Is hustle culture the biggest startup lie? Is Brazil the end of credit cards? Can a fintech run like a pharmaceutical lab?In this episode of The J Curve, I sit down with Piero Contezini — founder and executive chairman of Asaas, one of Brazil's most influential fintech platforms serving thousands of SMEs and processing billions in payments. Backed by SoftBank, Bond, Bradesco, and other top investors, Asaas has evolved from a Stripe-for-Brazil experiment into a full-stack financial operating system with 37 revenue streams.Piero's story is one of relentless experimentation, radical cultural rules (like an 8-hour workday and zero-bug policy), and building in sync with Brazil's regulatory revolution around PIX and Open Finance. Here's what we cover:• Why service companies can't scale like product companies• How one SME pain point grew into 37 revenue streams• The fintech monetization model tied directly to customer success• The culture rules that shaped Asaas: 8-hour workdays and zero bugs• How PIX and Open Finance reshaped Brazil's fintech landscapeJoin The J Curve Community:Newsletter: Weekly deep dives into LATAM's hottest deals, emerging trends, and market intelligenceLinkedIn: Daily market insights and exclusive founder updatesInstagram: Behind-the-scenes podcast moments and quick industry takesHit subscribe and share this episode with fellow entrepreneurs and investors
In the last couple of blogs, we looked at the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena 1978 UFO Chronology, which was unusual for the large number of humanoid reports with space suits, helmets and antennas in the descriptions. We also noted that there seemed to have been a flap in Italy in December and that one case listed that month is worthy of individual attention. The principal witness/experiencer was Piero Fortunato Zanfretta, and his story was investigated by Italian journalist Rino Di Stefano, who wrote a book about it that he published in 2014 titled The Zanfretta Case. This is the last of a three-part series of blogs covering the case of an Italian security guard (with the company Val Bisagno), Piero Fortunato Zanfretta, who reported a number of encounters with UFOs and their occupants. After the first incident, he described in conscious recall being confronted by “an enormous green, ugly and frightful creature, with undulating skin, no less than ten feet tall.” Under hypnosis the story came out that he was taken up into a craft where he was interrogated and examined by as many as ten creatures “about 10 feet tall, with hairy green skin, yellow triangular eyes and red veins across the forehead” with metal strips over their mouths. He said they told him they were from the “third galaxy,” wanted to talk to the people of Earth, and would return soon in greater numbers. Italian journalist Rino Di Stefano became interested in the case, stuck with it, and wrote a book about it titled The Zanfretta Case, first published in Italian in 1984 and then in English in 2014. The reader can refer to his website promoting the book for most of the information. What makes this case unique is that there is corroborating evidence in the form of possible landing traces, giant footprints, witness testimony from his co-workers, and observations made during the investigation by the Italian military police known there as the Carabinieri. In the last blog, we looked at the first two UFO and occupant encounters reported by Italian security guard Piero Fortunato Zanfretta. The case was investigated by the Carabinieri (Italian Military Police) and evidence was found in the form of possible landing traces in the first and second instances with the addition of huge footprints in the second. In conscious recall, Zanfretta described encountering “an enormous green, ugly and frightful creature, with undulating skin, no less than ten feet tall.” Under hypnosis after the first instance, he said he was taken to a bright, hot place and examined by “monsters about 10 feet tall, with hairy green skin, yellow triangular eyes and red veins across the forehead” (he also described them having metal strips over their mouths) that told him they were from the “third galaxy,” wanted to talk to the people of Earth, and would return soon in greater numbers. Oggi vive in Friuli Venezia Giulia. What do we know about Pope Leo XIV? First of all, he is an Augustinian! The Augustinians are a religious order of friars who live out the spirituality of St Augustine of Hippo, the author of the spiritual classic, 'Confessions'.Piero met up with Fr Gladson Dabre, Provincial of the Augustinians in Britain, to explore what we can expect from Pope Leo's leadership.St Augustine was the author of the highly influential works 'Confessions' and 'The City of God' - both of which Fr Gladson explores, before unpacking how they might influence Pope Leo's leadership of the Catholic Church.

Piero Hincapié could be Arsenal's final signing of the summer, and he is the missing piece that we couldn't imagine signing. The Leverkusen defender is a target to replace Jakob Kiwior and it's safe to say that he would be a major addition for Mikel Arteta. The signing would make it eight new arrivals for Arsenal this summer, and this would also represent a major fee on top of what has already been spent on Zubimendi, Eze, Madueke, Gyokeres, Norgaard, Mosquera and Kepa. In this video Adam Keys analyses Piero Hincapié's traits and looks at where he will fit in at Arsenal:- What does Xabi Alonso say about Piero Hincapié?- What position does he play?- 24/25 heatmaps- Similarities and differences to Riccardo Calafiori- Piero Hincapié's overlapping ability from left back- His pace and straight line running power- How would he work with Martinelli, Eze and Madueke?- Defensive style- How does Piero Hincapié compare to Calafiori, Gabriel and Kiwior? You can find more Arsenal Therapy Content here:https://thearsenaltherapypod.com/Twitter: https://twitter.com/arsenaltherapyTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@arsetherapypodInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/arsenaltherapypod/Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/7tFYKwDmGpJcAFkAefYMQaApple: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-arsenal-therapy-podcast/id1545069959 Google: https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9hbmNob3IuZm0vcy80NDRkMmQxNC9wb2RjYXN0L3Jzcw==#hincapie #pierohincapié #eze #arsenal #odegaard #gyökeres #viktorgyökeres #madueke #odegard #zubimendi #riccardocalafiori #zubimenditoarsenal #DeclanRice #MartinZubimendi #saka #bukayosaka #arsenaltactics

