This man is going to inspire and save many lives from his story & the way that he thinks! I've got a lot of love and respect for his authenticity! When starting the podcast these were the exact discussions & conversations I imagined having - soul fulfilling Nick Edgar is a highly sensitive guy, former academy professional footballer at Reading FC, represented England U18 Schoolboys and played semi professionally for Stevenage Borough before leaving the game at only 19 he was unable to control his emotions and began to numb out to cope. Eventually he sought support and finally began his journey to self express authentically via writing. Frisco is a good friend of The Old Farm Bus & has been a big part of the journey from podcasting to teaching the young people in the community. It was a pleasure talking to him about his brand new album 'Sunflowers in September' some of his best work. Many would have you believe that hip-hop is a young man's game. However, Frisco Boogie (aka Duncan Mitchell) would beg to differ. Twenty years ago he turned his back on a record deal and took two decades out of making tunes. Now, nearing his half-century, he's back enjoying making music (and breakdancing and graffiti) more than ever…
What a beautiful episode! BetseyB radiates warmth & kindness. It's an honour to get to take a dive inside the mind of such a talented musician. A treat for you this week with great friend Martin Illingworth. Martin's work has inspired me endlessly to help re-imagine & change the mainstream approach & narrative to what education and teaching looks like. Martin's latest book Forget School explores why young people are succeeding on their own terms and what schools can do to avoid being left behind is a wide-reaching, engaging enquiry into the things that young people actually need from their education. Schools are at a crossroads: either they respond to the real world of change, challenges and possibilities that face young people, or they become irrelevant. Young people need to network effectively, manage their finances responsibly, and be digitally proficient and alert to the world around them. If schools do not adapt their provision to nurture these capabilities, then today's youth will increasingly turn to alternative sources to seek out the education they need. A copy of Forget School here > https://www.crownhouse.co.uk/forget-school

Those with high levels of SPS display increased emotional sensitivity, stronger reactivity to both external and internal stimuli—pain, hunger, light, and noise—and a complex inner life.
