Acaban de anunciar para septiembre un disco que no les puede definir mejor por su título: 'Dance Called Memory'.Playlist:Nation of Language - I'm Not Ready for the ChangeThe Cure - All I Ever Am (65daysofstatic remix)Yung Lean - I'm Your Dirt, I'm Your LoveDepresión Sonora - Me Va la Vida en EstoKevin Abstract, Dominic Fike - Geezerrusowsky, Kevin Abstract - LIAR?Teo Planell - RadioNina Emocional - KOMURANick León, Esty, mediopicky - Millennium FreakLSDXOXO, Shygirl - SATISFYGirl Ultra - guapa (Fcuckers Remix)Daphni - Sad Piano HouseNubiyan Twist - Find Your Flame (Jungle Version)Aminé, chlothegod - ChangerYazmin Lacey - Ain't I Good For YouEzra Collective, Yazmin Lacey - God Gave Me Feet For DancingEscuchar audio
For our latest Select, we have Lebanese vinyl maverick, NeighborsByMusic. Her penchant for discovering new sounds has led her to build an extensive repertoire over the years, blending diverse music styles from different cultures. Her sets often incorporate influences from oriental, Brazilian funk, hip-hop and jazz. NeighborsByMusic treats us to a special vinyl-only set–initially recorded at JIVE in Beirut–that meshes together threads of Brazilian bossa nova, funk, and Arabic oldies from Simone and Hamid El Shaeri with 90s hip-hop and a hint of jazzy house here and there. The colossal proportions of the set, fitting together a multitude of different sounds, are somewhat reflective of the organised chaos that Lebanon is known for. Featuring a thoughtfully curated selection of feel-good tunes, such as Ezra Collective's ‘Palm Wine', Mtume's ‘Juicy Fruit', and Simone's ‘Mabsouta', the set ends abruptly, as if alluding to a typical electricity cut at midnight in Beirut.

Playlist:Bb trickz - Tipz & TrickzPanda Bear - PraiseJuan Wauters - If It's Not LuvEyedress, Mac DeMarco - My Simple JeepMyd, Channel Tres, Trueno - All that Glitters is not GoldThe Marías - Back To MeBuscabulla - El CaminoLUSILLON - Muero X Verterusowsky, Ralphie Choo - BBY ROMEOGuitarricadelafuente - Pipe dreamBeirut - Tuanaki AtollNick Mulvey - Holy DaysObongjayar - Sweet DangerEzra Collective, Sasha Keable - Body LanguageBADBADNOTGOOD, V.C.R - Found A Light (Beale Street)Jalen Ngonda - Just As Long As We're TogetherMac Miller - 5 Dollar Pony RidesEscuchar audio

How important is it to make music with purpose? Annie and Nick chat about Ezra Collective's Femi Koleoso teaching people what's important at this year's 6 Music Festival. Elsewhere, AJ Tracey has decided to include smaller cities and venues on his upcoming tour and Sam (not Shawn) Mendes is set to create not one but four Beatles Biopics featuring Paul Mescal, Harris Dickinson, Barry Keoghan and Joseph Quinn as each band member. Plus, Lucy Dacus asks Annie and Nick which music artist they'd curate an exhibition on, Annie reveals all about wining Player of The Match at her latest football game, and what are some quintessential spring songs? Do the charts have the same relevance they once did? Annie and Nick discuss the potential reasons why there are no UK artists in the annual global top 10 for the first time since 2003. For Sidetracked's first ever Christmas party, Annie and Nick are joined by singer SELF ESTEEM, Ezra Collective's Femi Koleoso, comedian Joanne McNally and BBC Music Correspondent Mark Savage, at their favourite Irish pub. With the festive season in full swing, Annie and Nick ask their guests why music and Christmas are so intrinsically linked. And although it's full of joy, why does Christmas music have the power to make people feel devastatingly sad? Plus, Femi plays the piano in public for the very first time, Annie takes on the role of Santa and Joanne talks about her brief time at the top of the Irish music charts. In this edition of arts24, Jennifer Ben Brahim chats with the first jazz act to ever win a Mercury Prize. Ezra Collective are one of the UK's most exciting improvisation groups, blending jazz with Afrobeat, reggae and soul. The quintet released their third album this autumn called "Dance, No One's Watching", a mission statement to get everybody on the dance floor.
Stance is back with singer and dancer Moonchild Sanelley as we approach our 8th year on air! In Season 4, Chrystal Genesis explores the people, places, stories, and ideas shaping our creative world. And with that, we head to South Africa to hear about Full Moon, the upcoming album from Port Elizabeth-born, Jo'burg-based singer, dancer and businesswoman Moonchild Sanelly. Born Sanelisiwe Twisha, she was raised on dance routines and church choirs and has since created a sound that's entirely her own, which she calls Future Ghetto Funk—an eclectic fusion of hip hop, punk rock, house, and dance-pop with South African gqom and kwaito. She has also collaborated with artists like Beyoncé, Self Esteem, Nile Rodgers, Ezra Collective, and Gorillaz. Chrystal sat down with her to discuss her third studio album, Full Moon, her patented teal Moonmop hairstyle, and the inspiration behind her new record's themes of sexuality, reclaiming power, motherhood, vulnerability and forgiveness. In this episode I'm joined by Sam Dean to talk about Mikel Arteta signing a new contract, with discussion of the timing of the announcement, and what this nextcycle will demand of the Arsenal boss. Then we turn our attention to the injury-filled Interlull, paying close attention to the Martin Odegaard injury, and trying to figure out what Arteta is going to do without his captain – a player who is fundamental to the way the Gunners play. Then, I catch up with Tayo Popoola, a contributor to the new book Black Arsenal by Clive Chijioke Nwonka and Matthew Harle. We chat about the significance of this publication, before Tayo catches up with Femi Koleoso - Drummer from Ezra Collective; Eddie Otchere - Photographer; and Amy Lawrence to go more in depth on the book and its themes.Music – "Don Gargan Talk” by SPMC : “Cry Tuff Dub” by TayoBlack Arsenal is available in all good bookshops now – please consider ordering from your local independent bookstore, rather than giving any tax-dodging corporation money they don't need.Get extra bonus content and help support Arseblog by becoming an Arseblog Member on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/arseblog Hosted on Acast. 2023 was a banner year for Ezra Collective, making them the first-ever jazz artist to land the coveted Mercury Music Prize, for their album Where I’m Meant To Be, AND they brought down the house when they made their debut on MBE. The prolific group isn’t wasting time and are set to release their third album Dance, No One’s Watching in late September. Written while on tour in 2023, the album is an ode to the dance floors they experienced and ties in with some of the members’ roots in church. Drummer and bandleader Femi Koleoso notes, “Myself, Ife, and TJ all grew up in church, and it played a massive role in how we view the purpose of dancing. Dancing is bigger than just the club space. Dancing is a community thing, dancing is a spiritual thing, and ‘God Gave Me Feet For Dancing’ is like a window into that element of Ezra Collective for the five of us.”
