Should You Pack Nice Clothes for Dressing Up at Walt Disney World?

Should you dress up in fancy clothes or a semi formal outfit at Walt Disney World? What should you wear to a Signature Dining restaurant at Disney World? Dressing up in upscale resort wear is definitely doable at Walt Disney World. Here's what you need to know. What does Fancy Style Look Like on a Disney vacation? While a Walt Disney World vacation is most often comprised of hot sunny weather and theme park days, there are occasions where you may want to dress up just a little bit for a night out, or dinner and drinks at a Signature Disney restaurant. In most cases, you don't need to bring formal wear or even a jacket and tie, unless you really want to. It is rare to see guests dressed up to that degree, unless they are part of a wedding party or heading to Victoria & Albert's for dinner.Still, it is nice to get a little more dressed up in the evenings, especially if you are heading out for dinner, drinks or to stroll through Disney Springs or see a show. For women, dressing up at Disney World could include a nice breezy dress, or skirt and blouse combination is a great way to get upscale style while still staying in the spirit of your Disney vacation. For men, casual pants or casual shorts (think business casual at work), along with a button-up shirt and casual shoes is the perfect way to go.Dressing up for Dinner at Walt Disney WorldFor Disney Signature Restaurants, there is no singular dress code that applies to all. Victoria & Albert's has the most stringent dress codes, while for the other Signature Dining Restaurants it really depends on the location.Disney World Signature Dining restaurants located inside Disney Parks (such as Le Cellier, Tiffins, Takumi-Tei and the Hollywood Brown Derby) tend to be a little more casual and less formal, since most guests are having a theme park day.For Disney World Signature Dining restaurants located inside Disney Resort Hotels or in Disney Springs the expectation is that guests will respect the restaurant's ambiance and aesthetic with a little bit more attention. No swimwear or ratty torn clothing, but rather neat and tidy resort wear at the very least. You will find the specific dress code for each Disney Signature Dining Restaurant on the restaurant's page at DisneyWorld.com. Disney Signature Dining Dress CodeThe Dress Code on the restaurant page is the same for virtually all Disney Signature Restaurants. It states:This restaurant is a Disney Signature Dining experience offering fine dining with a distinctly magical flair. Guests are expected to dress accordingly in attire that respects the restaurant's sophisticated and upscale aesthetic. Clothing should be clean, neat and in good condition. Please no swimwear.Victoria & Albert's Dress CodeThe Dress Code for Victoria & Albert's is unique as Walt Disney World. It states:Victoria & Albert's is an exquisite and intimate upscale dining experience and the culinary crown jewel of Walt Disney World Resort. Guests are expected to dress accordingly in semi-formal/formal attire that respects the restaurant's elegant and opulent aesthetic.Disney Bounding and Dapper DaysBeyond bringing nicer clothes to dress up at Walt Disney World, guests may also take part in Disney Bounding and the occasional Dapper Days.Disney Bounding is where you create an outfit that is inspired by a Disney character. It's not a character costume, but rather an outfit that takes elements of a character's style that you craft with your own clothes.Dapper Days are specific days (not Disney official) where guests dress to the nines in vintage style clothing and outfits. You'll definitely notice guests dressed up on Dapper Days at Disney, a true celebration of style.Thank You for Listening to the Disney Travel Style PodcastThank you very much for listening to this episode, we that you enjoyed it. Top 6 Ways to Celebrate Valentine's Day at Disney World, Plus Disney Weddings

Wondering how to celebrate Valentine's Day at Walt Disney World? We share the top six ways to celebrate Valentine's Day in style, plus a look at new Disney Parks wedding options and the new Disney Weddings gowns for 2024.New Disney Wedding Style Options Disney Weddings has added EPCOT with Spaceship Earth as a backdrop to its list of locations for in-park weddings at Walt Disney World.  