Alright! You wanted the best, you got the best. The greatest rock n roll horror movies ever in a neat and organised list. It's Horror Rocks. I watched, rated and ordered 74 movies from 1971 to 2024 in order to attempt to figure out just what exactly could be the greatest of them all. Joining me on my journey are several guests, drinking several Jack and Cokes over a glorious 4 episodes full of ripping riffs, pummelling drums and voices so stretched they are at breaking point. This is Horror Rocks. It's a pretty long journey this one, part 3 of 4 in fact.
This week on the Talk Without Rhythm Podcast I'm fulfilling a very special Patreon Pick. Recently, we lost Steven King - a fellow podcaster, a talented artist, a member of the TWoRP Elite, and a good friend. So, in honor of Steve, I'm joined by his Invasion of the Podcast co-host Paul and our good bud Terry of Strange Highways to fulfill Steve's final Patreon Pick: a lesser-known comic book adaptation double-feature of 1996's Vampirella and 2000's Faust: Love of the Damned. I'm sure Steve's laughing his ass off. Today's guest is Jonas Barnes and we're talking horror comics and horror movies. How long have Jonas and Brett been reading comics? Is Spawn a horror comic? What is Spawn's deal? Why was Spawn put at the back of the comics shop? What made Spawn comics different? What made it not for kids? Was there backlash to Spawn? What happened when Brett read the first Marvel Zombies series? What happened with the Killing Joke animated movie? Why doesn't Jonas like Superman? Jonas likes the heroes more in Marvel but the villains more in DC. What about you? What makes Galactus awesome? Why does Jonas not like Superman's villains? Why were the Ghost Rider movies no good? Should Venom have been a horror movie? What happened with The New Mutants movie? Is Blade a horror film? What makes something a horror movie? What did the Deadpool movies do well? What is the movie Faust: Love of the Damned about? What happened in Batman: Damned? Reading list: Marvel Zombies (first one); Spawn; Batman: The Long Halloween; Killing Joke; Gotham by Gaslight; Superman: Red Son; Snelson: Comedy is Dying; Batman: Damned Recorded 6-18-22 via Zencastr
So, Podcast. Quelle: trust me, bro. Warum also verwende ich dann so eine ungenaue Redensart? Weil ich mir was schlimmeres als Affenpocken eingefangen habe, nämlich Patriks Humor. Tragisch. So, genug geschwafelt. Wird langsam Zeit fürs Bettchen. Papa wartet schon mit einer Gute-Nacht-Geschichte.

This week we cruise while a legion of damned jib to cut us up on the pow. John Jaspers was a bad artist until the day his lady was killed by some human smugglers. To get his justice, John sells his soul to M, and starts his short career as Hell's hitman. It isn't long before John is stopped, committed to the care of a beautiful and determined young psychologist, and M comes to complete their deal. Based on an indie comic- Faust: Love of the Damned. College student Cole believes he's taking his girlfriend, Kimberly, up to her father's newly purchased ski lodge with a tragic history for a little alone time with naked cuddles and shredding pow. Unfortunately, Kimberly has other plans. Including bringing along all her BBF, her cousin, two pro snowboarders, and a hanger on to film every possible second of rad stomps and zeechy face plants. Unfortunately, there is at least one skier who isn't a fan of snowboarders and will stop at nothing to ensure they follow the rules. Why do I keep expecting Cole to talk about food or break out in song? Who will escape by taking this fresh like a real Shredder? All that and Dave becomes a cat, Tyler gets feels, and Kevin gets meta. Join us, won't you?Episode 244- Gnarly Devil
