In this episode of Why We Vote, CannCon and Ashe in America are joined by Colonel Shawn Smith for a powerful and sobering conversation about the systemic breakdown of election integrity in the United States. Colonel Smith lays out how key security measures, chain of custody, physical ballot controls, machine audits, and software transparency, have been steadily abandoned across counties and states. He warns that elections are now untrustworthy by design, not by accident. Drawing from real-world examples and battlefield-tested leadership, Colonel Smith urges Americans to reject the comforting illusion that someone else is fixing the problem. Instead, he calls for civic courage and mass local engagement, arguing that only organized citizens can restore trust in the vote. The discussion dismantles the myth of risk-limiting audits, challenges the blind faith in state institutions, and highlights how fear and apathy have paralyzed action in the face of obvious fraud. Blunt, urgent, and deeply motivating, this episode issues a clear call: get involved now, or surrender your voice forever.
This guest just blew me away on every front imaginable. Welcome drummer David Abbruzzese to the show. If the name sounds familiar, it's probably because he was in the biggest band in the world at what I consider their peak. Dave played drums for Pearl Jam from 1991 to 1994. For me, this was when the band could do no wrong. But, as David tells me, there was a lot of crazy stuff going. That includes a cursed music video that was so bad it was not only trashed, it almost destroyed Dave's musical career! But that's jumping ahead. Dave joins me from a distant time zone, just after a dental procedure. But he was kind enough to hang with me for a couple of hours. A lot happened between his birth and Pearl Jam, so Dave sheds a little light on that. Once we get to the Pearl Jam years, Dave tells some incredible stories, like how he got the job, the time he met Spinal Tap, that cursed video, and some stories behind some favorite songs. Dave is also candid about how he was let go from the band and what he's been up to since. He's worked with some incredible artists in Green Romance Orchestra, Guns N Roses, Peter Cornell, Shawn Smith, and the two folks who helped connect me with Dave, Jeff Fielder and Scott Reeder; thank you, both! Follow Dave on Facebook, on Instagram @davidabbruzzese1968, Free Ass Records on YouTube, and on Bandcamp. Follow us @PerformanceAnx on socials. Grab merch at performanceanx.threadless.com. In this must-watch episode of Why We Vote, CannCon and Ashe in America are joined by special guest Colonel Shawn Smith from Cause of America to unpack the seismic implications of President Trump's latest executive order on election integrity. From the decertification of widely-used voting machines to the mandated enforcement of citizenship verification, Shawn breaks down what the EO actually does, and why it's a game-changer. He exposes vulnerabilities in election systems, foreign influence, the asymmetry of citizen access, and how the voter rolls have been algorithmically manipulated. After Shawn exits, Ashe and CannCon go even deeper, connecting the dots between the executive order, lawfare, and the Colorado court case they're directly involved in. They expose the weaponized legal system protecting fraudulent systems, dissect how the Christiansburg precedent shields civil rights plaintiffs from accountability, and explain why overturning it is critical to restoring election justice. It's a high-energy, high-impact episode that shreds the narrative and shines light on the fight ahead.

Coming into Tuesday night's game against Kentucky, the Wildcats' main focus always centered around keeping the Aggies off the glass, especially on their own missed shots. Texas A&M brought a 44 percent offensive rebounding rate into Lexington and was coming off a 19 offensive rebound performance in a close loss to Alabama over the weekend. Even without a towering seven-footer, Texas A&M's pure physicality and willingness to make the game ugly has allowed them to live on the boards this season.
