Gospel Recording Artist Born in Daytona Beach FL, Danny Sullivan grew up in several homes from his mom, grandmother and aunts. At age of 8, Danny moved to San Antonio Texas. Rebellious from a young age, Danny was no stranger to hard work and creativity. By the 13 he worked as a cleaner, but his dream didn’t stop there. Though never staying in one place for long, In every one of the households there was a tight musical background that young Sullivan became immersed in. His first major influence in music was his Mother Alva, a singer at the Jam Club with the band the Universal. His other influence was his grandfather grandfather, a bass player as well as a trumpet player at Bethune Cookman university. Leading him to love Old School R&B and Luther Vandros. The first song he wrote as a child was a song dedicated to his mother, titled “I’m Sorry.” With Danny’s strong roots in r&b music and close influences, his gift was soon realized as a youth when he became a part of the adult choir of Triumphant Fellowship Church in 1993-1995. After that he went on to write music throughout 7th and 9th grade. The journey to stardom was hard, soon after the young crooner stopped singing in 1999 to 2013. But sports and singing was still a part of his life. Soon Danny came back to music as a freshman in college at cookman. One special song he wrote in 2013 was Pray. The greatest experience he's achieved in the entertainment industry is opening up for Lyfe Jennings on Valentine's Day 2018. Danny is anticipating the drop of his freshman EP “Pray” this 2021 spring. He’s currently in the studio now.
We return to the world of the paranormal this week in the company of writer, presenter and producer, Danny Robins. Danny's latest project is diving into a Poltergeist case that caused national headlines back in the mid 1950s but seemed to have dropped off the paranormal radar until a decade ago. In January 1956, 63 Whycliffe Road saw the arrival of one of the most active poltergeist cases in British history. Seemingly focusing on 15 year old Shirley Hitchings, the polt turned the lives of the Hitchings family upside down for the best part of decade, finally petering out in 1968. Danny's wonderful series focuses on the work of the forgotten British parasychologist, Harold Chibbert and his hands on investigation of the disembodied spirit who claimed his name was Donald amongst many other things. Featuring dramatic recreations with a stellar case including Toby Jones and Dafne Keen amongst others, The Battersea Poltergeist has been a phenomenal success via BBC Sounds. With Danny hosting the show, we discuss the shows germination, the two experts Ciaran O'Keefe and Evelyn Hollow and how Danny came across the case. We dive into the world of the poltergeist and wrestle with the concept of just how anyone could have even faked so much of the incredible evidence witnessed over so many years. This week’s Money Reimagined dives into the increasingly urgently needed Ethereum 2.0 upgrade. What is it and why does it matter? We talk with Danny Ryan, a researcher at the Ethereum Foundation. He has become a key player in the complicated “herding the cats” task of “herding the cats” of getting thousands of different stakeholders in this vibrant decentralized community aligned enough to undertake the massive 2.0 transition with sufficient cohesion. With Danny’s help we break the whole thing down in a way that’s accessible to people beyond the developer community: Proof-of-stake consensus, sharding, Layer 2, and how decision-making and development happens in this free-wheeling open-source environment. We put it all in the context of a giant boom for the Ethereum ecosystem, as money pours into red-hot decentralized finance (DeFi), as a mania for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) plays out, and as ether hits new all-time highs as large institutions gain exposure via new CME futures. All this is bringing into stark relief the urgent need to advance the system’s scalability as congestion on the network is driving up transactions costs, or “gas fees” to unsustainable levels. It’s a timely episode, in other words. Have a listen. Image Credit: Sander Weeteling/Unsplash

As founder and CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group and Shake Shack, Danny Meyer has grown his empire to include some of New York’s most beloved and acclaimed restaurants and cafes. Together, Danny’s restaurants and team have won an unprecedented 28 James Beard Awards – the food industry’s highest honor. But it’s not just great food that sets Danny’s restaurants apart from the rest. It’s what people experience and feel when they’re eating there. In fact, Danny Meyer’s story is a remarkable testament to the sheer power of hospitality. In this episode, we explore the unique and celebrated culture of hospitality that Danny has created. He shares with Tony how he’s managed to scale that culture across Union Square Hospitality Group, as well as Shake Shack, the fast-casual restaurant Danny founded back in 2001. With Danny at the helm, what started as a single hot dog cart in Madison Square Garden is now a publicly traded company with over 250 locations and 6,000 employees. Listen closely, because Danny also shares the six qualities he looks for when hiring employees – from dishwashers to executive chefs – and what he thinks it takes for entrepreneurs across all industries to succeed in business.
