What does it mean to work smarter, not harder? Frankly, I think it is all hard work. But today I want to help you make that effort (aka hard work) go further. And make sure you are working hard in the right places. The places that will help you reach more people, serve your community better, and make you more money. To me, that is how you work hard in a smart way. I'll share why it is important to track your numbers and note what you are doing that connects with potential clients. This will form the basis for creating content and products going forward. Instead of throwing spaghetti against the wall to see what sticks, we are noting which techniques make the noodles the stickiest and building on that. Need more details? Do you spend too much time on urgent and not enough time on what's important??? Today we are exploring the Eisenhower time management matrix to help you define your urgent versus important tasks. Learning to determine the difference between what is urgent and important and all the various combinations of urgent, not urgent, important, and not important, will help you define the priority tasks you need to focus on. If you can use the tactics we talk about today with your to-do list to determine which quadrant of the matrix your task falls into, you can manage your time better, complete the tasks with due dates that require your expertise, schedule the tasks that are important for you (your family, your growth, and your mental health), and determine what you can delegate or eliminate when you feel stressed or your schedule feels full. Are you a morning routine person? If you answered "no", can I ask a follow-up question...Do you have the time you need for maintaining your house? Working on your business in a focused manner? Or to take care of yourself? If you answered is "no", might I suggest the humble morning routine. Creating a morning routine can help you find that focused time to work or maintain your house or caring for yourself. And no, you don't have to wake before the sunrises to successfully use this tactic. As you will hear in today's episode, if you can create a solid plan for getting to bed, waking up, and what to do with that time, even the most non-morning person can be a life person. Are you feeling crushed when it comes to juggling your motherload and CEO load? Ever look around thinking "I wanted to start a business so I could have less stress, not more!" I feel you, mama! Like deep in my soul feel you. And that is exactly why on today's episode I'm giving you a strategy to manage the expectations you have for your work and home life. So often, our disappointment, stress, and overwhelm as a mompreneur comes down to feeling like we're missing the mark. Or never quite achieving what we set out to do. Or failing. Yeah, that's not good. But who is it that says we're missing the mark, never achieving what we set out to do, or failing. Usually, we do. That's who. On today's episode I share a simple way we can create a range to judge our success and manage expectations, rather than simply thinking we've succeeded or we've failed. And by incorporating a range of possible outcomes, we can celebrate even the smallest victory...which in turn helps us to stay motivated. Do you take the time to organize your space and time when it comes to your business? Or do you think you don't have time to organize and simplify with all the work you have to do? Well, mama, I'm here today to show you why organizing your time and space may just be one of the most important things you do as a mompreneur. That is if you want to keep track of items and processes you need, get the money from your clients or customers, feel less stressed, AND get more done in less time. But that's only if that sounds like something you want to do... On today's episode, I share 3 simple steps to start organzing your time and space, even if you've felt like you're chronically disorganized your whole life. And after spending 10+ years as a professional organizer before starting my coaching business, I may know a thing or two about organizing. :) But seriously...my goal is to make it as quick and easy as possible so you can streamline your day and get back to the "work" you need to do. And that simplified day leads you to shorter work hours more time doing what you love with who you love. That's a win. Want to dive deeper into creating systems for your business or home life? We're back with one of the most frequently asked questions in my community...how do I know what to work on when I finally find time to work?!? If you are ready to stop feeling overwhelmed and confused and start using your time and energy towards tasks that align with your goals and values, this episode is exactly what you need. We dive into my simple, 4 question framework to prioritize your to do list called the "TRIM Your To Do List" method. TRIM stands for Time Sensitive, Required, Impact Driven, & Money Related. When you focus on tasks that fall into these 4 areas first, you'll start to see more progress and success because the tasks move the needle rather than just spin the wheel. Do you need a break today? Even if you don't think you do, even if you don't think you can, even if it seems impossible...you should take a break. Like a 10 minute break to listen to this episode where we are discussing why rest is so vital to working productively and creating a successful business. Weird, huh? After years of being told "hustle, hustle, hustle" until your relationships, mental & physical health suffer, it turns out taking time to step away from our business is best. Working short breaks into our workday helps us focus better. Taking longer breaks helps us problem-solve better and come up with more creative solutions and ideas. Who knew? As moms and entrepreneurs, we LOVE to say "yes". We love to help people and get involved. We don't want to let people down. Especially our kids. We're worried someone can't do something as well as we can. BUT what happens when we continue to say "yes" over and over to our clients, our kids, our friends, and our commitments. It creates a schedule that feels stressful and overwhelming. It creates an anxious, stressed-out, overstimulated, unfulfilled mom entrepreneur. But we're going to fix that. Today I'm sharing a simple 3 step system to help you evaluate where you spend your time, build in transitions, and say "yes" where a task or activity truly aligns with your priorities, values, and goals. On today's "5 Questions with a Mom Entrepreneur", I chat with social media and ads strategist Samantha Semans. Samantha is the founder of Ten 10 Social. With a hunger for freedom in her own life and a clear understanding of the tireless work of small businesses, Samantha set out to build a business from the ground up. She fused her passions for shopping local, creativity, and serving others into Ten 10 Social. Not only does she enjoy the flexibility and newfound freedom for her family, but loves seeing other business owners' dreams come to fruition. In her free time, Samantha can be found volunteering with her church, drinking a tad too much coffee (if that is even a thing), and happily raising her four precious kiddos ages 8, 7, 4, & 2. They love hanging out, playing outside, watching movies, and just being together. And they just made a crazy move from California to Tennessee.
