. Charles Barkley once said famously, “I don't know what a Wofford is...but I know basketball.” Well, we get to learn who the Wofford Terriers are as we get ready for the Blue Devils to line up against them. This is always that difficult team that gives opponents fits in the NCAA Tournament, so we have to take them seriously. After discussing who Wofford has played and how they've done so far, Jason and Donald get into the analytics, focusing on what they do well on offense and defense as well as where they haven't been great. Hopefully the 3 point shooting is back on Saturday, because Wofford allows a lot of them! We then discuss some of the players who we could see from Wofford, including one that has a personal connection to Jason that will have him perhaps cheering for a couple of Terrier 3s on Saturday. After the break, Duke is headed to Army next year for a Veterans Day road game at West Point, and we think that's going to be super cool. And, we end with Jared McCain absolutely lighting it up for the Philadelphia 76ers and earning some buzz for Rookie of the Year. Make sure you're following us!
