It's been a difficult month for me after hearing the death of one of my closest friends: THAD BOOGIE, who died at such a young age. I don't want to go through it so much, as I do a eulogy for him on the podcast. The whole issue has definitely made me look at my own life, and how time is so short and you really got to make the most of it. Chilled soul, classic vibes from my Soul Partizan vaults, a great interview from label owner of “Aloa got soul” @RogerBong, Hip Hop you don't stop & some fantastic headbangers, add to this special edition
It's been a tricky month with a lot of upcoming projects and events to sort out. Not easy but determined to get them sorted One of the nicest things that have come through are friends who used to live in the neighbourhood making their way back to visit, reminisce, catch up with ole friends and take in the sights. It's been brilliant to see them all, laugh about old stories and hear about new ones. On this months show, old and new friends surprise me to update me about their lives also projects that are important to them especially during these challenging times. Newcomer Freestyler @dEE1NE surprises us and drop some lyrics, while environmental developers Valentino & Erika contact me about their wonderful project: @JAMAQUA, a clean water. initiative dedicated to improving access to safe drinking water in Jamaica

Soul Partizan Radio Roadshow: SP#121 Born on this day many moons ago Its always strange when your birthday comes and go. The anticipation always builds your self esteem. Its one of the few days you look forward too, but once gone you look back and access your life and where its going As you know music plays a massive part in my life, so this podcast really opens up my thoughts, the music I loved as a Teenager, Young adult and now my next chapter into a older age Tonight gives you a crossover of many genres, but it challenges all your types of emotion I had a fantastic birthday weekend with family and friends. It reminds me how lucky and blessed I am x
On this episode, the music played encourages the exciting dIverse multi-cultural culture that I have seen during my travels around the UK. It's also our 120th monthly podcast, which has been quite an achievement considering we started self funding the whole project. For all this hard work, I am so happy to see the development, also how we are now in a position to be working/collaborating on some exciting projects for 2025 Onwards and Upwards
It's coming to the end of Summer season, with so many people heading off to different types of destinations, short breaks and Festival partying, I thought I would do a 2 x hour mix introducing sunshine music for all occasions and activities. A diverse, Eclectic dose of soul/funk/disco/ broken beat/Nu Jazz/ hiphop/ deephouse/soulful house/ afro/latin & Brazilian gems
Seems like the whole nation is fixated about Sundays final in Berlin between Espana & England for the European championship. Rumours are following that the government might give Monday off no matter what the result. But for those suffering from severe football anxiety and depression before kick off, i have the perfect remedy. Between 5pm till 7pm (Uk time) our show will be going out "Live" dropping some serious beats, rhymes and grooves celebrating this prestigious event. The ultimate "kool" aid before kick off

The 2nd Bank holiday at the end of May is rapidly becoming “the weekend” for amazing festivals, and hospitality in London. An Array of activities, events were given to me as I was invited to sample all things wonderful in the creative, hospitality scene today.

