Today, we're sharing a special episode from our friends at the chart-topping a16z Podcast. In this conversation, a16z co-founders Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz dive deep into the REAL story behind the creation of Netscape—the web browser co-created by Marc that revolutionized the internet and changed the world. As Ben notes at the top, until today, this story has never been fully told either in its entirety or accurately. The two discuss Marc's early life and how it shaped his journey into technology, the pivotal moments at the University of Illinois that led to the development of Mosaic (a renegade browser that Marc developed as an undergrad), and the fierce competition and legal battles that ensued as Netscape rose to prominence. Ben and Marc also reflect on the lessons learned that still resonate in today's tech landscape (especially with AI). Did you know that Disney greenlit, began production on, and then suddenly scrapped a feature-length Boba Fett film? And directly after that, they started work on a new TV show about a very familiar-looking armor-clad bounty hunter making his way in a galaxy far far away, they called it The Mandalorian. Or... was it The Bobalorian? Today we embark on an epic quest to figure out what Disney has done to Boba Fett and why they have done it. And along the way we'll learn about everyone's favorite silent background-characters, Dengar Roth and Rothgar Deng! Or are they in fact one and the same?? Do you like what we do? Terugblik De genoemde game is Disco Elysium.

To stary, dobry Ted Lasso. - mówi w najnowszym odcinku podcastu "O serialach" Piotr Markiewicz. Seriale i filmy, o których rozmawiamy: (1:00) - "Willow" (Disney +) (17:45) - "Death Note" (18:45) - "Ted Lasso" (Apple TV+) (22:35) - "A Spy Among Friends" (HBO MAX) (27:00) - "Lina" (Canal+) (29:30) - "Rozterki Fleishmana" (Disney+) (33:45) - "Pewnego razu na krajowej jedynce" (NETFLIX) (36:36) - "The Mandalorian" (Disney+) (42:40) - "Gwiezdne Wojny: Parszywa Zgraja" (Disney +) (44:55) - "Servant" (Apple TV+) (47:10) - "Połączeni przeszłością" (Apple TV+) (48:40) - "Skandal w Karolinie Południowej: Kto zabił Paula i Maggie Murdaugh" (NETFLIX)
The BeWBs are back and chattier than ever, thanks to our special guest Hannah and the Gift to thirstkind that is Pedro Pascal! During our extended hiatus Meg fell down a Pedro Pascal rabbit hole, eventually piquing Carla's interest in The Mandalorian (Disney +, 2019 - present), The Last Of Us (HBO Max, 2023), and just enough episodes of Game Of Thrones (HBO Max, 2011 -2019) to watch his character in it.Along with Hannah, Meg and Carla face the challenge of being a normal amount of enthusiastic about Din Djarin, Joel Miller, and Oberyn Martell. On this week's episode of London Calling, Toby and James start by talking about James' health (he has a cold), then segue into discussing what James says is the best hunting experience of his life. Toby then tells James about his week (hangover and all), which included appearing on Jacob Rees-Mogg's debut show on GBNews and attending the third anniversary party of the Free Speech Union. They then get on to the past week's big story - the Lockdown Files - the more than 100,000 WhatsApp messages belonging to former Health Secretary Matt Hancock that were leaked to the Telegraph by the journalist Isabel Oakeshott. It inevitably leads to a heated argument about whether they prove Toby right that the past three years have just been one almighty cock-up, or corroborate James' suspicions that the lockdowns and the vaccine rollout are part of some diabolical conspiracy. In Culture Corner, they discuss the season 3 opener of The Mandalorian (Disney+), Drive to Survive, Fleischman is in Trouble (Disney+ in the UK, Hulu in the US) and The Playlist (Netflix) which James highly recommends. Opening sound this week is Andrew Pierce of The Daily Mail and Kevin Maguire of The Daily Mirror discussing the Lockdown Files on Good Morning Britain (ITV). Learn more about your ad choices. - Lata 80 wracają do seriali. Muzycznie, stylistycznie i ubraniowo. This episode, we're tackling a fan favourite. Coming in at the 7th best Doctor Who serial of all time in Doctor Who Magazine's 2009 Mighty 200 Poll and at 8th in their 2013 