How does Charlie think Dan Wilson is doing so far in his first full season as the Mariners manager? How confident is he in the Mariners starting rotation that has been filled with injuries? // Would calling up Harry Ford be a good option for the Mariners to kick start this offense to get back to where they need to be? Would that be a big enough fix to help this team get back in the win column or do more moves need to be made? // Why has the Mariners bullpen struggled this season compared to seasons past? In this special Shortcast edition, Jeremy Kubicek, author of The 100X Leader: How to Become Someone Worth Following, shares how we can lead with both support and challenge to help others reach their full potential. Drawing inspiration from Sherpas guiding climbers on Mount Everest, Jeremy illustrates what it means to lead others by being fully for them and helping them succeed—not just in tasks, but in personal growth. In this Shortcast, we explore: What Makes a Leader Worth Following: Why being “for” the people you lead matters more than authority or performance. The Sherpa Analogy: Leaders should guide, support, and empower others like a Sherpa helps climbers summit Mount Everest—and then helps them down again. Support + Challenge = Growth: Jeremy outlines how to calibrate the right mix of support and challenge in your leadership style to avoid extremes like fear-based or overly permissive leadership. Calling Up vs. Calling Out: A key leadership shift is learning to call people up to who they want to be, rather than calling them out with shame or frustration. From Subjective to Constructive Feedback: How shifting from judgment to objective, prescriptive feedback builds trust and lasting influence. Whether you're managing a team, parenting, or looking to grow personally, this episode offers simple but powerful strategies to lead with empathy, clarity, and effectiveness. Brian McTaggart, Astros beat reporter for MLB.com, joins The Astros On-Deck Show after the Astros defeated the Chicago White Sox 4-1 on Wednesday at Guaranteed Rate Field. Hunter Brown started on the mound and delivered his sixth consecutive quality start, allowing only one earned run across six innings. Brown's power sinker "has really opened up his entire arsenal," McTaggart said. Bryan Abreu, Ryan Pressly and Josh Hader each threw a scoreless inning to secure the win Wednesday. "It's not always going to be pretty," but "the bullpen is falling into line here." Spencer Arrighetti will start on the mound Thursday as the Astros look to earn a series win against the White Sox. This is a "good chance today for him to get back on track" after giving up seven earned runs off 48 pitches Saturday when stepping in for an injured Justin Verlander against the Detroit Tigers. With Verlander on the injured list, the Astros have called up right-handed pitcher Jake Bloss, a third-round pick in the 2023 MLB draft. The 22-year-old has split time between High-A Asheville and Double-A Corpus Christi and is expected to make his Major League debut Friday against the Baltimore Orioles.

Locked On Giants – Daily Podcast On The San Francisco Giants
Blake Snell is currently on the San Francisco Giants' injured list, yet the Giants aren't relying on one of their top young starters to fill his place. Daulton Jefferies got lit up in the first series of the year and appears poised to pitch tonight. Sean Hjelle is also on the active roster, while Black continues to dominate in Triple-A. Should the Giants add Black to the roster—forcing a 40-man move—instead of relying on the likes of Jefferies and Hjelle? Switching gears, Tom Murphy has been the SF Giants' least productive player thus far. Is there any cause for concern?