Funny how life turns a corner, and all of a sudden your in a position to feel and do what you like to do with ones life. I was not really looking forward to do this show, but its been one of the funniest, entertaining, times i have had in constructing & organising a podcast. The process has reinforced my amazing friendship with people who have seen me grown, gone through pain and been there as a constant support. They have given constructive criticism without making you feel like your an idiot, shared their experiences, but always make you feel that there is a brighter tomorrow. So a massive “shout out to my people”, for getting involved with this episode. My family and support network also new friends who have made me giggle like a little kid. The tracks i have sampled have been influenced by those young innocent days when love was all about the “Disney Factor” (happy ever after syndrome), the battles of love (young adulthood) right the way through to how stability (all loved up) make you blossom with pride finally, “change” in personalities and life style changes your course of actions!!! So where ever you are, who ever your with, relax, chillax and hope you find the time to enjoy these musical gems x
On Tonights show, I wanted to dedicate it to three men who inspired and allowed me to dream that anything is possible. One person being family and two creatives I was fortunate to have met, hanged with & left their own particular stardust before leaving this earth
Soul Partizan Radio Roadshow #111 Boogieland Birthday Weekend: The great thing about getting older is how long you wanna celebrate your birthday. Soul Partizan radio roadshow: Wasted Talent Festival Rome part one Landed at Rome Ciampino airport to glorious weather (which always help). Slick little airport, easy to navigate and directions straight forward The airport bus stop was two minutes from the entrance and takes around 20mins to get to the nearest metro: Laurenstina. Once there had a little wonder @ Mercato Di VIia Sannio, found a cute vinyl, cd store, then got my metro tickets. It was easy to navigate & get where I needed to go which was four stops away, location: Brasilica San Pietro Linked up with Joel ( my new family!!) who had keys, showed me around and was a perfect host. Let the adventure begin
This months show gets me out of the urban rat race, to soak up in the delightful South of France: The Area is rich in culture, sun, sea, wine, fun & food. I start my journey in Perpignan, sampling towns and cities: Narbonne, Gruissan, Beziers, & St John De Fois, before heading back up north via Paris, Lille and Calais The adventure certainly has its ups and downs, but in the end the vitality of life comes shining through
It's time to hit Southside for an event I have been looking forward to all week. Straight down on the Victorian line and you head out on one of the most lively multicultural and down to earth areas in London Brixton (the ole capital of West Indian culture) introduces itself as soon as you head out of the station and walk up the stairs. Bubbling and buzzing your greeted with a no nonsense attitude which I love. So I stride forward to the main event. An all day festival celebrating Fifty years of HipHop, opened to everyone at the Black Cultural Archives at Windrush Square. I get interviews for Brixtonians : Dave & Sophie, Ben, louie & Leroy from Lionvibe reggae shop. After I run down to Shepherds Bush to catch up with Sham (Hot Banana sounds) to see what his plans are for Carnival, also drop a little mix to cheer a man up!!
For two days i have been blessed to be invited to some profound gigs and spots in East London, which I have combined to produce this show. London Fields is a park in Hackney that over the last few years has grown as the centre piece for the new creative affluent. Cool spots have grown around the area giving a cutting edge that enchants every time I am in the area One of those spots is the mesmerising: BBE record store, the other is the sublime 5 Points Brewery & Courtyard. I head down to catch up and interview legendary selector DJ Colin Curtis @BBE then check out the scene, food, atmosphere and great company from BBQ specialist Curtis "From the Ashes" & General Manager Fiona at 5 Points Brewery
Soul Partizan Radio Roadshow: #106 Inspired by the Windrush After the drama of moving up my stuff to dads garage, I finally had time to relax and consider the minor adventure I just had, but not for long as my attentions had to move on as some cultivating activities were coming my way. My brothers birthday, Fathers Day, the longest day, but the stand out event for me was the celebration of 75 years since HMS Empire Windrush set sail from Kingston Jamaica in 1948 to Tilbury (Essex). Tonights show is dedicated to this culture. My culture, the vibes, sounds that gatecrashed and smashed opened a multicultural sub culture and a way of life x
Its a early morning raise for me, as its time to finally move out of my spot in East London. All week I have been, planning, structuring, getting rid of stuff from the past with some remorse but I know its all for the best. Its time for a change and I am so happy that this moment has come. The plan is my delivery man/driver Ufuoma, is on his way, and its up to me to get the 40+ boxes and 1500 vinyl records ready on the landing so its much easier to load into the van. Thank god there's a lift !!!! So for the first time i thought it would be a good idea to make a show out of todays activity, combining all the tracks I ruffled through during my time of packing with fantastic new music.
It's heating up over here and its getting well exciting. Been in Barcelona for a few days now. After doing my gigs, I got plenty of links for future projects and interviews which I will target those as they come, but one of the main reasons I am in Barcelona is because I was asked/invited by the main organisers of the Jazztronica Festival, (who are opening SAT 22nd & SUN 23rd April) to do my next podcast on the whole event! My Jaw dropped and I was so humbled. The Organisers had listened to Soul Partizan Podcasts & thought that my style and format of the show would be perfect for their audience. So now I am looking for a photographer to work with me during the event. Been linked with some headz so gonna investigate the options, then its finalising the artists that are up for being interviewed for the days
Its the morning after the night before!! Hoxton Gallery present "For Those Who Know" With Soul Partizan collaborating and Celebrating 100 x monthly shows with this special event. Back from the States after another amazing experience. Finally, gonna have some quality chill out time. Decided to get out of London and head to the “Middle ground”, The Midlands to see my family and friends. It's been a while since I last visited, so was totally looking forward to it. While travelling I was inspired by an article by Matt Anniss (Redbull Academy) who talked about All Dayer events that were huge in the North west & The Midlands during the 80s. This got me thinking about the joyous days of partying as a youngster at venues : Rock City based in Nottingham & The Place, my hometown venue in Stoke, both situated next to the River Trent So that was that, the article gave me an idea. This month's show was going to be a tribute to the All-Dayers & All-Nighters that changed the face of UK clubbing forever.
