Lesley appeared on Debate Night last week. We look back at this, the issues that were raised by the audience, and the replies of the panel. Here's the link to Lesley's justified rant over the energy rip off.https://www.facebook.com/reel/984639903833195Kneecap have clarified their position and apologised to the families of David Amess and Jo Cox after the accusations made over statements made during gigs. John Swinney has called for the group to be removed from the TRNSMT line-up, echoing those made by Kemi Badenoch and others over Glastonbury. Is this furore simply, as Kneecap have claimed, a distraction from the real issue of Israel's actions in Gaza?Meanwhile Louis Theroux has made a follow up documentary on the Israeli " settler" movement. We look at Daniella Weiss, the so called "Godmother" of the movement her actions ,the Zionist nationalist tradition she comes from, and the influence she has on the Israeli government. We turn our attentions to three sets of elections. The result of the Canadian General Election, the English local elections, and the Runcorn and Helsby by election. There has been a landmark decision at appeal giving Poet's Neuk, a local community group, the right to buy privately owned land under a compulsory purchase order. It's taken nine years after the passing of the 2016 Land Reform Act for this to happen for the first time. Will this set a precedent? All of this plus gig reviews and TV recommendations. ★ Support this podcast ★

Joe McGillveray is the guitarist for Scottish indie rock band The Snuts. After generating a grassroots following with the success of a few self-released singles, the band signed with Parlophone and released their debut album 'W.L.' (2021) to great acclaim and claimed the top spot in both the British and Scottish album charts. The follow up album 'Burn the Empire' did almost as well, peaking at the third spot, but it became clear that the band wasn't on the same page with their label. So for their latest album 'Millennials' the band went back to their independent roots. We spoke with Joe about the new album, TRNSMT festival, the early days of the band, having their debut album reach the number one spot, taking creative control back and a lot more! Podcast Overview: Arielle spoke about her Hï residency with David Guetta, Radio 1 and the importance of keeping her routine. Who Is Arielle: Arielle Free's meteoric rise in the dance music industry in an earnest one. Arielle has become a key figure in the music world, continuing to shape the musical landscape around her. Often referred to as Scotland's answer to Annie Mac, which is an easy comparison to make. Yet dig a little deeper and it's easy to see how Arielle is carving out her own space in dance music... cutting her teeth in her formative years as the host of Ministry of Sound's Radio Drive Time, she was then brought in to cover Saturday's Dance Anthems by the BBC, making a lasting impression which reinforced her claim to a highly coveted Radio 1 spot then being promoted to early breakfast host alongside becoming the daytime face of Radio 1 Dance. Arielle burst onto the club scene with performances at Printworks, Creamfields, Parklife, Glastonbury, Glovebox & TRNSMT, not to mention her debut in Ibiza. Arielle Free has constantly pusher herself from radio DJ, to club DJ, to label owner, to producer & beyond! Ready for Rebellion? Graham Coath talks music with the Skylights! Including a conversation about new single 'Rebellion'. REBELLION signals the start of a new wave of releases from the band, which will lead to their 2nd album, due in 2024. It will be followed in early summer by another new song in a completely different and more reflective style. 2023 has already seen the band play sold-out shows in new cities, with more ahead of them, and a deeply loyal and engaged audience waiting for their next move. Every live show is a huge celebration for their fast growing, loyal and passionate fanbase. Truly a band of the people', Skylights bond with their supporters is admired and envied by many more established artists. SKYLIGHTS are now adding significant festival slots to the diary, inc. TRNSMT in July – appearances hard earned from ‘walking the walk' through their sell out shows, strong work ethic, integrity, and constant engagement with fans.

In the week that would have been Scotland's biggest annual music TRNSMT, Cassi and Roisin are joined with festival legend Amy MacDonald to talk all things music festivals; the unforgettable sing-along highs, to the bleak, muddy, and occasionally urine-related lows. The girls share stories of their adventures from the fields and stages of past summers. If you are gutted not to be in the festival fields this year then don't worry, we've got your back, so come hang out in this episode of The Love / Hate Club Podcast. This Podcast does contain strong language and adult themes, so if that's not your thing, why not check out another podcast on the BBC Sounds app. Love/Hate Podcast is hosted by Cassi Gillespie and Roisin Kelly Produced by Ally McCrae and Ross Semple (BBC Scotland) Senior Producers are Kirsty Drain and Paul McFadyen Exec Producer is Anthony Browne Commissioned by Jonathan Kanagasooriam and Louise Kattenhorn for BBC Sounds
It's a new week of Love Island but the same old drama keeps hanging about... Why does Amber still like Michael? Why did Anton behave like an idiot? Worst of all, why does Tommy think 'cheesenta' is Spanish for cheese? We can't answer these questions but we'll try.Paul Black is lying in a T-hole (TRNSMT-hole) somewhere (jk, he's actually doing actual work today) so it's down to Lorenzo Pacitti, Deirdre Fidge and producer Paul Carlin to rip strips out of these islanders... mission accomplished.Follow us on your socials: @firepitpod
It was a first meeting for Gordon as he welcomed comedy legend Ardal O'Hanlon into the studio! He was in to talk about his new tour and his incredible career to-date. As well as that – there's some TRNSMT news and a Classic Album from Depeche Mode. Tune in LIVE every weeknight from 7pm-10pm to hear the Evening Show on Radio X.
This week, Gordon spoke to Tom Grennan on the eve of his debut album being released. There's also a Classic Album from Queens of the Stone Age, a brilliant “What's the Story?” and the aftermath of Gordon's trip to TRNSMT. Tune in LIVE every weeknight from 7pm-10pm to hear the Evening Show on Radio X.
Yet again, Gordon spent the weekend trying his best to lose his voice. This time it was at TRNSMT in Glasgow! He nearly succeeded, but left just enough in the tank to chat to Mick Rock, legendary rock photographer and Matt Thompson from The Amazons! There's also a Classic Album from The Biff and plenty of other nonsense too! Tune in LIVE every weeknight from 7pm-10pm to hear Gordon on Radio X.
