The Florida weather tried to run the show, but we still pulled off a packed Walt Disney World parks trip with plenty of snacks, storms, and hard-earned tips. Five parks. Three days. Were we crazy, lucky, or smart? Yes.We start with the pre-cruise stretch: checking into Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, hopping to EPCOT, and attempting the classic “drinking around the world” challenge in World Showcase while thunder and rain keep forcing us indoors at exactly the right moments. We also share one of our favorite adult breaks at EPCOT: Geo-82, the 21+ lounge inside Spaceship Earth, plus what it's like riding Ratatouille now that the 3D is gone and how Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind hits when you catch a new song. Italy becomes our accidental home base again, and yes, we have thoughts about how easy it is to “get stuck” there once the snacks and drinks start rolling. Then we splurge at Hollywood Studios with Lightning Lane Premiere Pass and explain how it works, what it costs, and why it felt like a true game changer for doing the park in a few hours without living on our phones. After a Disney Springs errand run, we got swept away at DVC's Moonlight Magic at Typhoon Lagoon.Post-cruise, we go full bucket list with a Polynesian Bora Bora bungalow stay, Trader Sam's, and July 4 fireworks from the deck. We wrap the trip with  what was supposed to be a relaxing day, but turned into Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom highlights, including Nomad Lounge, a minivan pro tip, Tron, the Beak and Barrel pirate bar, and ride updates like a smoother Big Thunder and a refreshed Buzz Lightyear.Subscribe, share this with your Disney parks planning crew, and leave a rating and review so more Disney fans can find us. He promises to keep everyone updated and reveal the answer on next week's episode. The fun continues with another round of **Guess This Disney Character**. The hosts explore the attraction's history, why it became a fan favorite, and how its former theater is now home to the popular **Mickey's PhilharMagic**, giving listeners a glimpse into a forgotten chapter of Disney history. To wrap up the episode, it's time for **Mike's Munchies**, where Mike heads over to **Kona Café** at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort for a delicious island-inspired meal. We're wrapping up an unforgettable Fourth of July weekend at Walt Disney World with plenty of food, fireworks, resort updates, and a few surprises along the way. We kick things off by giving shoutouts to some amazing members of the Main Street Magic community we had the chance to meet before diving into the latest changes around Disney's Polynesian Village Resort—including an update to Wailulu Bar & Grill's menu and the unexpected reason Disney has eliminated zero-proof cocktails across its owned restaurants. From there, we eat our way through the weekend with breakfast at Steakhouse 71, featuring Walt's Prime Rib Hash, seasonal pancakes, a build-your-own omelet, and some must-order sides before heading poolside to Barefoot Pool Bar for refreshing drinks and spicy honey pork wings. We also stop by Trader Sam's Grog Grotto to sample several appetizers and then chat about finishing the trip at Tambu Lounge with a couple of classic favorites. Along the way, we share our thoughts on the new Disney Springs bus procedures, recap what it's like spending Independence Day at Disney's Polynesian Resort, and discuss everything from fireworks to crowd levels to whether this holiday weekend is worth experiencing for yourself. Whether you're planning your next Walt Disney World vacation, looking for honest Disney dining reviews, or just want to spend some time hanging out with us, this episode is packed with food, fun, Disney updates, and plenty of holiday magic.

This might be one of my favorite shows I have been lucky enough to record in the 18+ years of our podcast! Today, I got to speak with Listener Shamus from Florida about his recent trip to Walt Disney World with his family where they stayed at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort! This was what Shamus called a "Right of Passage" trip for the kids, who were 7 & 5 at the time and enjoying most attractions and shows in the four theme parks for the first time! There are so many great stories about these experiences! We also talk about the extreme weather that took place during this trip and how they adapted. However, the "more" in the show title is what makes the show special. Shamus is wrapping up many years of active duty in the Navy and shares a few of his amazing experiences with us, and leaves me (and I hope you) with a very optimistic and hopeful view of humanity today. I sure feel that the world could use more of these feelings out there! We went all-in on a Disney Cruise Line experiment: a pre-cruise reset at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, then a four-day Disney Fantasy sailing with Castaway Cay, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, and a sea day that tested our patience and our snack limits. Between Trader Sam's, pool fireworks, and a surprisingly emotional “goodbye” lap around Walt Disney World, the trip already felt like a turning point before we even reached Port Canaveral.Once we board, it turns into a real-world guide to cruising with a family: the early-morning luggage pickup that can spark a panic, how to fix rotational dining conflicts the minute you connect to ship Wi-Fi, and what's actually worth prioritizing when the ship feels huge. We compare the main dining rooms, talk honestly about buffet highs and lows, and explain why Palo is absolutely worth budgeting time and money for if you want a true date-night meal. We also share our favorite relaxation “hack” on the Disney Fantasy: using the Rainforest Room showers to skip the tiny stateroom setup. Then it's island time. We break down what makes Castaway Cay feel perfectly curated for families, why Lookout Cay feels more like the Bahamas with real waves and Junkanoo energy, and how a kayak fishing excursion off Disney property became one of the most memorable moments of the whole sailing. We wrap with what we loved, what we didn't, whether we'd cruise again, and why this trip might be the end of our Disney travel era for a while. But first, Dayna joins us live from Disney's Hollywood Studios with a Disney Parks update, including her experience riding Soarin' Across America at EPCOT and the anticipation around Muppets Electric Mayhem taking over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. Then we go head-to-head-to-head with three very different Disney deluxe resorts. Animal Kingdom Lodge brings the savanna views, incredible theming, and some of the best resort dining at Disney World. The Polynesian delivers Monorail access, tropical vibes, Magic Kingdom convenience, and classic Disney nostalgia. Yacht Club brings the EPCOT resort area, walkability, Stormalong Bay, and easy access to both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. We rank each resort across the categories that matter most: location and transportation, theme and atmosphere, room size and layout, food and beverage, pools and amenities, and overall value. We're continuing our March Magic 2026 series as we shift from rides to resorts and build the ultimate Walt Disney World Resort Bracket. We've ranked and seeded 24 resorts from across property — including Deluxe, Moderate, Value, and even Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve — to determine which one truly deserves the crown. Using a mix of guest ratings, along with our own experiences, we evaluate each resort based on theming, amenities, dining options, location, transportation, and overall guest satisfaction. From iconic favorites like Polynesian Village Resort, Wilderness Lodge, and Beach Club, to fan-favorite values like Pop Century and Art of Animation, every resort earns its place in the tournament. We break down the full 1–24 seeding, highlight which resorts earned a first-round bye, and set up some very interesting opening matchups — including value vs deluxe battles, sleeper picks, and a few potential upsets that could shake up the bracket early. Along the way, we debate controversial rankings, question whether location outweighs theming, and discuss which resorts we think have the best chance to make a deep run. Which Walt Disney World resort is truly the best? Which ones are overrated, underrated, or primed for an upset? Let the madness continue! Download the bracket

