C'est sa mère en particulier qui mène la danse, cette femme excentrique aux multiples prénoms, que son père aime d'un amour fou, mais dont l'originalité recèle une vérité plus tragique... Welcome to Episode 4 of Scripted by Paradox House... This week we spend some quality time with award-winning writer, Rebecca Lenkiewicz. Listen in as Daisy goes deeper into the process of writing for film, tv and theatre where golden knowledge lies. You're in for a treat. Rebecca Lenkiewicz is a British playwright and screenwriter. She is best known as the author of Her Naked Skin (2008), which was the first original play written by a living female playwright to be performed on the Olivier stage of the Royal National Theatre. Several of Rebecca's plays have been published individually, and in 2013 Faber & Faber published a collection. Rebecca wrote on Secret Diary of a Call Girl for television. She co-wrote the Polish-language film Ida (2013) with Paweł Pawlikowski, its director. The film is set in Poland in the 1960s and is the story of what happens when a novitiate nun first learns that she is an orphan of Jewish parenthood. The first version of the screenplay was written in English by Lenkiewicz and Pawlikowski, when it had the working title Sister of Mercy. Pawlikowski then translated the screenplay into Polish and revised it. The screenplay for Ida won the European Screenwriter category at the 27th European Film Awards in 2014,[29] and the Oscar for Best Foreign Film at the ceremony on 22 February 2015. She co-wrote, with director Sebastian Leilo, the script for the adaptation of Disobedience in 2017. She and collaborators Wash Westmoreland and Richard Glatzer wrote the screenplay for Colette in 2018. More recently for TV, Rebecca was the lead writer for Steve McQueen's hard-hitting series, Small Axe (2020), which is based on the real-life experiences of London's West Indian community and is set between 1969 and 1982. Enjoy!

Filmmakers Vohn Regensburger, Wash Westmoreland, Richard Glatzer, and Chris Bruno talk about their new movies: A Remarkable Life and The Last of Robin Hood. Regensburger is the writer/director of the first film, which stars Bruno, who also helped with the writing and served as one of the producers. Glatzer and Westmoreland are the writers/directors of the second offering to be discussed. Film critic Mack Bates will co-host. A Remarkable Life tells the story of a man who finds his life falling apart and is forced to examine his identity, his manhood and his sense of self. Lenny (played by Bruno) faces loss of his job, a son with Asperger's Syndrome, and a wife who's fallen in love with the son's female doctor. It's a highly entertaining film - but one that gives us a lot to think about. Director Regensburger also composed the impressive music score, just as he did for his first film, Last of the Romantics. The Last of Robin Hood follows Errol Flynn's scandalous affair with a star-struck teenage girl. Kevin Kline plays Flynn in his later years -- not the heartthrob from The Adventures of Robin Hood. Dakota Fanning and Susan Sarandon play the young girl and her mother who enables the affair, respectively. This fascinating film deals with fame and the high price it can exact. Glatzer and Westmoreland have also written and directed Quinceanera, Pedro, The Fluffer and Grief.
Film critic Mack Bates and host Betty Jo Tucker review two new Susan Sarandon films -- The Last of Robin Hood and The Calling. Scott Abramovitch, who wrote the screenplay for The Calling, plans to join the discussion, and Richard Glatzer, director/writer of The Last of Robin Hood, has been invited to call in. The Last of Robin Hood follows Errol Flynn's scandalous affair with a star-struck teenager during the late 1950s. Cast members include Kevin Kline, Dakota Fanning and Susan Sarandon. This intriguing movie deals with the desire for fame and the high price it exacts. Kline plays Flynn; Fanning portrays the somewhat naive teen; and Sarandon is her fame-obsessed mother. In The Calling, a mysterious and suspenseful thriller, Sarandon portrays a world-weary detective trying to solve a series of gruesome murders. With these two very different roles, this talented Oscar-winning actress again proves her versatility. An avid Sarandon fan, Mack Bates conducted an in-depth interview with Sarandon a few years ago for The Leader, a University of Wisconsin student newspaper. He also contributed to Tucker's book about Sarandon (Susan Sarandon: A True Maverick) and now writes for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. He also serves as a staff blogger for Milwaukee Magazine's official film blog.