50th Anniversary Poll, it's safe to say that Pyramids of Mars has an excellent reputation… but will the Watchers agree? Along the way, Anthony talks of childhood head-canon, Julie gets increasingly concerned with the number of shoulder-rubs-of-death™, Don admires Marcus' cheekbones, and Reilly gets excited about the return of the country yokel trope. The entire team try to figure out how a female character could potentially fit into the story. "Light & Magic" to sześcioodcinkowy dokument na Disney + o firmie Industrial Light & Magic, którą założył George Lucas. Ten serial pokazuje historię efektów specjalnych w filmach i ludzi, którzy tworzyli kino. To świetnie opowiedziana historia kina. - podsumowuje Piotr Markiewicz. To powrót w dobrym stylu i z dobrą zabawą. Oglądając "Stranger Things" miałam dużo "funu". - podsumowuje. This week TV addicts Schmee and Riker review the pilot of The Mandalorian, "Chapter 1: The Mandalorian" (Disney+). We discuss how well it did in defining the genre/conventions of the show, introducing its characters, how well it informed the series plot, and how well it hooked us to watch more! "Bad Guy," as we keep referring to one of the characters, was listed in iMDB credits as "The Client," who was played by Werner Herzog. Close enough?? Follow us and let us know what you think! Welcome to Episode 357. This week we are joined this week by good friend of the podcast and host of Smorgasborg: A Star Trek Universe Podcast, Neil Thollander. Smorgasborg is a show about the greater Star Trek Universe, as well as a recap show about whichever series is currently running. You can find Smorgasborg on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, pretty much everywhere you find podcasts. This episode we are shaking things up a bit. We go over the winners of the Jiu Jitsu digital movie codes but instead of jumping into Good Pop Bad Pop this week we start with what I feel are the big topics of discussion. Why bury them in the desert with that one mistake you made in Las Vegas? It wasn’t your fault. Accidents happen. But it will haunt you forever and we are onto you. You can’t run from your past. This week we talk about the supposed Disney+ Leak. There’s a commercial that has been floating around that looks legit and gives details about MCU Disney+ series release dates, a Black Widow Disney+ announcement and a new section on Disney+ simply titled Disney 18+. You can watch that very video HERE https://youtu.be/WZmfxD9StdM We’ve got some “rumors” as well for Thor: Love and Thunder as well as “possible leaks” from Doctor Strange: In The Multiverse of Madness. Then we dive into the latest chapter of The Mandalorian with a Chapter 13 “The Jedi” discussion. This is SPOILER FILLED! We talk about the episode, our thoughts, what we liked and didn’t like and we have tons of speculation about what’s to come. We finish the episode with Good Pop Bad Pop this week. You heard me. There’s no News or DC News this week. When Mike Tyson fights Roy Jones Jr. you end the podcast early. Anyway, in Good Pop Bad Pop for movies this week Brian talks about 2 new movies on VOD. The first is The Donut King about Cambodian refugee Ted Ngoy who built a multi-million dollar empire by baking America’s favorite pastry — the doughnut. Then Brian talks about the MMA drama Embattled starring Stephen Dorff. Brian and Neil discuss the new Amazon Studios film Uncle Frank starring Paul Bettany and Sophia Lillis. They also talk about the new Ron Howard film Hillbilly Elegy starring Amy Adams and Glenn Close. We give our thoughts on the new holiday film Happiest Season on Hulu. And we talk about The Mystery of D.B. Cooper on HBO. Brian and Jake talk about the documentary Belushi on Showtime. Using previously unheard audio-tapes recorded shortly after John Belushi’s death, director R.J. Cutler’s documentary examines the too-short life of once-in-a-generation talent who captured the hearts and funny bones of devoted audiences. And we all discuss the new Melissa McCarthy HBO Max original movie Superintelligence. In Television we talk about the new Saved by the Bell revival show on Peacock and The Flight Attendant starring Kaley Cuoco on HBO Max. Subscribe to Smorgasborg: A Star Trek Universe Podcast with Neil and Steven!!!