We're ranking every table service restaurant on the Walt Disney World monorail loop. From the iconic chaos of Chef Mickey's to the signature staples like California Grill, Cítricos, and Narcoossee's… and yes, even the modern newcomer Wailulu Bar & Grill — nothing is off limits. We break down all ten restaurants across Disney's Contemporary Resort, Polynesian Village Resort, and Grand Floridian Resort & Spa using seven key criteria including food quality, value for money, atmosphere, views, uniqueness, reservation difficulty, and who each spot is really for. But we don't stop there. We hand out bonus awards — because what's a ranking episode without a little chaos? This episode blends nostalgia, honest opinions, date-night vibes, family dining realities, and a few spicy takes along the way. Whether you're planning your next monorail meal or just want to argue with us from your car, this one is guaranteed to spark debate. All aboard — it's time for Our Official Monorail Restaurant Rankings.

We're recording poolside at Disney's brand-new tower at the Polynesian Village Resort to talk all about the best Disney staycation resorts across several categories. Most people think of Walt Disney World as a place where you have to be in the parks from sunrise to fireworks, but we believe some of the very best Disney vacations happen when you never even step foot inside a park. For us, a Disney staycation is all about slowing down, relaxing, and enjoying everything the resorts have to offer. These aren't just hotels — they're destinations on their own. We're talking pools that feel like mini waterparks, restaurants that rival anything in Orlando, lounges with unbeatable theming, and hidden corners where you can kick back and unwind. Each resort has its own atmosphere, and some truly transport you to another world. In this episode, we're breaking it all down across several categories — from best pools and dining to most relaxing resorts, family favorites, and even a few hidden gems that often get overlooked. Whether you're planning your very first no-parks Disney getaway or you just want to know which resorts we think make for the perfect staycation, we've got you covered.

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort opened at Walt Disney World on October 1, 1971, making it only one of two opening day hotels on property (the other is Disney's Contemporary Resort; Fort Wilderness Campground opened at a month later). Inspired by the South Pacific, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort feels like its own tropical oasis on Seven Seas Lagoon (a short monorail or boat ride away from Magic Kingdom). With world-class restaurants and lounges ('Ohana, Kona Cafe, Trader Sam's and more), iconic pools, breathtaking views, a wide range of unique room options (including honeymoon suites and Bora Bora Bungalows), and a rich history at Walt Disney World, Polynesian is a fan-favorite resort.   In this episode, we discuss everything you need to know about staying at this deluxe-level resort, share reasons why you might want to stay here, and offer suggestions about how to make the most of your stay. And stay tuned because our next podcast episode will feature more information specifically about Island Tower, the newest addition to this resort and part of the Disney Vacation Club portfolio of hotels.   To plan a trip, be sure to work with KMV Travel.   Get bonus content, ad-free episodes, and more at patreon.com/imaginationskyway.   Tag me and join the conversation below. Today, Amanda Caseiro shares the story of her Wedding Pavilion ceremony and Grand Floridian Convention Center reception at the St. Augustine A–C ballrooms. She and Michael love Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, but when its ceremony venue was removed during construction, they had to pivot to create the Enchanted Tiki Room-inspired event they wanted at the Grand Floridian instead. Today you'll hear how they did this by working with their chef to customize a tropical menu and using an outside floral and décor vendor to create an island paradise inside a ballroom for less.  Click here to see all the photos!
