It turns out that Annapolis, directed by Justin Lin, is basically the same movie as The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. It's perfect for the Oops! lap. We talk about how it feels like every movie you've ever seen, Tyrese... with hair?, and how Brian Goodman essentially plays Sean's Dad in this movie (but also the exact opposite?). We break down the movie's racism (toward all people), Jordana Brewster as an "escort," and Snickers sandwiches. We try to determine how old James Franco's character is supposed to be -- and whether or not he could have played Sean in Tokyo Drift. Joe airs a scheduling grievance with Joey, wonders how much naval prep Tyrese and Franco did for this movie, and shares the surprising plot twist that delighted him. We try to parse the trailer and why it doesn't seem to reflect the film we watched. Email us: family@cageclub.me Visit our Patreon page at patreon.com/2fast2forever. We set the scene by discussing how this research idea started, review the classic agitation presentation at his institution, and highlight evidence comparing pharmacotherapy treatment options prior to this study. Then we dive into the Trial of the Week, discussing the study design and results. What was the biggest pushback from providers or the IRB? Any unique education strategies? Would results stay the same with increased IV push administration? What would the comparator arm be if this study was replicated today? Plus, the most challenging part of this project, Justin's favorite agent, and so much more. The way you have been thinking about time and space is limited and wrong. Reject Metric and Imperial and instead adopt the Fast and Furious System, where everything is measured in terms of quarter-miles. And if you're having trouble figuring out the timeline of the Fast franchise, simply apply Justin Lin's patented Ca-Lin-Duh system. Getting into the finer details of Tokyo Drift for their final watch of the Han-led outing, the boys also wonder whether Sean is so fearless because of a devil-may-care, cowboy attitude or if he quite simply does not understand what is happening around him.All season 6 episodes available in bee-youtiful video form at TWIOAT.substack.com Hosted on Acast. Award-winning Queer Indie filmmaker Quentin Lee just released his latest feature THE LAST SUMMER OF NATHAN LEE promising to take audiences on an emotional journey. The film which explores the story of a Chinese American teenager who finds out that he has brain cancer right before he turns 18. THE LAST SUMMER OF NATHAN LEE is a compelling narrative that delves into the life of Nathan Lee played by Harrison Xu (Bloodhounds/Netflix), a Chinese American teenager on the cusp of adulthood. Just days before his 18th birthday, Nathan is confronted with the harsh reality of a brain cancer diagnosis. Faced with a limited amount of time, he makes a life-altering decision to live each day with an unmatched zeal for life while also refusing to die a virgin. Knowing that his gay best friend, Dash (Matthew Mitchell Espinosa), wants to become a filmmaker, Nathan offers himself as a documentary subject to Dash, who also happens to be in love with Nathan. Nathan and Dash decide to document as much of his remaining life as possible. Without reservation, Nathan experiments sexually and falls in love with Lorelei played by Natasha Tina Liu (Here and Now/HBO), another high school friend. As Nathan realizes he cannot reciprocate Dash's true love, he decides to marry Dash, a Dreamer Immigrant, and gifts him an American citizenship. Quentin Lee - “Growing up in the 80s, I loved teen movies from that era which unfortunately not only have no Asian Pacific Islander characters but sometimes even have racist stereotypes like Long Duk Dong from Sixteen Candles, traumatizing API teens of my generation,” said Director Quentin Lee. “Even to this day, the dearth of API teen movies has inspired me to create Last Summer of Nathan Lee that not only reflect but is made for today's generation of BIPOC teens in North America. I hope it can be a Pretty in Pink that my own son, now only 7, will grow up to watch as a teenager in the future.” Quentin Lee is the winner of the 2020 Roddenberry Foundation Impact Awards for TV creators, a member of the Producers Guild of America, Canadian Media Producers Association and Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (Directors and Producers Peer Group), Quentin Lee is a multimedia creator and has directed and produced over ten feature films and three TV series. His first feature Shopping For Fangs (co-directed with Justin Lin) premiered at Toronto International Film Festival and became a cult classic as part of the Asian American New Wave Class of 1997. As a creator, he is currently developing Rez Comedy, the first Canadian Indigenous stand-up comedy TV series. Want to watch: YouTube Meisterkhan Pod (Please Subscribe)

Director: Louis Leterrier Writers: Dan Mazeau, Justin Lin Starring: Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Charlize Theron, John Cena, Sung Kang, Runtime: 2 hour 21 minutes Synopsis: Dom Toretto and his family are targeted by the vengeful son of drug kingpin Hernan Reyes. I don't care what anyone says. The Fast & Furious movies used to be good for a bit of a streak there (5, 6 & 7). It's very clear the series took a nose dive after 7, which probably should have been the natural end of the series. The shift is clear. After Paul Walker died, the lead actor and character centered around Vin Diesel and he clearly has his own opinions on how the series should go. Justin Lin, who should be credited for saving these series, got chased off of Fast X a week into production and it shows. Fast X is a convoluted mess that doesn't make sense, has terrible action scenes and it some places forgets what story it's trying to tell because of terrible editing and scene transitions. Again, people will say it doesn't matter and the films have always been ridiculous. But the last few Fast movies have clearly been a drop off from the height of this series that actually put out some good films. Like what you hear? Subscribe so you don't miss an episode! Creating and sustaining a successful photo career is no easy feat. To help aspiring young imagemakers acquire the needed creative concepts and business skills, two New York-based organizations—ASMP NY and BKC—have teamed up to offer the innovative mentorship, education, and industry immersion program The Bridge. Open to individuals from 18- to 26-years-old, The Bridge embraces diversity and offers opportunity to underserved communities, regardless of formal photography experience. Best of all, this four-month, real world program is free to accepted students. We first learned about The Bridge during a chat with program co-founder Liam Alexander for the show ASMP-NY and the Future of Photo Trade Organizations in February 2022. Since the program's second year recently wrapped with a gallery exhibition in Brooklyn, and plans are in the works to expand The Bridge to other ASMP chapters in 2023, we wanted to learn more about this valuable initiative in advance of the next application window this spring. For this week's podcast, we're joined by Alexander, who sheds light on The Bridge program's inner workings and educational goals during the first half of the show. After a break, we speak with 2022 Bridge graduate Eli Edwards, who describes what he learned through the program, and the resulting shift in the pictures he makes, as well as in his creative point of view. To discover how to futureproof your career and learn how to apply for this free program, make sure to listen in!
