Studio 666 - "Finish It & It Begins!"This week we cover the Foo Fighters horror comedy, STUDIO 666 (2022). The band plays themselves literally and figuratively in this Faustian tale of a band chasing success and making a deal with the Devil to continue to succeed. The story is by Dave Grohl who was clearly inspired by his friend John Carpenter. This movie goes hard rockin' all the way from the beginning to the end!We hope you enjoy shredding into this fresh episode!Support the show

After a "Parent's Night Out" at gymnastics, Brandon is curious what Steve's favorite cuisines are when he has a date night, so we talk about that for a bit. The answers, may surprise you. Studio 666: Legendary rock band, The Foo Fighters rent an AirBNB to record what will surely be a legendary tenth album. Unfortunately, as legend has it, the house is also the site of a gruesome murder committed years ago by a not-as-legendary frontman for the fictional band, Dream Widow. The problem is, the house is a spiritual nexus through which the Devil attempts to enter our world. Can Dave and the rest of the band fight off these demonic foos? We shall see. Studio 666 final grade: Steve: "Right there" on the edge of being really good. Fun concept. Scooby Doo charm. Foo Fighters fans will obviously find it to be fantastic. 3.76/5.0 Brandon: IRL, someone must have passed around some cocaine and gave someone, who possess more dollars than sense, a crazy idea. Surprisingly, it turned out pretty well. It's just too long. 3.68/5.0 Cocktail of the Week: The Foo Fighters' Fizz 1 1/2 oz vodka 3/4 oz Elderflower Liqueur 1/2 oz Fresh-Squeezed Lemon Juice Club Soda Combine all non-fizzy ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Shake to chill and combine, then strain into a Collins glass over ice. Top with club soda. Garnish with skewered lemon boat and some fresh berries. Cocktail Grade: Would be a good summertime refresher. Light and crisp, like a gin fizz should be. 4.6/5.0 ------------------ Contact us with feedback or cocktail/movie recommendations to: boozeandbmovies@gmail.com X: @boozeandbmovies Instagram: @boozeandbmovies Threads: @boozeandbmovies www.facebook.com/boozeandbmovies

