Jhn 9:4-5 "I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world." Php 1:6 "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:"
There are two gates; you must decide, the broad wide way, heading for destruction, or the narrow way, heading for eternal, blissful life. Luke 13:24 "Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able." Mat 7:13-14 "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."

We know God is in control. We know He is able to heal, but right in the middle of the messy and the painful, many of us tell God what we believe to be our own carnal truth: We don't always understand His love or His mercy in stressful times, and often that's when our faith is severely tested. Your story isn't over. God's not finished with your story just yet. No matter what. For the year of 2024, host Sue Duffield will be teaching and training women HOW to write their own faith story. This will happen at a few retreats that she'll be speaking for this year. And just because we start writing our faith story, doesn't mean life is over - in fact it's quite the opposite! Our faith story is progressing every day and with an open-ended story, we can be hopeful that God will carry you until its completion. “I am sure of this, that He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6 www.sueduffield.com
Hey, is your workplace culture such that many are “puttering around” on priorities that are secondary or even unimportant? Perhaps even your CEO is just “clocking time.” Or is your leadership team functioning as a “potter” for greatness, shaping or re-shaping the organization as a sort of malleable clay for its greatness for the long haul. And, likewise, how about your church? Join Kevin as we talk about the divergent paths of “puttering around” and “pottering for greatness!” // Download this episode's Application & Action questions and PDF transcript at whitestone.org.

Pastor Marc Sharp continues with Part 27 of the current series that is an epic journey through the New Testament Gospel of Mark, verse by verse. The book of Mark was most likely the first one written, and is generally attributed to John Mark, a close associate of Peter, and also of Paul and Barnabas. The Gospel of Mark is all about Jesus and the good news (Gospel) of the kingdom of God. Who was Jesus really, and why exactly did he come? Last week Pastor Marc preached on the feeding of the four thousand and the disciples' unbelief. In today's message, Pastor Marc explains some of the meaning behind Jesus' progressive healing of a blind man and the ensuing discussion of Jesus' identity. What does it look like to create a rhythm that goes beyond the busyness of doing all the things and helps build a Christ-centered legacy in the next generation, especially when having conversations about faith can be uncomfortable? And what's at stake if we don't? Join us to find out.

We make a detailed verse by verse study of Paul's inspired prayer for the Philippians, discussing our fellowship in the Gospel, and how God's grace enables us to persevere in faith and grow spiritually. The God, who has begun a good work in us, will surely complete it in the Day of Jesus Christ!

Pastor David Walt brings our message today to start the new year of 2022. Often, at the beginning of a new year, we think of how we can improve ourselves or do certain things better than in the past, with the focus being on us. With relevant scripture text, Pastor David reminds us that the most important thing is for us to "abide" in Christ Jesus, keeping our eyes on him as we continue to live our lives and run our race with perseverance. Pastor Marc Sharp continues the series "Songs of Ascents" with part 12. This series is looking at 15 Psalms (Psalm 120-134) designated as “Songs of Ascents”, which are God’s guidebook for right worship in the church. Today, it's Psalm 131, where we will discover the depths of what confident assurance produces in us. True believers change and mature with time, sometimes barely perceptible, yet consistently, because of the Spirit’s work. With today's message, Pastor Marc Sharp concludes the series from the New Testament book of Jude. The focus has been on Jude’s stern warning about (and descriptions of) false teachers, prophets and believers. The central theme has been Jude’s exhortation to “contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.” We can’t play fast and loose with the gospel. It must be the only genuine gospel, not a cheap counterfeit. Most of us enjoy a good mystery novel; especially one that has a plot twist. Every chapter draws us further into the story and we are sure that we know what is coming, but the author has a surprise for us. We serve an author who loves to give a good plot twist. God can provide an unexpected event that can totally turn our life around. The bible is full of stories that include plot twists: Noah, Daniel, David and Goliath, Joseph, and the entire gospel story all end much differently than expected. But what about when it is our story? What about when we do not know the next step? God knows the ending from the beginning, but we do not. What about when we have failed time and time again? What about trusting the author when it is us not David? What about when we find ourselves in the lion’s den? What do we do then? The answer is our text from Philippians: Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Jesus will finish what He started. Our plot twist is just beyond the challenge we might be facing right now. Today might not be our best day, but God is declaring this is not how the story ends. The author of our faith has a flourishing finish in store for us. God is getting ready to open doors that we thought could not be opened. God is not finished writing the story. Are we willing to let God interrupt our story?

Child of the King Oh my soul, you can stop hiding. He knows where you are; he’ll meet you in all your shame. Oh my soul, you can stop striving. Lift up your eyes; his blood is enough to save. [Chorus] Oh be still, oh my soul, be still. You are perfectly loved; you are perfectly healed. ©2018 Joe Deegan. Words and Music by Joe Deegan. Oh believe, oh my soul, believe. You’re no longer an orphan; you’re a child of the King. Oh my soul, you can stop searching; The love that you seek is here in your Father’s smile. Oh my soul, you can let down your guard. You don’t have to impress; he’s already made you his child. [Chorus] Oh my soul, hold fast to this truth: There’s no power on earth That can make him stop loving you, He’ll never stop loving you. [Chorus] [Tag] You’re a child of the King. You’re a child of the King.
