I had a blast rambling with my Frank. We chat about comedy and the benefits meeting like minded people through the conduit of the great Steven Brody Stevens.
As we look towards 2020, we wanted to remember one of the great friends that The Church Family lost in 2019, Mr. Steven Brody Stevens. Brody and Joey met in Seattle when they were both doing open mic comedy, and were friends for more than 20 years. Brody is a favorite on the show, and this is a re-release of Brody's last visit to The Church. Happy New Year from Joey and Lee, we love you and cant wait for an even better year in 2020. In this episode Tom and Steph talk all things Brody Stevens. Brody passed away last month and really left a hole in our comedy world. He was such a fixture on the comedy scene here in LA as well as on social media. Tom talks about first meeting and competing against Brody in stand up way back in 2000 and their encounters over the years. Steph talks about her and a friend going to see Brody in front of an audience of six people and the impression he left. The club, Steph and I were performing at when we heard the news about Brody, was the same club Brody would be performing at the next week. This episode was tough, but I'm glad we did it because I think it's important more people know about Brody. Also, check out his half hour special on Comedy Central - available on YouTube. Brody is gone, but will never be forgotten. Always remember PUSH! BELIEVE! and ENJOY IT! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/imarescue/support

This is me remembering Brody Stevens +a re-release of an episode from 9/5/18 W/ Brody Stevens. I imagine his name will continue to come up throughout the following weeks w/ other comedians on this podcast. Brody Stevens is every comedian's favorite comedian. He was a staple at the comedy store, he loved mentoring young comics and we had a very special relationship since we were both 818, he was so special to me. He was so special to everyone who ever met him. He was the brightest light. the most sensitive and sweetest soul. Brody Stevens was one of the best people I've ever had the privilege of knowing. He gave us the tools to move forward... We have to push and believe and practice positivity. Brody taught me that there's truly nothing more important than remembering that every living thing is connected. WATCH HIS SPECIAL ON AMAZON "LIVE FROM THE MAIN ROOM" - ON AMAZON! This episode welcomes fellow stand up comedian, Johnny See. He is an Indiana guy and we've been doing shows together for a almost 2 years now. He is a father and husband, so he gives me some great marriage advice. Johnny opens up about his battle with depression and his brush with death by a near suicide attempt. This episode was recorded a few weeks ago, but it is being released a few days after the apparent suicide death of comedian, Steven Brody Stevens. We hope this inspires anyone out there dealing with depression to speak up and try to find something to hang on to. Mental illness and depression shouldn't have to be a dirty secret.

Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville, Justice League) is this week's guest on Decently Funny and we jump right into a very serious topic, manscaping. Michael played Lex Luthor on Smallville so he had to shave his head everyday for a while, but Michael, Nuzzy & Guy all discuss the naughty areas that they shave. We also talked about Judaism, broadway shows, dating, childhood, and the best way to accurately throw a Garvin. Michael nails a number of celebrity impressions throughout the show and he also leaves us with terrific advice on our upcoming Henry Winkler interview. This week we play an exciting game of "Play it Forward" where Michael Rosenbaum has to match wits with last week's Decently Funny guest: comedian/actor Steven Brody Stevens. Back for a 3rd time, Steven Brody Stevens sits in on this brand spankin' new episode of Decently Funny. Stevens discusses his high level of anxiety, smoking pot, getting defensive, being 10% gay, twitter, a recent eyebrow over-plucking incident, what his definition of "pushing it to the limit" is and of course what it's like to be the star of his very own Comedy Central Show "Brody Stevens: Enjoy It". Guy admits that he hasn't done stand up comedy because he's afraid to get booed off stage and Nuzzy talks about getting the rectal thermometer, and his "friendship" with a member of The New York Yankees. We know 2 hours is a long time, but trust us, stick with it and we promise you will not be disappointed. And as always, we play an exciting game of "Play it Forward" where Steven Brody Stevens has to match wits with last week's Decently Funny guest: "Cindy Brady" Susan Olsen. Steven Brody Stevens stopped by Skeptic Tank Studios (my apartment) to share the details of his 17 day stay in the psyche ward at UCLA. It took us, like, 30 minutes to get into the topic, but eventually we did. We diverged a lot into a really cool discussion about perspective on life and how you can fall into a negative and self sabotaging way of thinking about things.
With Who Charted? safely in its second year, we couldn't go much longer without an appearance from Steven Brody Stevens! Will Brody earn enough comedy credits during the episode to warrant a fourth return? You'll just have to listen as he joins Ku Ku and Wie Wie for a look at The iTunes UK Chart, the Weekend Box Office Chart, and a return of Hermes the Chart Goose!