Our very first guest on the show is Danny Boy, a rapper in both House of Pain and La Coka Nostra, as well as a founding member of the Delta Bravo Exploration Team. While achieving his success in the music industry, Danny struggled with and eventually overcame alcohol addiction. His “universe changed” when he got drunk for the first time at 14 years old, and he continued to drink from that point on. Although his initial vice was alcohol, at the height of House of Pain’s success, Danny turned to methamphetamines and speed. After realizing he was “sick and tired of being sick and tired”, Danny agreed to go to a daily meeting group for addicts. He became sober for several years, but after one drink on a night out, he again found himself in a dark hole of speed and alcohol. At his wit’s end and rock bottom, he was living in a warehouse - losing teeth, weight, and his mind. With Danny nearly at his breaking point, a friend coincidentally called him, and he finally made his way back to AA meetings. He then beat his addiction for a second time, and has now been sober for fourteen years. As Danny says, “If you don’t grow, you go”.
With Danny in the internetless wilds, one of my favorite guests Ben Taylor of the Thinking Basketball YouTube Channel joins the show. We get into our key insights from the 2019 playoffs and offseason and how things at the highest levels may change with the demise of the Warriors and (for now) three-star teams. We also discussed the potential effects of shortening the season, his top-10 players in the NBA video, and what changes from his book Thinking Basketball have been implemented in the league. Plus, a recap of our outing to Caesar’s Buffet at summer league. With host Nate Duncan (@NateDuncanNBA) and Danny Leroux (@DannyLeroux). Hello and welcome back to Equity, TechCrunch’s venture capital-focused podcast, where we unpack the numbers behind the headlines. This week was a bit of a reunion with Kate and Alex on as usual, with the addition of Extra Crunch denizen extraordinaire Danny Crichton. Danny, you may recall, has been a semi-regular Equity co-host over the past year.As Kate explains up front, Equity is out a day early this week due to the Big TechCrunch Robotics Affair in Berkeley today. We'll be back on Friday with IPO news regarding Zoom and Pinterest and we can't wait.Ok, all that sorted, what did we talk about? Alex wanted to talk about some market signals that he reads as bullish. Whatever went wrong at the end of 2018 has healed over he thinks because there have been a whole lot of supergiant venture capital rounds and some other stuff.Next, we gave an example of one of those supergiant rounds in the works. The reported Pax round, which could put $400 million into the cannabis vaping company, intrigues us, especially because Pax is the corporate sibling of JUUL, the now-famous e-cigarette company what sold just over a third of itself for nearly $13 billion last year. A truly staggering deal. Then we turned to Brex, the fintech startup that was back in the news this week. Why? Because it raised a $100 million debt round as startups of that sort do. Brex provides a credit card made specifically for startups that require no personal-guarantee. Yeah, risky, we know. We talked about that risk and Brex's plan to target Fortune 500 business in the future.Rounds for Ro, Kindbody and Carrot Fertility made it a busy week for healthtech, too. Ro is raising at a $500 million valuation to support its three digital health brands: Roman, Rory and Zero. Meanwhile, a pair of fertility startups, Kindbody and Carrot, brought in $15 million and $11 million, respectively. With Danny back on the show, we extended our reach and discussed the latest in the chip and sensor world. NXP, fresh off a failed, multi-billion dollar exit to Qualcomm put money into Hawkeye Technology, a China-based company working in the car sensor space. Equity's regular hosts mostly nodded as Danny dropped a lot of knowledge. All that and we had some fun. We'll be back before you know it.