Something we say a lot around Pick Six Movies HQ is “This is the worst movie we've ever done.” But, seriously, Faust: Love of the Damned is the worst movie we've ever done. It might be one of the most distasteful movies ever made. And yet, we watched it and then we laughed a lot while discussing it. We hope you do, too. This episode has been a long time in the making. Even aside from the hiatus we took after Episode 17, this topic is one we had originally planned to do for Episode 5, however covid lockdown kept us from doing the episode as we'd originally intended, But it's finally here: our episode on horror comic adaptations! As longtime comic book fans, this is a topic we've been eager to do since the earliest days of our podcast. And we honestly couldn't be happier with how this episode turned out, particularly thanks to our wonderful guests. For the first movie in the episode, Nick chose Wes Craven's adaptation of Swamp Thing, and we were lucky enough to have comic writer Ram V (These Savage Shores, The Many Deaths of Laila Starr and current writer of Swamp Thing) join us to talk about it! For the second movie, Jake chose the first installment of the Blade series from 1998, where we were joined by the fabulous writer Danny Lore (Champions, Queen of Bad Dreams, Lunar Room and an upcoming Blade one-shot)! The third movie in the lineup is Brian Yuzna's adaptation of the rather notorious horror comic Faust: Love of the Damned. And lastly, we were joined by our longtime friend and fellow comic lover Bil White, who chose Guillermo Del Toro's adaptation of Hellboy as the fourth and final movie. We truly hope you enjoy the episode, and we cannot thank our special guests enough for their time and the wonderful conversations. After you've listened to the episode, please check out their work and websites listed below: https://www.ram-v.com/ https://dannylore.com/ And as always, thanks so much for listening! CW: the movie and source material for Faust: Love of the Damned contain plot points involving sexual assault, which are discussed in the review. Lisa and comedian Ben Volchok trample through the gooey, Satan-y, goofy-faced, screaming mad "Faust: Love of The Damned" from 2000. Tune in for more Goons content than anyone expected. Content warning: episode briefly discusses child sexual abuse as part of the plot of the film.
Ben, Pogues and podcast all star Mike watch Faust: Love of the Damned. They talk disturbing T&A practical effects, Wolverine knock off, eyebrow acting, and Mike tries to find a deeper meaning. There was an audio issue with this recording hence the delay in release. It was fixed as much as possible.

It's a history-making week in more ways than one as we're releasing this week's episode earlier than ever before! Is Sunday even really a part of the week?! Anyhow, we thought this Brian Yunza tribute show was too good to let the apocalypse ruin, and wanted you to hear it before the world ends. Please savor our reviews of three weird & wild flicks from Mr. Yunza for this entire week, or until the human race goes extinct (whichever comes first).Up first! We pull the old switcharoo and highlight one of Brian Yunza's producing (rather than directing) efforts, a perhaps under-appreciate little B-movie (and by that we mean, little bug movie), 1993's Ticks! It's got marijuana themed hijinks, a wild cast including Amy Dolenz, Seth Green, Carlton, and Clint Howard - plus buckets of insectoid gore! Not suggested for squares. Next up! Y'all ever seen 1996's The Dentist? It's a sleazy late night thriller sort of affair with Corbin Bernsen as a Beverly Hills dentist gone postal. You might be surprised at the amount of gore scenes you can fit into a dentist's office. Keep your eyes peeled for character actor Earl Boen! Finally! It's a third film: Faust: Love of the Damned, from the year 2000. An intense, high-energy, heavy-metal themed dark/edgy take on the superhero world, this low budget Spanish production appeals primarily to the Parker Bowman demographic. All this plus YOUR regularly scheduled Cactus League Baseball / Minor League Hockey / Mick Foley update, Kevin's gone Invisible, speaking of marks, the dirt on Dublin Dr Pepper, a classic assortment of Junkmailers, ruthless metal straw slander, did we mention there's a coronavirus?, buggin' out at the Skyline, our weekly news plus Blu-ray Picks and even more! This time the Commonwealth Crew take on Faust: Love of the Damned, a film so disappointing the guys get right to talking about how ludicrous it is and only end up delivering the premise in a roundabout way. It's funny to hear a British guy say "breasts" and "buttocks." This film has the same effect as a music therapy class full of abrasive death metal, which is fitting in so many ways. Seriously kids, watch it! It's family fun for everyone! Send feedback to: feedback@dreadmedia.net, or 206.203.1213. Join the Facebook group! Follow us on Twitter @dreadmedia.
