I get it! We’ve all been there. This is why in this episode, we'll go over TWO very important elements of your promotion strategy you may be overlooking and how to master them so you can keep growing your podcast audience. Here’s a list of affordable and free ways to promote your podcast: Traditional media like TV and radio. Contact your local TV and radio stations. These outlets are always looking for stories and content for their viewers and listeners.Social media paid ads. We’ve run ads on Facebook and Instagram for our services and podcast with very good results each time. When you create an add you can target certain audiences and use specific keywords. Also find influencers in your niche. Even better if they’re already listeners of your show. Look for ways to get them to endorse your show.Create big event releases for upcoming great episodes.Repurpose your podcast episodes into blog posts, embed the episodes in your blogs and share them on social media. Launch your podcast with the Pod Sound Schoolhttps://www.podcastingsmart.comAs a content creator and business owner, I’ve been asking myself what is the best way to show up on social media for our communities right now. Should I mention how distraught I am due to the amount of suffering and loss our world is experiencing? Is my audience interested in listening to my messages of hope or how I woke up feeling the pain of the world this morning? Do they need me to be uplifting and matter of fact?I couldn't think of a better person than Natasha to come and talk to my podskis about how to shine on Instagram during dark times. podcastingsmart.com This is the time to get in touch with our inner child and be dreamers, creatives, optimists, visionaries... a time to reevaluate our purpose and our goals. It is the perfect time to sing, to dance, to write poetry, to make videos, and, of course my favorite thing, to get behind the microphone and make podcasts. The benefits of having your own podcast go way beyond the FUN and CONNECTING. I wanted to check in with you guys and gals and see if I could convince you that 2020 is the year that you start your own podcast. Having your own podcast will: Open doors to opportunity and creativity Establish your authority on a topic within a niche community Enrich your relationship with yourself and your community Create new connections and puts you in places you’ve never imaginedHelp build your confidence Improve your speaking, thinking, communicating, and writing skills Provide an outlet for self-expression

Smart & Sexy Podcast Launch WAITLIST Taking the time to do market research has numerous benefits, among those are:Finding your ideal listener and planning and creating content they really need and like.Crafting promotion and marketing strategies that will give you faster results.Setting up goals and expectations regarding the growth of your audience and the ability to start monetizing your show.Avoiding podfading and staying in the podcast industry for a long time. At the time I’m doing this video, there are a little over 900,000 podcasts on Apple podcast. An estimated 60% of those shows are not releasing new episodes or have podfaded. If done well, the results of your research can reveal a lot of valuable information such as:Where to find your ideal listener. What kind of content they are interested in.Whether they are podcast listeners or not. What kind of show format they tend to enjoy the most?Do they like long or short episodes? What are some of the things they value the most in a podcast? What kind of music they like the most? All this information will help you not only with creating and planning content but also with developing a strong brand strategy for your podcast.By learning your ideal listener’s social media platform of choice, you can narrow down your social media promotion, saving you time and giving you the most results. A lot has happened since our last PodBitz. Schools are cancelled and we have kids at home demanding our attention. Toilet paper and hand sanitizer have become a commodity. Countries are closing their bordersWe are in either voluntary or forced lock down in our houses. And to top it all off, we woke up this morning here in Salt Lake to a 5.7 magnitude earthquake. I’m closed to a nervous breakdown Focus on service. When we turn our attention from the negative things that are happening to the ways we can help others we feel less helpless and more in control. So, this is my call for you. Your skills, experiences, knowledge, entertainment is needed. Don’t stop producing your shows. And if you’ve been thinking about starting a podcast this is the time. For those of you sharing information about the COVID 19 be responsible with the way you share this information. Make sure you use reputable sources like the CDC. Always check your sources and stick to the facts. Also try to be the positive force, the light in the darkness instead of feeding into the fear and chaos. Talking about ways we can help, this last weekend we put together a workshop on how to start a podcast on a budget. It’s an hour and half workshop and it’s free. In that workshop we teach you everything from how to find a topic to how to record and launch. The workshop is on our YouTube channel.
