Buckle up, babes — because we've officially entered a ✨ NEW ERA ✨ and today I'm sharing the growth, insights, expansion & BTS of my real life glow-up! In today's solo episode, I'm spilling ALL the tea on:
There is evidence that six months or more off the job leads to some loss of practical skills and knowledge and certainly, many doctors a loss of self-confidence. People take time out from medical practice for many different reasons but career breaks to raise children are more common than ever before. Paediatrics is one specialty where female representation exceeds 70 percent and it is also becoming more common for new fathers to take leave as primary carers. Senior staff at Sydney Children's Hospital have developed a day-long workshop to help medics brush off the cobwebs before they return to practice. It involves rehearsal of specific skills, refreshers on calculation and interpretation tasks and a high-fidelity critical care simulation. Just as importantly, there is open discussion and mentorship to support the transition back to work. The program is called Paediatric Returnees after Maternity or Extended Leave (PRAM) this podcast was recorded during a live workshop at the Kids Simulation Centre, Randwick. GuestsWorkshop participants: Elodie, Eliza, Emma, April, Stephanie, Lucy and Paula. When you hear the word revival, you might think of the spiritual movements from the past, like the Great Awakening. But next in this program, you will discover how God still works that way today. Join Chip and author Jennie Allen as they discuss her passion for uniting the global church to reach the lost and what you can do to make a difference.Main Points Key Takeaways: The vision of Gather25: A 25-hour global event uniting Christians worldwide in prayer, worship, repentance, and sharing stories of God's work. The urgency of the Great Commission: With billions still unreached with the gospel, the Church needs to unite and work together to fulfill Christ's command. The importance of personal spiritual health: Before we can effectively impact the world for Christ, we need to address our own spiritual needs and walk in freedom. The power of confession: Confessing our sins and struggles to God and trusted others breaks the enemy's power and leads to healing and wholeness. Highlights: Jennie's journey from IF:Gathering to the birth of Gather25, inspired by a dream and a desire to mobilize the global Church. The importance of unity and collaboration among Christians despite differing viewpoints on secondary issues. The need for urgency in fulfilling the Great Commission, recognizing that many are perishing without Christ. The role of technology and organizations like illumiNations in reaching the unreached with the gospel. Jennie's emphasis on her own "ordinariness" and the fact that God can use anyone who is willing to say "yes" to Him. A guided exercise in confession and reflection, emphasizing the importance of recognizing our need for God and sharing our struggles with others. Call to Action: Participate in Gather25: Join the global Church on February 28th and March 1st, 2025 for this unifying event. Share the gospel: Take every opportunity to share the good news of Jesus with those around you. 255: “But colliding shores with something beyond the self is a relief. And it's made me a lot freer in my expression, in the way I move through life, the way I show up, the way I do the work that I do because if everything is about how I come across and who's going to perceive the work in this way and it's a constant measure of the self and that's exhausting and we're missing the point.” - Amanda Norgaard For free spirits craving authenticity and creative expression, this episode with Amanda—a Kundalini Yoga teacher, writer, poet, and Creative Mentor who defies convention—is for you. Dive in as she unpacks her journey of breaking free from rigid spiritual norms, embracing her true self, and building a soulful business on her own terms. **Snippets** from the episode "I think Kundalini energy calls to us in ways we can't ignore. It's not just a practice; it's a mirror, showing us parts of ourselves we may have suppressed or avoided." "It's not about what I wear or following some spiritual uniform. Kundalini, to me, is about being true to myself, even if that means jeans and a t-shirt." "Community isn't about us all thinking or looking the same; it's about creating a space where every color, every uniqueness, is welcome to show up." "This journey taught me to make my life the ritual – to integrate spirituality into every moment, not just when I'm on the mat or in meditation." "I don't have a roadmap for my business; I simply follow what feels alive in me. Sometimes that means stepping back, recalibrating, and listening deeply to what comes next." If you're drawn to the idea of blending authenticity with spiritual exploration, redefining community, and embracing every facet of your journey unapologetically, Amanda's insights offer an inspiring lens on living a life that's deeply rooted in personal truth and raw self-expression. In this powerful discussion, we explore the profound impact of Bible translation and its significance in spreading God's Word. The central theme revolves around the Illuminations project, which aims to translate the Bible into every known language by 2033. This endeavor reminds us of God's desire for all people to hear His message in their own tongue, echoing the miracle of Pentecost. As we reflect on this, we're challenged to consider our role in making Scripture accessible to all. Are we taking for granted our easy access to God's Word? How can we support efforts to bring the Bible to those who don't have it in their language? This conversation invites us to appreciate the power of God's Word and our responsibility to share it, reminding us that we are part of a greater mission to spread the Gospel to every