As always make sure you've watched the episode before listening to our podcast. Iron Fist Season 2 Episode 6 Review "The Dragon Dies At Dawn" Spoiler filled Synopsis Directed by Philip John Written by Matthew White Back at the dojo Misty Knight (Simone Missick) interrogates Joy Meachum (Jessica Stroup) and Mary Walker (Alice Eve) separately and convinces Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) that arresting them would be more problematic than tracking down Davos (Sacha Dhawan). She also discovers that three Tebori tattooists, known as the Crane Sisters, were behind the ritual on Danny Rand (Finn Jones) and could be the key to regaining his Chi. With Danny resting up under the watchful eye of Ward Meachum (Tom Pelphrey), Misty and Colleen, jacked up on snacks, go on the hunt for the Crane Sisters. Meanwhile, as Mary and Joy are under house arrest in the bedroom, Joy, desperate to rid herself of Davos and his “virtue”, offers a contract to Mary to track and take out Davos. Mary accepts and allows Danny to join her, who eventually persuades her to bring him in alive so they can transfer the chi of the Iron Fist back to Danny Rand. With everyone gone from the dojo, Ward and Joy attempt to clear the air and thrash out their problems but with no success. Whereas, Colleen and Misty successfully thrash the Crane Sisters with a dynamic tag team fight. As they find out more about the ritual, Misty offers them prison or assisting with the ritual once again this time on Danny Rand. The Crane Sisters choose wisely! Elsewhere Davos returns from his bloody day of dishing out justice to be ambushed by Mary and Danny. In the fight Danny’s leg is broken and Davos powers up two Iron Fists but is finally sedated. However, as an ambulance comes to take Danny to hospital Walker has a trigger event and turns to Mary who flees from the scene. As Danny is taken off to hospital Davos remains sedated but free in New York city. Thank you so much for listening to our Iron Fist Season 2 Episode 6 Review Podcast and the rest of this season. Meanwhile, Harold Meachum (David Wenham), realising that Bakuto has been transferring Rand Enterprises' money to his own accounts, formulates a plan to flush out Bakuto by freezing the accounts. He teams up with Danny and Davos who wait outside the compound ready to spring their ambush, but as they wait Danny spots Colleen escaping from the compound and he races over to help but in doing so exposes his feelings and affection for Colleen to Davos. Iron Fist Episode 3 Review Podcast "Rolling Thunder Cannon Punch" Spoiler filled Synopsis Written by: Quinton Peeples Directed by: Tom Shankland Now on the run after escaping Birch Psychiatric Hospital Danny Rand (Finn Jones) seeks refuge in the Chikara Dojo. It’s owner Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) is unhappy about her new lodger but as she’s in serious debt she accepts Danny on the promise of financial relief until he begins to cause controversy with her students. With Danny gone from the Dojo and the need for additional money Wing calling herself the daughter of the dragon turns to illegal street fighting to bring in the much needed cash. In a penthouse apartment across the city Harold Meachum (David Wenham) has other problems when he is visited by a very intimidating guest who wants to know why he left his penthouse and reiterates that he must hold up his part of the deal between them. Meanwhile Danny meets up with one of his father’s former legal secretaries to discuss his case against the Meachum’s. Formerly known by Danny as J-Money the secretary is now a partner in her own law firm and is willing to work pro-bono in return for being held on retainer with Rand Enterprises but more importantly just to give the Meachums what she feels they deserve. As Jeryn Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss) is on the case it won’t be long until Danny wins back his honour. Whilst at Rand Enterprises to thrash out the legal case an overheard phone conversation between Ward Meachum (Tom Pelphrey) and an unknown caller leads Danny to tail Ward to a plush, downtown apartment block where all is not what it seems.
