We begin this show by announcing some new tweaks coming to our weekly release, now that The Bad Batch's first season is over and the next major show isn't due until December. We then give a small recap on the three comics that came out this week, which were all excellent, and you can find our review for those on YouTube and TikTok. We finish by discussing our first impressions of the Disney Gallery The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 2 that features Mark Hamill's cameo as Luke Skywalker in the season two finale, and how it came together. It's a short, but sweet episode, so go check it out!
In episode 51 of The Force Geeks: A Star Wars Podcast, Nate and Jake are once again joined by DailySuperHero.com Founder Daniel Wolf as they break down the action from The Mandalorian Chapter 16: "The Rescue." The Geeks analyze all the Easter eggs and the picky HUGE reveals. ***This is a spoiler special, so be warned if you haven't watched the episode yet. And don't read any further than this if you haven't seen it yet... because, spoilers!*** The guys discuss that major event of Luke Skywalker's triumphant return, the similarities Luke possesses when compared to his father Anakin/Darth Vader, the CGI technique used, Mark Hamill's big secret, as well as that touching moment with Mando lets Grogu see his face. The Geeks also examine the impact of what it means for Mando now that he has the Dark Saber and the conflict that sets up for the next Season with Katee Sackhoff's Bo-Katan Kryze. Oh, and before we forget... How about that new Boba Fett series that was teased in the post-credits scene?!Plus, the Geeks take a deep dive on the upcoming Disney+ animated series The Bad Batch, as they break down each of the titles recently announced. Each week the Geeks will put one of the newly announced projects under the microscope. And The Force Geeks are giving away an animatronic Grogu. Get your own version of "The Child" on us. The details are coming soon on the new The Force Geeks - A Star Wars Podcast Listener group on Facebook and on The Force Geeks Facebook Page. Check it all out in this week’s episode of The Force Geeks!

We return with our first episode of the New Year! Kicking off Geek Out James gives a glowing review of The Powder Mage Trilogy by Brian McClellan. He then dives into everything Star Wars related he's experienced in the past couple of months: from playing Jedi:Fallen Order to watching The Rise of Skywalker & The Mandalorian. Next Bryan describes a reality-bending campaign of D&D he's been taking part in and how much he's enjoyed Magic the Gathering: Arena. Mike shares how he's begun keeping a journal for when he reads historical fencing manuals and how much his family has enjoyed the board games Ex Libris and the TIME Stories expansion Lumen Fidei. The guys then discuss the final film of the Animated Film Club, the 2018 modern hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse!
The dead speak! This is it! For all the marbles! A bunch of movies, TV shows, toys, comic books, spinoffs and billions of dollars later, the final chapter of the Skywalker saga is here in Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. Our hot takes will be the spark that ignites the fire that will burn down the First Order. Then, The Mandalorian TV show is the first major offering on the Disney+ streaming platform. What do Leia, lightsabers, masks, and baby Yoda have in common? Star Wars, of course, but they're also elements of the sci-fi saga that carry Christian implications.

Love it or hate it, it's a very interesting time to be a Star Wars fan. With both a new movie and a television series recently released, there's plenty to talk about. So we did; getting together with our usual hive of scum and villainy to discuss The Rise of Skywalker AND The Mandalorian. Special Guest, Emily Parker from Austin City Limits Radio returns from the other side of the Force to help our crew of Nerf Herders rant about everything that went right (and wrong) with the latest two entries into the Star Wars universe. Not to mention, the perils of choosing the perfect surname. There are no death fake-outs here, just pure, unadulterated nerd-speak that can ultimately be summed up with three simple words...
In an alcohol fuelled celebration of the second anniversary of The Film ‘89 Podcast, Neil and Skye ring in a new year in style as they welcome back a long lost friend and former co-host, Jim Cottle. This slightly inebriated trio go back to that galaxy far, far away to bring you their in-depth and very much spoiler-filled verdict on not just one but two new Star Wars properties. First up is Episode 9 of the main Star Wars saga, The Rise of Skywalker. Will this third and final film in the sequel trilogy make up for the guys' disappointment at recent films in the saga or will it cause them to give in to anger and turn to the dark side? They'll also be reviewing the first season of Disney's new flagship Star Wars television show, The Mandalorian for their new Disney+ streaming service.Index: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker - 0:02:39The Mandalorian - 1:18:38

The Rise of Skywalker is here, and it’s wild. We have mixed opinions on the final (?) installment of the main Star Wars saga, with some surprising alliances. Saf and Paul enjoyed it, while Megan has criticisms and questions. We cover the twists and surprises in The Rise of Skywalker, the character development and script, and what it might mean for the future of Star Wars. Before that, we take a jaunt into tie-in material with The Mandalorian. At the time of recording episode 7 was the most recent episode, so we cover episodes 4 through 7. Everyone is enjoying them, but Saf has some suggestions for viewing order. Paul has been reading The Rise of Kylo Ren, and Megan takes a look (and maybe read the whole issue in the course of recording this podcast). Things have been a bit quiet in the Star Wars books realm, but Megan has read Force Collector and has a brief review. It’s a fun book, but what are its implications about the First Order? Like The Rise of Skywalker, they’re a bit weird. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
