He is a man of integrity and accountability. We touch in a number of topics with him, from his beginnings to his retirement. What was the noble reason he got into covering football? Why was covering the Bengals in 1984 a joy and a learning experience? In 1985, he went to Newsday to cover the Bill Parcells led Giants. What was Bill Belichick like as an Assistant there? Did Peter have a roll in Belichick going to Cleveland? The “Monday Morning Quarterback” became a member of the Board of Selectors for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1992. We discuss what a responsibility that is and get his thoughts on some potential candidates. Peter gives his opinion on if Drake Maye should be playing. He tells us his favorite Patriot to cover. MCALLEN, Texas - Ralph Garcia, vice president of international business recruitment for McAllen Economic Development Corporation, has spoken about new industrial space being created on the north side of his city. “As we continue to grow as a community, one of the challenges that we have on the south side, being close to the border, is availability of real estate. And so the City took the initiative on the north side,” Garcia explained. “They purchased a 1,200-acre site along with the McAllen Foreign Trade Zone. The FTZ purchased an additional 211 acres and it's right between an airport and an old military base.” Moore Air Base is an inactive U.S. Air Force facility that was sold to private concerns and partially transferred to the Department of Agriculture. “That airport is still used, so that's a site that we're promoting for new development, new projects,” Garcia said. Garcia made his comments in an in-depth presentation to site selectors who were brought down to the Rio Grande Valley by the Council for South Texas Economic Progress. The event was held at the Forum by Regency in Pharr. “We're currently working on a project for a high-tech facility that's being quoted out to several different construction companies in our area. It's about us $50 million or $60 million project we're excited about. We hope to get something going here pretty soon,” Garcia said. Garcia also spoke about the McAllen Foreign Trade Zone. He said it was established in 1968 and covers 800,000 square feet. “The Foreign Trade Zone really was our community trying to establish a base for industrial developments. The Foreign Trade Zone still caters to a lot of our industry. If you're bringing in raw materials from other parts of the world and you want to bring it into an FTZ without having to pay duties or taxes you can still do that,” Garcia said. Some of the revenue the McAllen FTZ generates goes to McAllen EDC, Garcia explained. “Some of that we get to spend an economic development which is quite unique. It helps fund a lot of the things that we do.”Editor's Note: Go to the Rio Grande Guardian International News Service to read the full story. To read the new stories and watch the news videos of the Rio Grande Guardian International News Service go to www.riograndeguardian.com.

Yes, the cricket world is waiting for the India vs England series to resume. After two intense Tests in Hyderabad and Vizag, there was a lull before the storm as the teams enjoyed a week's break. But, plenty happened. Even as the buzz has been around the Rajkot Test, a BCCI diktat to players dominated the narrative on social media. Reports have suggested that BCCI was not happy with players skipping Ranji Trophy duties to prepare for IPL 2024. Why should the players prioritise Ranji Trophy? Yes, the domestic red-ball tournament is part of Indian cricket's rich tradition, but have the selectors rewarded Ranji Trophy performances while picking squads for the senior national teams? Go ask, Jalaj Saxena. Also, where is the continuity in terms of selection? Avesh Khan, who was part of the first two Tests, has not been picked for the remainder of the series. Why no place for Cheteshwar Pujara? Yes, India's envious domestic structure is something that needs to be preserved. But at what cost? Akshay Ramesh, Saurabh Kumar and Kingshuk Kusari discuss why it's not entirely right to blame players in the latest episode of the Sledging Room. We answer this in the Sledging Room! Tune in! Peter King enters his 40th year of covering the NFL by sharing tales from his distinguished career. He recalls giving a car ride to rookie Boomer Esiason, being questioned by Bill Parcells as a young reporter, and watching an old movie at the home of Brett Favre. Peter tells us about being around Lawrence Taylor daily and what made L.T. special. Hear how Mike Holmgren granted King unlimited access to the Packers for a week. And Peter talks about owning up to mistakes like the one he made while reporting on Deflategate, how he has balanced working relationships with sources, and much more. King is a prolific NFL analyst for NBC Sports, which he joined in 2018 after 29 years of covering professional football for Sports Illustrated. He has been named national sportswriter of the year three times (2010, '12, and '13) in a vote of his peers by the National Sports Media Association. Peter has been a member of the Board of Selectors for the Pro Football Hall of Fame since 1992 and he became a Hall of Famer himself in 2009 when the Pro Football Writers of America named him recipient of the Dick McCann Memorial Award. Peter writes a Monday morning NFL column each week for NBCSports.com, makes weekly appearances on “Pro Football Talk Live” with Mike Florio, and, as he has since the station's Sunday night studio show debuted in 2006, contributes to “Football Night in America.” He also appears on “The NFL on NBC” YouTube Channel and hosts “The Peter King Podcast.” In addition to his pro football responsibilities, King reports on NBC Sports' high-profile events, including the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The nearly three decades King spent at Sports Illustrated were highlighted by the widely popular “Monday Morning Quarterback” column that he wrote from 1997 through 2018. The column morphed into “The MMQ,” a pro football microsite for which he also served as editor-in-chief, overseeing a staff of reporters during his final five years at SI. Besides appearances as an NFL insider on NBC, King has worked on television for the HBO show “Inside the NFL” as a managing editor and reporter, was a halftime correspondent on ABC's “Monday Night Football,” and served as an NFL reporter for CNN. After an internship at the Associated Press, King's career began in 1980 with a five-year stint at the Cincinnati Enquirer, mostly as a general assignment reporter before taking on the Bengals' beat in 1984. A year later, he moved to Newsday, where he covered the New York Giants until leaving to join Sports Illustrated in '89. King earned a bachelor of science degree from Ohio University's E. W. Scripps School of journalism in 1979. He was born in Springfield, Mass., and grew up in Enfield, Conn. Follow him on Twitter: @peter_king Learn more about your ad choices. CSS attribute selectors are a lot more powerful than I thought! I wasn't aware that they could not only select elements based on the presence of an attribute, or the presence of an attribute with a specific value, but that they could also "filter" through that attribute value by placing specific parameters on them using just CSS. In this episode, Matt and Mike discuss these "advanced attribute selectors" and cap the episode off by discussing another powerful CSS feature - custom attributes, done the right way!  Show Notes: www.htmlallthethings.com/podcasts/css-attribute-selectors-custom-attributes

CSS selectors are a fundamental piece of CSS that allow it to select HTML elements based on a collection of parameters that the developer has set. CSS selectors can be used to select elements by type, class, ID, and can be written in a more complex way with the use of combinators. This week we discuss CSS selectors in great detail, covering their syntax, popular use cases, and clearing up (hopefully) some confusing bits that junior developers may struggle with.
