We think we have found the most Italian Australian person in Australia and he joined us our guest in this episode! After a couple of failed attempts, the Malocchio finally lifted and we were able to have this chat. Daniel Siani is based Melbourne, we always enjoy getting a perspective from a different part of the country. Daniel was born in Australia to Italian immigrants, when he was a baby they made the decision to move back to Italy where they stayed until moving back again to Australia when he was 16. Since then he has continued to go back and forth between Italy and Australia. These experiences have given Daniel a unique perspective on what it means to be 'Italian Australian'. We chatted about some of the differences between Italy and Australia and also the differences in the Italian immigrants who came to Australia in the post war years compared with those who have come in the recent years.

Brenden Schaeffer discusses the Cardinals loss on Sunday night baseball to the Cubs as they eventually dropped 3 of 4 on the long weekend at Wrigley. After a hot couple of games against the Rangers, the offense simply cratered this weekend. And the Cardinals also lost Michael Siani to an oblique injury, and the latest update on his status isn't too encouraging. Brenden Schaeffer discusses the Cardinals 6-0 win over the Nationals in a live stream on July 8, 2024. This is the audio podcast version of the stream, which includes an actual ending since the stream version randomly died in the middle. We talked a lot of Michael Siani's emergence and whether he has staying power even after Tommy Edman's eventual return. We touched on Mikolas' really strong outing under circumstances that I may have expected him to struggle with. Goldy homered, good to see. Burleson continues to be a force. What should the lineup look like now and into the future after IL guys are back? And what should Mozeliak be angling to do ahead of the trade deadline? Is Jordan Walker untouchable, or not anymore? So much discussed in this stream. Follow this podcast feed for Cardinals content, daily, all season long.

Brenden Schaeffer breaks down the Cardinals 1-0 win over the Reds from Friday, June 28, 2024. Brendan Donovan, walk-off catch?! Unbelievable game from BFD in left field. Michael Siani got the better of Elly De La Cruz. The pair were former teammates in the Cincy org, so Siani knew what to do when Elly ranged further into CF than he had any business being on the third-inning play that ended up leading to the only run of the night at Busch Stadium. Brenden Schaeffer discusses the Cardinals 6-3 win over the Orioles on Monday, May 20, 2024 at Busch Stadium. 'The Michael Siani Game', as future generations will come to know of it, was a spectacle for the St. Louis outfielder who launched his first ever big-league home run and compiled four RBIs on the night. Sonny Gray had a no hitter going through five, but ended up asking for Oli Marmol to pull him from the start before completing the top of the sixth. Plenty of context explaining that decision and the other moves made by the Cardinals manager. If you ask me, Oli had an impeccable night of managing this bullpen and the St. Louis pitching staff.
