Rachael Denhollander is an attorney, advocate, and educator who was the first woman to speak publicly against former USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar. As a result, more than 250 women came forward as survivors of Nassar's abuse, leading to his imprisonment. She was named among TIME magazine's 100 most influential people in the world in 2018, was awarded Sports Illustrated's Inspiration of the Year Award that same year, and--along with the more than 300 survivors of the USGA sex abuse scandal--received the Arthur Ashe Courage Award. She's the author of three books: What's a Girl Worth?, a children's book titled What's a Little Girl Worth?, and most recently Discover Your True Worth. Rick Woolworth was the Co-Founder and President of the Telemachus Network, an organization dedicated to building a national community of leaders who form intergenerational friendships lasting for years and, in many cases, decades. After spending three decades on Wall Street, Rick and his wife, Jill, co-founded Telemachus in 2010. Rick joined Matt and Ben for this episode for a conversation focused on the value of mentorship for leaders at any stage of life. This interview was recorded earlier in the fall and was scheduled for future release. But Rick's sudden death this past week made it seem all the more important to share it now. It's now been 20 years since the attacks of September 11, 2001. The events of that day had far-reaching effects, but few people experienced them the way Paul McNulty did. At the time, he was a senior leader in the U.S. Department of Justice and eventually was responsible for the prosecution of many of those responsible for the planning of the 9/11 attacks. He now serves as the president of Grove City College, a position he has held since 2004. In this episode, he joined Matthew Hall and Vivek Sarin for a conversation reflecting on those events 20 years ago, the lessons learned by leading under pressure, and how organizations can build healthy cultures of accountability.
