Our Halloween tradition continues for a third year, and tonight we continue the third season of the Hallow's Eve Tales on Podzilla 1985! All month long, we're once again presenting 100% original horror stories written and voice-acted by PZ85 cast members and friends, with new episodes dropping every TUESDAY in October. Season Three is subtitled "Truth or Tale," and it follows Graham Sterling's popular program featuring fantastical tales that tasks the audience without figuring out if what they're hearing is based on a true story, or completely made up. In episode three, Graham tells the tale of an overworked shoe store owner who accepts a "too good to be true" deal from a stranger - a decision that could doom the entire world. “Invasion of the Sneakerheads” was created and written for performance by Lindsey Wolfgong and Seanán Young, and stars in order of appearance: Hunter Hendricks, Jesse Kimball, Lindsey Wolfgong, RE Casper, and Seanán Young.
Send us a textIt never ceases to amaze me how similar collectors are across all mediums and spaces and scenes. From cars to baseball cards to comic books, everybody's hobby is driven by one thing: exclusivity. But the line between bourbon and shoe collectors is often so blurred that the Venn diagram at times looks more like a circle. And, when someone like Eric "The Whiskey Mutant" Smith is so deeply ingrained in both of those worlds, it means that he's the prime candidate to dissect just how alike these two interests can be. So, on this week's episode of This is my Bourbon Podcast, Eric flies solo to discuss just that, all while taking the time to review the newest edition of 2XO Bourbon, aptly named "Sneakerhead"! Sneaker History Podcast - Sneakers, Sneaker Culture and the Business of Footwear
In this episode, Nick Engvall interviews Aaron and Andy, two sneaker enthusiasts and educators. They discuss their love for sneakers, the positive aspects of sneaker culture, and the impact of social media on the sneaker community. Aaron and Andy share their experiences creating sneaker content and the joy they find in connecting with others who share their passion. They also talk about the influence of sneakers in education and how it can help build relationships with students. The conversation highlights the evolving trends in sneaker culture and the different perspectives of older and younger generations. The conversation explores the lack of innovation and connection in the sneaker industry, particularly with Nike. The hosts discuss the absence of iconic moments and the decline of collaborations that resonate with younger generations. They suggest that Nike has become too comfortable and reliant on past successes, while other brands are embracing storytelling and grassroots efforts. The hosts also highlight the importance of fostering creativity and intentionality in design education to inspire future generations of sneaker enthusiasts. In this final part of the conversation, Andy and Aaron discuss the importance of in-person experiences with sneakers and the value of creating immersive experiences for sneaker releases. They also talk about the affordability and comfort of certain sneaker models and the changing dynamics of the sneaker market. They share their recent sneaker pickups and discuss the significance of certain collaborations and colorways. The conversation ends with a reflection on the nostalgia and personal stories associated with sneakers.Donate to Support the Show: https://venmo.com/sneakerhistoryJoin our Discord Community: https://discord.gg/xJFyWmWgzaEarly Access and Exclusive Videos On Patreon: https://patreon.com/sneakerhistorySubscribe on YouTube: https://youtube.com/sneakerhistory—–––– Check out our other shows: —––––For the Formula 1 Fans --> Exhaust Notes: https://exhaustnotes.fmFor the Fitted Hat Fans --> Crown and Stitch: https://crownandstitch.comFor the Cars & Sneakers Fans --> Cars & Kicks: https://carsxkicks.comFor the Creators --------> Outside The Box: https://podcasts.apple.com/id/podcast/outside-the-box-convos-with-creators/id1050172106—–––– EXCLUSIVE DEALS FOR YOU FROM OUR PARTNERS —––––[Links contain affiliate links, we may receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking a link. We have got a massive episode this week featuring a very special guest - Justin Truong, co-founder of Pushas joins us live in the studio. Really fun and interesting chat with Justin as we hear about the origins of Pushas, starting a business with his partner, his thoughts on some shoe trends and even the story of him teaching Ro at UNSW. This week Justin takes the hot seat as he plays Migs and Ro in the classic “Bullslut.” You can tell Sen has been spending too much time watching the Olympics this week with one too many Olympic categories. We end with “Cop or Not,” we usually do this segment as a way to rate corporate merch but instead this week we use Justin's area of expertise to rate some famous/well-known shoe collaborations or customs.___________________________________________________________YOU CAN FIND JUSTIN HERE:

In this episode, Nick and Robbie discuss the exorbitant prices of Nike's recent releases, particularly the $250 retail price for the "Bred" Air Jordan 1s. They question who the target audience is for these high-priced sneakers and suggest that Nike should focus on creating high-quality, innovative shoes rather than relying on nostalgia. They also criticize the design of the Jordan 39 and propose that Jordan Brand should elevate one of their signature athletes, such as Luka Doncic, Jason Tatum, or Zion Williamson, to be the flagship athlete for the brand.Support The Show: https://venmo.com/sneakerhistoryJoin Our Discord Community: https://discord.gg/xJFyWmWgzaEarly Access and Exclusive Videos On Patreon: https://patreon.com/sneakerhistorySubscribe on YouTube: https://youtube.com/sneakerhistory—–––– Check out our other shows: —––––For the Formula 1 Fans --> Exhaust Notes: https://exhaustnotes.fmFor the Fitted Hat Fans --> Crown and Stitch: https://crownandstitch.comFor the Cars & Sneakers Fans --> Cars & Kicks: https://carsxkicks.comFor the Creators --------> Outside The Box: https://podcasts.apple.com/id/podcast/outside-the-box-convos-with-creators/id1050172106—–––– EXCLUSIVE DEALS FOR YOU FROM OUR PARTNERS —––––Our podcast is proudly...Livestreamed with StreamYard: https://streamyard.com?pal=6514386237915136Recorded on Riverside: http://www.riverside.fm/?via=sneakerhistoryDistributed By Captivate: https://bit.ly/3j2muPb[Links contain affiliate links, we may receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking a link. Whenever you get into a hobby that involved enthusiasts and collecting, there are trends that begin to appear. Allocations, raffles, lotteries, fakes, these are things that become common. One of those hobbies that has quite a few parallels is sneakers. Matt Kusek is a certified whiskey enthusiasts as a write for Malt Review but he's also the host of the Swoosh Life podcast that focuses on sneaker heads. He joins the show to give us an insight into how the shoe game and bourbon have so many similarities that, in Matt's words, sneakers are 20 years ahead of bourbon. We dive into the types of collectors, brands, sales, allocation, and so much more. If sneakers are really 20 years ahead of bourbon, who knows what the next few years has in store for us. Show Notes: Above the Char with Fred Minnick (@fredminnick) talks about Buffalo Trace expansion. What's the similarity between Jordan's and bourbon releases? Are there raffles, lotteries, or hunts for sneakers? Who is the distributor and how do they own the retail store? If Nike is number one, who would they be compared to and who's the next biggest? Mom and pop stores vs chains and how are they getting pushed out of the market? What about saving and storing vs wearing or drinking? Is it Jordan and then everyone else? What is the Heaven Hill or Weller of sneakers? Are there people that only collect one type of shoe? Bourbon hits all walks of life or does the sneaker enthusiasts hit all walks of life? Are there sneakers that don't need marketing? Do you look differently at people who are rookies and buy stuff just because they want every color? Are there any value brands that hold up over time? Are there some LTOs that flop? Are replicas or fakes a big problem? Has the market gone down because everything became a limited edition? Was Blue Run able to sneakerize the industry in your opinion? @mattkusek Support this podcast on Patreon