Disney noted that the offering includes enhanced unique lighting displays on Spaceship Earth, choreographed to music and changing color patterns. EPCOT is now available to book for Disney weddings taking place in January 2025 and beyond. In case you were wondering, Disney in-park weddings offer a lot of potential setups. Pricing will rise into the hundreds of thousands, starting with a standard $40,000 ceremony fee and going up from there. You must use Disney transportation and so on. Weddings take place two to three hours after park closing. Ever wondered why Magic Kingdom was closing early one day for no apparent reason? Weddings can involved extravagent seating and couches along Main Street. The reception in from of the castle with tables elegantly designed. An underlit dance floor in front of the castle. Arrive by a trip down Main Street in Cinderella's Carriage and so on. Disney Wedding Gowns 2024 And if you're mortgaging the house for a Disney Wedding, then you have to have a Disney Princess inspired gown from the Disney Fairy Tale Weddings Collection, right? The 2024 line of Disney bridal gowns was just released and the gowns are, not surprisingly, stunning (and so is the photography being posted on social media by Disney). Sizes are available from 0 to 30 and gowns start at $1,799. Follow Disney Weddings on Instagram or Facebook if you want to see what all the buzz is about.  -- Top Six Ways to Celebrate Valentine's Day in Style at Walt Disney World How to Surprise Your Special Someone with a Magical Valentine's at Disney WorldSpa Treatment for TwoIf you are a couple who loves spas (or even if your significant other loves them and you want to make it special), the Grand Floridian Spa at Walt Disney World is a great spa where you can relax and unwind together. To book a treatment you can call a Spa Co-ordinator at (407) 824-3039 for more information on their couples options and other spa services. Hot Air Balloon RideIf you find it romantic to think of experiencing the "World" from high in the sky, head over to Disney Springs where you can board the Aerophile hot air balloon. This is a fun hot air balloon ride that floats 400 feet above the ground, offering great views of Walt Disney World (and beyond) day and night. You likely won't have the balloon to yourself on this one (it holds 30 people in total), but if you time it right you can catch a flight at sunset or during the fireworks displays for a little extra burst of romance and Disney magic. Cost is currently $30.00 per person (DVC and AP discounts may be available).Disney Springs Shopping SpreeIf your Valentine loves to shop, then why not surprise them with a Disney shopping spree at Disney Springs?! Gift your Valentine a gift card (or cash--which might be better for non-Disney shops) and accompany them on a shopping spree tour of Disney Springs! This is a particularly great gift if you don't normally like to spend time shopping, making it extra thoughtful and something your Valentine will truly appreciate it. Plus you have the option of making a day of it with a hot air balloon ride, treats and a romantic dinner!Romantic Carriage RideIs there anything more romantic than a horse-drawn carriage ride? Horse-drawn carriage rides are offered through the wilderness trails of Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and also at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. There aren't many things more romantic than snuggling up with your special someone in an old fashioned horse-drawn carriage through relaxing natural surroundings. The rides are approximately 25 minutes long and leave from Pioneer Hall at Fort Wilderness and Boatwright's Dining Hall at Port Orleans. Call Disney Reservations for more information: 407-939-7529.Romantic Dinner for TwoNo romantic Disney vacation together would be complete without at least one extra special dinner for two. While Disney World is known for its fun themed dining and character experiences, it is also home to some first-rate award-winning restaurants, many of which are ideal for a romantic dinner for two. You can choose from very formal experiences such as Victoria & Albert's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, to more relaxed--yet very elegant--surroundings such as Citrico's right next door or Narcoossee's, nearby. Other great choices include Via Napoli, Takumi-Tei and Monsieur Paul at EPCOT or The Boathouse at Disney Springs. Pick your personal favorite, or even better, make a surprise choice if you know a particular restaurant they love or want to try. Whatever your tastes, there is a great romantic spot for you somewhere around Walt Disney World. Bicycle Built for TwoFinally, for some casual but thoughtful romantic fun, a bicycle built for two is a romantic notion that you can do in a very practical way at Walt Disney World with your Valentine. Rent a surrey bike at Disney's Boardwalk Inn (or several other places around Walt Disney World) and you can enjoy a cozy bike ride side-by-side with your special someone. Riding along the Disney Boardwalk and adjacent area at night amidst the lights and activity of the surrounding area is a particularly romantic experience. Plus, you can enjoy dinner, a drink, dessert or even a nightclub after the ride at The Boardwalk--Thank You for Listening to the Disney Travel Style PodcastThank you very much for listening to this episode, we that you enjoyed it. We ordered the Konoki Dashi (Mushroom Soup) and Takumi Sashimi (Tuna, Toro, Salmon, Yellowtail, Uni, Ikura) let me tell you...Uni or Sea Urchin roe is quite possibly the most savory, delicious food I’ve ever tried. Subscribe and listen to this episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, GooglePlay, or iHeartRadio! Today, we are discussing your listener questions all about Walt Disney World! What are not-to-be-missed adult experiences at Walt Disney World? I discussed with Lou Mongello on WDW Radio Episode #557 the top 10 overlooked experiences for adults, inside and outside of Walt Disney World. Definitely check that out for great suggestions for adult experiences.   