The plot thickens during Drew Quartermaine's (Cameron Mathison) campaign event as Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) overhears a suspicious phone call concerning Heather Webber's (Alley Mills) blood test. The discovery of two drastically different lab results has cast a shadow of doubt over Portia's actions, especially since she was the one who drew the blood.  General Hospital fans saw actor Parry Shen returned to the show as Brad Cooper, who is known for his history of rigging tests. With Ric and Elizabeth digging deeper, Portia's actions could lead to serious repercussions, including potential criminal charges and the loss of her medical license. “For little kids like us growing up in the South to see someone that looked like you on the screen is super important, but I now need the white person to see the Asian story. I need the Asian person to see the Black story — representation matters on a lot of fronts.”   Keith Chow is the founder of the Nerds of Color, where Raman was recently a guest on one of Keith's podcasts — “Southern Fried Asian.” Typically, stories about Asian Americans are centered on the experiences of those who grew up on the coasts -- New York, Southern California, the Bay Area -- where large and diverse Asian Americans communities have lived and thrived for decades. On Southern Fried Asian, Keith takes a look at a part of  the country that isn't typically associated with these stories and unpack what it means to be Asian American in the American South. Keith grew up in rural Virginia, and as you know, Raman grew up in (the suburbs of) the great state of Alabama, so was really interested to have a chat with Keith to compare notes on solving racism with podcasts, what politics ought to look like in the South, the secret identities of superheroes, and of course, mom's channa bhatura. In 2006, a new horror icon was born. Fatigued by the endless defanged remakes and sequels of the time, lifelong horror fanatic Adam Green set out to create a new unstoppable killer very much in the mold of beloved slasher superstars Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger and most of all, Jason Voorhees. In fact, his film would not only feature such genre royalty as Robert Englund and Tony Todd but Jason himself, Kane Hodder as the films deformed giant, Victor Crowley. Green's film, set in the New Orleans swamps where an ill-fated tour boat is wrecked and its passengers are left stranded with much more to worry about than alligators, was a spot-on love letter to 80's slasher classics.  As you have probably guessed by now, that film was “Hatchet”. Filled with insane gore set pieces, hilarious dialogue and a totally game cast, the movie succeeded in creating a new franchise and has so far been followed by 3 sequels. Only one actor other than Kane Hodder has appeared in every film in the series. A scene-stealer with many of the best lines in the series, this actor has cemented himself as a fan favorite. Our guest today is Parry Shen. Parry is a busy man. He loves to work and one need only check out his IMDB profile to see he has had a rich and varied career as an actor. From a starring role in Justin Lin's critically acclaimed crime drama “Better Luck Tomorrow” to a series regular on “General Hospital”, to his many credits as a voice actor - Parry cannot be stopped. And who would want to? He's a welcome presence in anything he's in.
