‘The Full Go' returns as Jason starts the pod by asking producer Kyle about the road trip and swapping Cleveland travel stories. Then he gets into Lance Lynn's comments about the White Sox, the treacherous on-field product and why it's important to listen to what ex-players have to say about former teams. Next, Jason digs into Caleb Williams's comments to Esquire magazine. He talks about how the Bears mismanaged Williams's rookie season and why it's alarming that the front office didn't recognize a switch needed to happen sooner. To wrap, Jason gets into the Bulls' recent success and why it best exemplifies Coby White's growth. He talks about how White is a player you want to build with because of his leadership qualities and how he's the right leader for this Bulls team. Sure, the Dodgers might have the best player of his generation and two other Japanese fireballers, but there's no dispute that the Cubs' Japanese players returning home to play in next week's games are more fun. Seiya's hitting baseballs with a samurai sword, Shōta's making fun of his manager's batting stance. That has to be worth something, right? Tom Loxas is on hand to discuss this, why the Cubs are bothering with Lance Lynn, PCA's emergence, what do the Cubs see in Brad Keller, and the future of Tater Workman. Plus, the Bears moves make a lot more sense than we're used to. All that, and more

The Cardinals begin their offseason cuts by declining club options on Lance Lynn and Kyle Gibson. Will this move provide them more flexibility to add to their rotation going forward? Does this mean future cuts to the position player core such as Nolan Arenado and Willson Contreras? Are Sonny Gray and Ryan Helsley as good as gone? The calendar (if not the weather) has flipped to November and another baseball season is fully behind us with the crowning of a new World Series Champion. Daniel (@C70) and Allen (@amedlock1) spend a little time on the Series before diving into the Cardinals news of the week, the declining of options. Lance Lynn, Kyle Gibson, and Keynan Middleton all enter the free agent market. Is that a surprise? Does it tell us anything? What are we to make, if anything, from the waiver claim of Roddery Munoz from the Marlins? Is there any chance the Cards offer Paul Goldschmidt the qualifying offer? The savings amounts to around $25 million. You could make a case that the players weren't really going to be worth that. The annoying part is going to be when the Cardinals don't really spend any money to replace the production as the payroll heads into a spiral this winter. Let's talk it over as the off-season is officially underway. Follow this podcast feed for Cardinals coverage all winter!
The Cardinals have concluded their 2024 season at home and fans get to say goodbye to a few staple players in the organization. But, should they bring anyone back for the 2025 season? Both Paul Goldschmidt and Matt Carpenter plan to play next year, but should they return for another season? How about other players such as Lance Lynn and Kyle Gibson, who the Cardinals have team options for? Will they trade Ryan Helsley, Miles Mikolas, or Steven Matz? How about the young bats? Will the team move on from Nootbaar, Gorman, or Donovan this year? McGreevy sailed through seven innings to make a great first impression at the big-league level. Lance Lynn went on the IL, shuffling rotation plans. And Tommy Pham not only continued to hit the cover off the ball, but has seemingly had his hard-nosed and fundamental style of baseball already permeate through the rest of the team. Brenden Schaeffer breaks down one of the games of the year as the Cardinals beat the Rangers 8-1 at Busch Stadium on Tuesday, trade deadline day, with newcomer and old friend Tommy Pham calling GAME in the fifth inning as he delivered a pinch-hit grand slam in front of a raucous crowd. Pham showed exactly why the Cardinals needed him as Oli Marmol now has a fighting chance to do some interesting managerial moves. A RH bat like Pham coming off the bench is a luxury the Cardinals haven't had in a hot minute. Lance Lynn pitched as well as he could tonight despite some tricky circumstances. We'll see the debut of Michael McGreevy on Wednesday, apparently! And the Dylan Carlson saga with the Cardinals has mercifully come to an end. James Wood went deep for the first time in his MLB career and the Nats crushed the Cardinals 14-6 on a humid Saturday afternoon. Mark & Al begin with Wood, who drove in five runs in the victory as the team's third hitter. Wood hit a 3-run homer in the bottom of the 2nd to put the Nationals up 7-0. (12:00) The offense clobbered Lance Lynn as they gathered 11 hits off of him in less than three innings of work. Luis Garcia Jr. continued his recent surge with a trio of hits and Keibert Ruiz was a triple shy of the cycle. (17:00) Trey Lipscomb is back in Washington after Nick Senzel was "DFA'd".