One of my absolute favorite adult experiences at Walt Disney World is the Wanyama Safari. This wonderful experience at Animal Kingdom Lodge includes an intimate tour of the savannas and a delicious Jiko dinner. I wrote a detailed review of the Wanyama Safari here.    Special dining is another great adult experience. I discuss dinner at EPCOT’s Takumi-Tei and Le Cellier.   Backstage tours are a fun adult experience. There are many to choose from around all the Walt Disney World parks, each offering a different topic and view of behind-the-scenes activities.  You can read about all the tour offerings here.  What free activities can I do solo at Walt Disney World? Outside of the parks, there are several fun activities that I think are enjoyable to do solo. Animal Kingdom Lodge offers a culinary tour of the two Jambo House restaurants, Jiko and Boma. You can go to Disney Springs to take in the entertainment, do some window shopping, and enjoy some free samples. Take a boat ride from Disney Springs to resorts, or enjoy boat rides in other areas of Walt Disney World. Or go high on the Skyliner between EPCOT and Disney Hollywood Studios, and stop at a resort to explore.  Inside the parks, enjoy the PlayDisney app for games and special effects throughout the parks. Play the interactive game, Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom. Enjoy free entertainment in all the parks. At EPCOT, enjoy free performances at the amphitheater outside the American Adventure pavilion.  What Walt Disney World restaurants are good for large groups? I highly recommend making advanced dining reservations for large groups whenever possible. Some of my favorite restaurants for large groups include Trails End at Wilderness Lodge, Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, Biergarten in EPCOT’s Germany pavilion, Ale & Compass at the Yacht Club, Boatwright’s Dining Hall at Port Orleans Riverside, ‘Ohana at the Polynesian Village Resort, The Boathouse at Disney Springs, Jaleo at Disney Springs, Il Mulino at Walt Disney World Swan Hotel, and Todd English’s bluezoo at Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel.  What quick service restaurants do you suggest? Dawn had a couple of questions about quick service restaurants, when she visits the parks in late August 2020. Her first question was which restaurant to go to near Spaceship Earth for a quick grab and go, before she and her family leave EPCOT and head to the Magic Kingdom. I recommended Sunshine Seasons in The Land pavilion, or to take the monorail to a resort before going to the Magic Kingdom.  Dawn’s second question was about recommendations for the best quick service restaurants to use quick service dining plan credits. Recommendations included: Magic Kingdom: Be Our Guest or Columbia Harbour House. EPCOT: Sunshine Seasons, Pizza al Taglio (Italy), and Regal Eagle Smokehouse (American Adventure). Disney Hollywood Studios: ABC Commissary in hot weather, or Woody’s Lunch Box in cooler weather. Animal Kingdom: Flame Tree BBQ, Harambe Market, and Satu’li Canteen. Resorts: Contempo Cafe at the Contemporary Resort, Landscape of Flavors at Art of Animation Resort, The Mara at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Pepper Market at Coronado Springs, and Geyser Point at Wilderness Lodge. Disney Springs: D-Luxe Burger, Daily Poutine. Thank you for listening! Join us this week as we take a look at two brand new restaurants coming to Epcot in 2019. In July, the newest Signature Dining option, Takumi-Tei, will open in the Japan pavilion. Guests will be able to celebrate "the relationship between Japanese craftsmanship and the natural world, while the food is inspired by the wonderful collaboration between nature and takumi, the artisan." Then, later this year, you'll have the chance to have dinner "where no man has gone before" at the new space-themed restaurant in Future World. Guests will be able to dine in a setting that places you above the earth's atmosphere. Using the latest technology, you will be surrounded by panoramic views of outer space for the duration of your meal experience. Also, we discuss the 2019 inductees of Disney Legends. James Earl Jones, Hans Zimmer, Robert Downey Jr., and Ming-Na Wen all headline this year's class.  Lastly, we give our spoiler-filled review of Avengers: Endgame. Join in on the conversation as we talk about our favorite highlights of the film and what it means as a whole for the future of the MCU.