Hello Rank Squad! The (first) Transfer Window has officially closed, but there's been plenty of activity on the managerial merry-go-round across Europe, with new faces taking over at new places - to the delight of some and the chagrin of others. On today's episode we're looking at a number of new bosses and analysing how we think they fit their new home. We start with the most recent appointment - Brentford's Thomas Frank is all set to take over at Tottenham Hotspur, who moved on from Ange Postecoglou at the end of last week, and try to build on that Europa League trophy that Ange won in what turned out to be his final game. We discuss the differing approaches and how this might all work out; before moving on to talk about Xabi Alonso's new era at Real Madrid, after he left Bayer Leverkusen to replace Carlo Ancelotti; and his replacement at Leverkusen - former Manchester United and Ajax gaffer Erik ten Hag. Then in Part Three, we get stuck into the Calcio Chaos - Christian Chivu replacing Simone Inzaghi at Inter; Max Allegri returning to AC Milan to take over from the sacked Sergio Conçeição; Gian Piero Gasperini leaving Atalanta to take over from Claudio Ranieri at Roma, with the Tinkerman turning down the Azzurri to stay upstairs in the Eternal City; and former Gasperini disciple Ivan Juric replacing the old chessmaster at Atalanta. There's some chat too about the Club World Cup and some of the transfers yet to happen this summer at the start of the show, and don't forget to take a look at our Patreon, where there's loads more transfer podcasts and newsletters happening over the course of this summer. It's Ranks! And remember, if you'd like more from the Rank Squad, including extra podcasts every Monday and Friday (including our weekly Postbox taking a look at the whole weekend of football) and access to our brilliant Discord community, then why not join us here on Patreon?

From his turbulent reception at Fort Jackson to filing a formal EO complaint against a racist nurse and being singled out by a Hispanic drill sergeant, Piero opens up about the systemic mistreatment he endured under the Biden Administration. Upon being accused of violating DEA and EO policies, Piero's case caught the attention of Congressman Eli Crane and Rep. Read OnlineThe chief priests assembled with the elders and took counsel; then they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came by night and stole him while we were asleep.' And if this gets to the ears of the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” Matthew 28:12–14The Lord of all rose from the grave, conquering sin and death, making it possible for us all to share in His glorious Resurrection! Death had lost. Satan had lost. The corrupt religious leaders had lost. And all those who believed in Jesus now had their eternal hope renewed. Sadly, though, what was the greatest victory ever known for humanity, a victory that opened the doors to eternal glory for all who believe, could not be accepted by the chief priests and elders of the people. They saw to His death, and, now that He had risen, they scrambled to do all they could to hide that truth.Pride is hard to overcome. When a person professes they are right, when in fact they are wrong, and when they are then confronted with their error, the sin of pride will inevitably tempt them to further sin. This is what we see today in this passage from our Gospel. The chief priests and elders were informed by the soldiers that when the women came to the tomb early in the morning, there was a great earthquake, and they saw an angel of the Lord descend from Heaven, roll back the stone, and sit on it. When they saw this, “The guards were shaken with fear of him and became like dead men” (Matthew 28:4). And after they heard the angel tell the women that Jesus had risen, the guards went off to tell the chief priests and elders. After all the miracles and powerful preaching of Jesus, you would think that the chief priests and elders would have believed. But they didn't. And then, after hearing the testimony of these soldiers, you would think they would have fallen on their knees, repented of their hardness of hearts, and come to believe. But they didn't. They doubled down in their sin and added sin upon sin. Some forms of sin can more easily be admitted, especially sins of weakness. When one is weak and falls, it may not be always easy to overcome that sin in the future, but it is easier to acknowledge it as sin when it is caused by human weakness. But a sin of weakness is much different than a sin of obstinate pride. Obstinate pride is not only hard to overcome, it's hard to admit. It's hard to admit our sin when it is based on our obstinacy and pride. As a result, this type of sin often leads to other sins such as ongoing deception, manipulation and anger. This is illustrated by these chief priests and elders. But if you can humble yourself and admit your sin when it comes from your pride, that humility can have a powerful and transformative effect upon your life.Reflect, today, upon these chief priests and elders of the people. Try to ponder their hardness of heart and the sad situation they found themselves in as they attempted to cover up their error and sin. Resolve never to fall into this form of sin yourself. However, if this is a struggle for you, seek humility so that you can be freed of this heavy burden by the grace of the Resurrection of our Lord.My resurrected Lord, You conquered sin and death and brought forth new life for all who believe in You. Give me the grace, dear Jesus, to never allow my sin of pride to keep me from being open to the glorious and transforming action You desire to do in my life. Please give me the gift of humility so that I may always turn from my sin and turn to You. Jesus, I trust in You.