Happy birthday Jacki! This week the ghouls are joined by the always lovely, hilarious, and amazing influencer Elizabeth Sagewood as they venture to LA and visit Studio 666. The ghouls and Liz talk Foo Fighters, book recs relating to music and horror, and the hilarity which is Studio 666. Can the Foo Fighters pull of a horror comedy (the hardest sub-genre out there)? Will this film pass the Bechdel test? Will they survive? How often will Marissa bust out into song? Will they run out of ranch dressing? So let's do a Pearl Jam High Five, say YES to Dave Grohl, and head over to Studio 666. Since exploding onto the scene, the Foo Fighters have found themselves everywhere. Grammy awards, playing Wembley Stadium, headlining festivals, their music played everywhere…they have done it all. So, what better way to celebrate than with an over 90 minute blood and guts, over the top horror film? Excessive? Maybe…but that's rock and roll, and in the case of Studio 666, it's not that bad. www.notthatbadcast.com Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/notthatbadcast Social Media - @notthatbadcast (X, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, Spoutible) Learn more about your ad choices. Andy Williams and Sean Wilson from Frame to Frame podcast return to Flixwatcher to review Andy's choice Studio 666. Studio 666 (2022) is based on a story by Dave Grohl and directed by BJ McDonnell. It is the first non-documentary film to feature the Foo Fighters. In this entirely fictional film, the Foo Fighters are suffering from a creative block. To get the new album made, studio execs send the Foos to a haunted mansion where Dave Grohl unleashes a demon and the rest of the band are dispatched in gruesome ways. Studio 666 is an ill advised vanity project and could have been a 10 minute short and saved everyone from the embarrassment of being in a horror comedy that is neither particularly scary nor funny. To say it is for hardcore fans only comes with an advisory that it is quite slog. Unsurprisingly, Studio 666 didn't score very highly for recommendability - or any of the other Flixwatcher categories. It doesn't even feature a new song from the Foo Fighters! Helped by some generous scoring by Andy, Studio 666 scores 3.10 overall. Oh, man... The Foo Fighters made a horror movie! You know, it's times like these you really hope they gave us the best of them and really learned to fly. Anybody else notice how much that guy from the Foo Fighters looks like the drummer from Nirvana?
Welcome to this weeks episode. Which has Jim presenting us with a golden opportunity (or possibly a magically phallic monarch), Elton has rubber pants (maybe), Darren spends a whole week in the cinema watching three films back to back, while Lee Helldives, screams and also acts as hotline for a lovecraftian home insurance company. Then after some feedback regarding Ben Affleck in The Accountant and a misunderstanding of what film we reviewed last week, we move on to this weeks movie. Is it a comedy-horror? a horror-comedy? Splatstick or a a rockband movie like The Monkies made back in the 60s? Michael Dallatorre (Brightburn, Guardians of the Galaxy: Inferno, Studio 666) shares about their recent work on the Amazon film Emergency.
Today's show is a discussion and review of the Foo Fighters feature film debut in the comedy horror STUDIO 666.*Unlike our other podcasts, this one contains explicit material.Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl made no pretense about the film not being Oscar Worthy and we really got that it was just a fun project between friends. It was an idea thought up by the band while recording some songs in the same house featured in the film. That idea became a fun conversation that grew beyond the band. Before they knew it, Roswell Films and Therapy Studios was on board, BJ McDonnell set to direct, a full script that one of the band members never read, a budget, table reads, and the sudden realization that the Foo Fighters were making a feature film.If you've ever seen Foo Fighters music videos, you'd already know that they usually have some sort of themed story. Their videos are actually enjoyable and sometimes comical, especially as old men in Run, as passengers and flight crew in Learn To Fly, and the more serious almost political statement in The Pretender. It's not a far stretch for this band to make the leap into a comedy horror feature film and actually probably long overdue. In this show, we do more than a movie review by delving into the lives of the cast and crew, fan theories, trivia, scene breakdowns, and anything related to the film itself. Needless to say, our shows are a little longer than your average movie review show, but we can assure you that our shows are jam packed with entertaining and interesting discussions. If that sounds like your sort of bag, hang out with Kenny and Del as they get into Studio 666. The Give Me Five Podcast: An Uncultured Look at Pop Culture and Nostalgia
It wasn't supposed to be a music episode but its about as close to one as we've had in awhile. We talk about the new Metallica album 72 seasons. Metallica had a huge marketing campaign and push for this new album. Is it just capitalism or is the album a return to their ferocious metal past? The Foo Fighter's Studio 666 is a horror movie about the band holing up in a haunted mansion to record their 10th album. Demon possesion ensues and members of the band are dispatched in horrific ways. It came out over a year ago, but with the death of Taylor Hawkins Greg hesitated to review it. Chupa sold itself as a kid friendly ET-esque film about a baby chupacabra, does the actual film follow through. The Mandalorian season 3 is over and we discuss the major events and review the season as a whole. Finally Omar checks out Mrs Davis, an eclectic AI based show invovling nuns, the holy grail and the always delightful Margo Martindale. The question of the week is about music. On this episode of Spookaholics, we discuss the 2022 Slasher Comedy film, Studio 666. Katie and Sam are joined by both Vijal and Steve as they discuss the stares of this film, the Foo Fighters band. These friends drink Harmony by Boyz to Men white wine, discuss references to other horror films present in the film, and just the general insanity of this silly slasher.
Rock is dead. In a sea of manufactured corporate pop, only a rare few rock bands are still around making music. And one of the greatest is the Foo Fighters. Owen & Brando meet up with Spencer Nipples to talk about how the Foo Fighters have been around for over three decades and they've never stopped performing and making some of the greatest music ever created. And then they made a movie - Studio 666. What makes Foo Fighters so great? What makes the movie so wonderfully terrible and funny? STUDIO 666 MOVIE REVIEW Are you a fan of the Foo Fighters? Do you like crazy, over-the-top gore? Do you at least ironically like Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park? Today we get a preview for a BONUS episode only available for supporters! April 2022 will be a monumental month for supporters- I'm cranking out FOUR bonus episodes (to add to the 100+ that are already out there!).Today's show we'll walk through Dave Grohl's autobiography "Storyteller" as we reveal MULTIPLE instances of him channeling possible demonic spirits, witchcraft rituals, and possession. The theory I'll be floating is that Studio 666 is based off of REAL events. Seriously. We'll talk about the symbolism behind his 606 obsession and manifesting musical abilities in exchange for his soul ("...Or maybe I sold my soul for rock and roll?"
We're not sure who asked for it but we break down the Foo Fighters' new horror film anyway.

Ever want to see the Foo Fighters in a horror movie? To bad you're getting one anyway. (1:59) - Intro(4:45) - Trailer(7:41) - Synopsis(8:52) - Review(21:04) - Spoilers(53:01) - Make It Better Artwork by Dustin Goebel @dgoebel on Insta Synopsis Studio 666, starring the Foo Fighters, tells the story of the band recording it's 10th album in a haunted mansion. Decades earlier the mansion was the site of an infamous rock band murder suicide. Sloooooooowly as the plot unfolds, it's revealed that there is a connection to a more sinister influence and Dave Grohl becomes the pawn in a demon's attempt at opening a portal to hell. https://youtu.be/UEDkqOBhPis Review of Studio 666 This is what you get if you combine A Hard Days Night with a Charles Band movie and give it more budget than it deserves. In terms of movie making craft, this is a pretty shitty movie. The pacing is awful. The 1:50 run time could have been cut down to 70 minutes and lose absolutely nothing. The direction is extremely flat. I've seen industrial safety education videos with more creativity. If you are looking for gore, it is here, and there are some genuinely cool death scenes, but you're going to have to wait for about an hour and 30 minutes for the actual horror part of the horror movie to start. It's not all bad. In fact this is a very fun movie with a lot of moments that I really liked. I mentioned The Beatles A Hard Days Night, because I do think it's an apt comparison. In both movies, they are really carried by the charm and humor of the band itself. These are not professional actors, but their goofy hammy acting is endearing and fun to watch. Is this a movie that you should rush to see in theaters? No, definitely not. But if you want to watch an oddity and have a few laughs, you could do worse than Studio 666.
