The Adventures of Philip Marlowe was a radio series featuring Raymond Chandler's private eye, Philip Marlowe. Robert C. Reinehr and Jon D. Swartz, in their book, The A to Z of Old Time Radio, noted that the program differed from most others in its genre: "It was a more hard-boiled program than many of the other private detective shows of the time, containing few quips or quaint characters." In 1948, the series moved to CBS, where it was called The Adventure of Philip Marlowe, with Gerald Mohr playing Marlowe. This series also began with an adaptation of "Red Wind", using a script different from the NBC adaptation. By 1949, it had the largest audience in radio. The CBS version ran for 114 episodes. While the rest of the NHL's divisions seemed to be busy all summer long making moves and improving their rosters, the Central Division remained mostly the same with many of the franchises making minor moves. What will that mean for their overall success as well as the standings in the Central? Find out on today's episode of the Locked On Fantasy Hockey Podcast. Both Flip and Steele think the bottom of the Central stays mostly status quo, as the Chicago Blackhawks and Arizona Coyotes are two teams to really be careful of when thinking of drafting some of their fantasy pieces. This Central division preview revolves around the top-5 teams in the division, both from a fantasy hockey point of view and just a general overall success in the standings perspective - that means the Dallas Stars, St. Louis Blues, Minnesota Wild, Nashville Predators, and of course, Colorado Avalanche will be battling it out for the division title come April. With that said, however, those teams are also the top-5 to be targeting when it comes to filling out your fantasy roster. Do not sleep on some of the under-the-radar fantasy targets that could be huge next season, such as: Avalanche centremen Alex Newhook, Predators rugged winger in Tanner Jeannot, and even with young sniper Matt Boldy for the Wild. Last season, the Indiana Hoosiers football offensive line played about as poorly as possible, derailing the team before much of it could get off the ground. If the Hoosiers are to have any hope for next season, they'll need the offensive line to take a big step forward in 2022. On today's episode of Locked on Hoosiers, Jacob Rude (@JacobRude) continues the positional preview series by looking at the Hoosiers offensive line for the upcoming season. The team lost two starters but return one of the most talented linemen in the Big Ten in Luke Haggard. Along with Haggard, IU returns Matthew Bedford and a number of other experienced players from last season that could play bigger roles in the upcoming season. The questions could be about how much depth the Hoosiers will have for next season. But with Haggard anchoring the offensive line, there is room for optimism for IU moving forward. How much they improve will determine how much IU has a team improves this season. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Thursday 16th June 2022 The FOMC announced a 75-basis point rise in interest rates in the US, with rates rising to 3.4 percent by the end of the year. Sat the press conference that followed Jerome Powell spelt out that the next rise would be 50 or 75 basis points at the next meeting. They continue to argue that all of this can be achieved with a soft landing, but as NAB's Ray Attrill suggests, when has a central bank ever confessed to contributing to a recession. There was also an emergency meeting of the ECB yesterday, as they try to tackle fragmentation in the European union occurring from rising rates. The Auburn Tigers have several players where it's easy to make a case for them having a strong 2022 season after seeing what they did in Auburn's spring game last weekend. The Auburn football team has a lot of questions entering the summer but we found ten players that we are excited to see take that next step over the next few months after a strong start to the off-season. The Auburn Tigers on the list include players from the offensive line, wide receiver room, defensive line, defensive backfield, and linebacker. Auburn football has upside all over the roster and could help the team make a statement in 2022 under Bryan Harsin's second year as head coach. On today's Locked On Auburn, Zac Blackerby is joined by Lindsay Crosby of Auburn Daily and Locked On MLB Prospects. The guys each share a list of five guys from the Auburn football team that they believe could take a step forward in 2022 after a strong few weeks of spring practice. Technically, Crosby lists six players, be sure to tune in to see if that's fair or not. The final segment includes a discussion about Auburn baseball's series on the road at Mississippi State.