corner of the earth. -- Connect with: Pastor Adam Mesa https://www.instagram.com/amesa/ Pastor Aaron Levy https://www.instagram.com/_aaronlevy/Jermaine Baker https://www.instagram.com/verlonbakerofficial/ -- Don't forget to stay connected with us: Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4OvpFp9OB9_DgVdVVbXhFg Instagram https://www.instagram.com/beyond.theletter/ Tik Tok https://www.tiktok.com/discover/beyond-the-letter -- Have a question? How are you growing in intimacy with Christ as an individual, family, and community? In this episode, Jeff, Jeff, Mart, and Tyler discuss: The generosity of women in the family. The privilege of traveling and experiencing other cultures and peoples. Collaboration to go faster and further together. Power in unity, person-to-person, life-to-life connections. Key Takeaways: Work is more than just what you do, it's who you are and applying that.Invite your children along the journey to be on mission as a family. Encourage them to also find their passions, make connections, and open relationships to them so they can see different pathways for their gifts to bless others. As you get closer to your city, your calling gets larger and larger. Satan always attacks at the point of unity. It is a hard battle, but it is worth fighting for. "I can't just be a gospel patron. I also have to be a gospel proclaimer, and I expect the gospel proclaimers to be gospel patrons and be generous themselves." — Mart Green Episode References: Rooting for Rivals by Peter Greer: https://www.peterkgreer.com/rooting-for-rivals/He Gets Us: https://hegetsus.com/ About Mart Green: Mart Green is the Ministry Investment Officer for Hobby Lobby and the founder of Mardel Christian and Education Supply stores. ORIGINAL AIR DATE: APRIL 2, 2016Since I reference this book a lot, I felt it was time to remaster and re-upload this show, with it's short Patreon segment as well. Eric Ouellet joins me for a fascinating discussion of his new book, Illuminations: The UFO Experience as a Parapsychological Event. He proposes that we should examine the UFO Phenomenon as we would a poltergeist case. It's a novel way of looking at it, and may ultimately play a part in solving this enigma. ERIC OUELLET is professor of Defence Studies at the Royal Military College of Canada, and at the Canadian Forces College (Canada's Joint Staff and War College). He has a Ph.D. in sociology from York University (Toronto, Canada), and he is the liaison officer for Canada with the Parapsychological Association. He has published parapsychological work in the Australian Journal of Psychology, EdgeScience, and the Bulletin Métapsychique. His other research works focus on military sociology and war studies. You can check out his blog at parasociology.blogspot.com
This time we went to the Serpentine gallery in Hyde park. What a nice setting for a contemporary art venue. That walk back to the tube is always a slow and ponderous one. We do talk a lot about walks back to the tube after visiting exhibitions in this episode! We visited the retrospective exhibition of the feminist pioneer Judy Chicago, whose blueprint was a hitherto unpublished manuscript, Revelations, inspired by Illuminations and myths of the Goddess. You can purchase it online or in the book shop. The show was curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist, the artistic director of the gallery. We exchanged different experiences and thoughts about the exhibition, based partially on the curatorial choices that were made and which puzzled us somewhat, although we support the ecological reasons they are based on.For more information about the exhibition go here: https://www.serpentinegalleries.org/whats-on/judy-chicago-revelations/Follow Judy Chicago on Instagram: @judy.chicagoAnd follow us! @exhibitionistas_podcastMusic by Sarturn.

Psalm 107 is full of wisdom about how we are to relate to our Heavenly Father. First of all, it starts with, "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! His steadfast love endures forever." I am including 2 tracks from my album, "Illuminations" as Shirley reads the scripture. David reminds us that the events we experience in the natural world are directly tied to what is taking place in the spiritual domain. As we see and experience political upheaval in our nation, we are reminded that the solution is turn from our course of action and consider what our Heavenly Father has instructed us to do. We need to humble ourselves and realize that our Heavenly Father has given us instructions that will lead to Life and Blessings. If we are not experiencing Life and Blessings, then we need to make a U-turn! Shalom. In his latest book At Home in Nature: Technology, Labor, and Critical Ecology in Modern China (Duke UP, 2022), Ban Wang uses an ecocritical lens to examine anthropocentrism, technoscientific hubris, and ecologically destructive modes of production in modern China. Analyzing modern discourse, literature, film, and science fiction, Wang asserts that the domination of nature and labor under capitalism and technocrats is the culprit of ecological crises and human alienation. Alternatively, Wang argues, utopianisms of nonalienated labor keep alive the ideals of resonance between humans and Earth. Ban Wang is the William Haas Endowed Chair Professor in Chinese Studies in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures and Comparative Literature at Stanford University. His major publications include China in the World: Culture, Politics, and World Vision (Duke UP, 2022), Illuminations from the Past: Trauma, Memory, and History in Modern China (Stanford UP, 2004), History and Memory: A Critique of Global Modernity (Oxford UP, 2004), Narrative Perspective and Irony in Chinese and American Fiction (Edwin Mellen, 2002), and The Sublime Figure of History: Aesthetics and Politics in Twentieth-Century (Stanford UP, 1997).
